I worked as a full-time teacher at Don Soffer HS between Oct 31 and Dec 16. I have not been paid a single cent. Let this be a warning to anyone considering starting teaching as a contractor for this organization. I plan to update this review listing the dates I actually do get paid.

This company hires anyone to run schools. Most of their staff and principals are incompetent to say thr least. There are Child Find violations that occur as well. Do not send your children to these schools. They are terrible: Renaissance Charter School at Goldenrod. The teachers are incompetent and the aftercare program is unsafe. My child had a tooth knocked out and hit in his head by the same child with a basketball twice, risking a concussion. They don’t give you a written report because they’re afraid of lawsuits. The principal threatened my child on the last day before the Christmas break but never responded to any of my emails since she started last year. They lost several staff that actually made the place tolerable. Discrimination takes place against African American children here by the predominant Hispanic staff & student population. Do not send your children here. They don’t know how to teach & have poor classroom management. HW is a joke & teachers are not licensed.

I have filed numerous grievances and complaints with CSUSA and Winthrop Charter and Sara Capwell and Terry Johnson is not assisting me on this matter. I’ve requested to speak with Dr. Ruiz and the corporate office is failing to assist with any further assistance.

Do not work here or send your children. Its all about the money not the kids. Employees are over worked and under paid the schools are not running in compliance or to North Carolina standards. Hi turnover rate is because of the continued mis appropriation and attempted lies. They try to avoid legal responsibilities by creating false documentation.

They're not good on communication with parents, also they don't try any effort to make the school works how should.

I absolutely DO NOT recommend this school to anyone. This school is very disorganized. The Principal isn't hands on and comes off very unwelcoming. They play favorites and not all students are treated equally. My son was assaulted on Tues and reported it to the administration and he was asked " Was he running his mouth". The student was NOT immediately suspended nor was the assault immediately investigated until I contacted the local police and demanded they view the cameras. This student was allowed to return to class in which he shares with my son and my son was told that he would be seated next to the student at lunch. The administration withheld vital information and one administrator in particular has violated my son by touching him without consent. This school WILL NOT protect our kids!

On facebook, a suggested post came up for an open house for a charter school in hollywood, florida, operated by charter schools usa.as an educator, i wanted to open up some dialogue about the issues surrounding charter schools (no accountability for what is being taught to students, cherry picking student/discriminating against students with disabilities because they are more costly, and taxpayer monies diverted away from true public schools run by the district.after deleting my post and blocking my access to the post entirely, i went to their facebook page to leave feedback and resume the dialogue, where i was promptly blocked by admin there as well.if you are running a charter school operation, you should save the concerns of the general public and at least hear them out.this business runs from criticism and i'm sure this reflects in their practice.

I do not recommend Charter Schools USA in addition to Concord Lake Steam Academy. The safety with this particular school when it comes to children is limited to none. They have a record of releasing children to the wrong parents, allowing people to pick up children without verifying who they are and more. The catalyst for this post comes from the insensitive behavior of the owner/instructor of Uniquely You Dance Team, an unverified/unregistered “company”. The director released students last week asking them what cars do they belong to and totally ignored my safety protocols I have set in place. It has been nearly a week and Charter Schools USA has shown no sense of urgency when it comes to my complaint and concerns. Do understand that I will continue to file complaints and advocate for children’s safety. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE!

My daughter attended Central Palm in Lake Worth, for middle school. She had a great experience, met her best friend now sister there. We were blessed with some amazing teachers, teachers that took an interest in her and her talents. Teachers such as Ms Marcus in music and theater. Ms. Barkley was the Math teacher who helped her with her fear of math. Ms. Whitley and Ms. Murray both taught the Cambridge program and I was excited about having my son attend there to have them as teachers, 2nd and 3rd grade. As a parent if you community with the teachers they communicate with you. It's a 2 way street. Teachers need our support. Ms. Diaz the ESE coordinator helped me so much with my son. We teach our children how to treat others by the way we treat others. School is a child's 2nd home, they spend more rime there than in their homes. Therefore we as parents should do our very best to support our teachers and encourage them, say thank you and make sure our children respect their teachers and peers. It makes for a much better school and home environment. My daughter has graduated High school and is still in touch with Ms Marcus and Ms Barkley. That's how great they are. Central Palm Sharks will always be our home, we will always be Sharks. Have A Fintastic day all.

I've worked with as a professional teacher for 7 years at one of our charter schools. It is challenging, but I feel I haven't ever worked for a nicer group of colleagues that encourage and uplift you daily. I live a fair distance from work but still travel due to the fact that it is a great school. I feel that many of us may want to blame because our students aren't doing well. We just have to stay focused on the success of the student, close communication between teachers and parents, and students need to be held accountable by parents and teachers. Due to the pandemic, some students haven't been to school "real school" for about 1 year and half. That's a long time. Start to stop blaming and stepping up to help our students succeed. Parents-teachers need you. Teachers -parents need you. We need to work together!

Zero stars for people that should be ashamed of themselves.

Nice to know what kind of school Winthrop Charter School in Riverview, FL really is. I got a call from the Principal, wondering if my child should be going there. He was accepted months ago. They read his IEP, and Dr’a letter (he does have ADHD). I was informed that if he has issues they do not have or be willing to provide resources for him and with a no tolerance policy he would be withdrawn from there. This is my 5 year old son supposed to be starting kindergarten, but I was encouraged to not bring him to Winthrop. I am keeping this clean and honest, but discrimination is not right on any level.
An educational institution turning a kid away without ever meeting him or him stepping foot on campus is deplorable. Winthrop doesn’t deserve my son.
