CHROMA HAIR STUDIO AND SPA, Fort Lauderdale FL

I relocated from Coral Gables to Las Olas, in need of a hairstylist that was in the area. I should have just made the hour drive to my hairdresser. This salon is UNPROFESSIONAL, UNSANITARY, RUNDOWN, and EXPENSIVE. From the moment you step inside, dust is evident everywhere. Staff reuses mixing bowls/ color bottles without properly sanitizing, hair accessories and tools are covered in dust and other clients hair. Maria (who is also the owner of the salon) and staff will speak badly of customers. During my bleaching process, everyone was by the register speaking badly about a customer who had just paid for their service and left. Remarks were made regarding her attitude, to the way she looked, and her weight. I focused on my phone and pretended to not pay attention but was truly stunned by their ruthlessness and unprofessionalism. It’s no wonder my hair took 2.5 hours to complete and why the salon was empty with 3 available hairdressers. After all of that, Maria had the audacity to ask me if I was interested to come in for follow up hair cut. I responded a simple “no, thank you”. At checkout, I was charged approximately $350 (no tip), for a balayage and blow dry. I’ve paid the same amount in a all white, luxurious, Coral Gables salon for a balayage service that included cut, blow dry, and tip! Save your time, money and dignity; and go somewhere else.

First time I went their for keratin and hair cut with Leslie. I was so satisfied with the results that lasted almost 3 months. But when I went back to color my virgin hair the results were very bad and I really asked for a very simple color (black blue) when I say it was bad it was reaaaaaaallllyyyy bad. My first time coloring my hair so supposedly to be very easy but she still didn’t get it right. Don’t go their if you’re trying to have a beautiful color.

I loooooove this place! Maria is absolutely amazing. I walk in and say I am your canvas and I just let her do her thing.she has rocked my world every time!
I love that there are peacock pictures all around and fun vibrations.
I had my hair highlighted and Maria used multi colored foils! Not just the shiny silver ones.the little things that make me happy here!

Called 10 times, left a voicemail, emailed. Mailbox is full now. IMPOSSIBLE TO GET IN TOUCH. Super bad first impression. Its been 8 days now, no communication. All i wanted to do was make an appt. Returning my groupon now. AVOID!

My son gave me a Groupon and Chroma is great! I went back again and now am making a third appointment! A very friendly and professional staff who know hair! Highly recommended! ***** - Newla

To start off everyone in the place was so nice and professional! Maria the owner is very accommodating, Marcy who did my hair was so fast and knowledgeable.i’m usually scared to try places for the first time but I have to say this was by far one of the best first time experiences I’ve ever had! So, yes I would recommended this place to everyone I know

Leslie is amazing, I love her!   She is extremely knowledgeable about the industry, products and tons of experience.   By the time she started my hair, I was a ease.   She did a fabulous job and I can't say, how much I love my hair!   My 1st time at the Salon and it won't be my last.   Thanks for the great experience!

Bought a groupon as I am a medical student who frankly doesn’t really have the time//money to get balayage more often than every year. I was so excited for a change finally but instead it’s made me so upset & made me regret my decision for going to this “salon”. The pics say it all. 4 different colors on my head. Orange, yellow, reds, & my natural hair color. It was supposed to be a balayage and instead they're chunky yellow/orange strips. Maria, the owner rushed through it extremely fast (which the other reviews say as well) & was not covering her nose with her mask. Extremely big scam, & a huge waste of money. Charges $50 for "lightener" & toner and then texts me saying I didn't tip her enough for ruining my hair haha. I have to spend double the amount of money to get it fixed elsewhere now: (AVOID THIS PLACE!

I went there today 1/28 at 10 am to get an estimate on a keratine treatment. A lady with orange hair was there. The moment I started talking to hair I realized that she was trying to get me out of their place with her attitud (barely greeted me). The whole time I was talking to her she kept her eyes on her computer. I was asking several questions and she told me "how many times I have to tell you the same thing" after that I just left. She was happy I left so that she can do her computer thing.
The owner lost a potential customer. That woman is making the owner lose business. Maria (owner) please get friendly employees that can help you make money and treat posprects with respect.

Literally the best keratin treatment for the best price. I always always always go back here, even though the parking is a bit of a hassle. Victoria works miracles!

If I could give zero stars for customer service I would. I bought a groupon for partial highlights and a conditioning treatment. When I called to schedule the appt.the woman who answered said “when would you like to come in” I asked if this weekend is too soon she yes they were booked the weekend. And then when I mentioned I had a Groupon she was booked till the end of July. Don’t advertise your product on Groupon if you will be bitter and resent the customers for buying. She hung up on me after I brought this point up. Very very very rude. Would never go or recommend. I canceled my Groupon immediately. Will be taking my Groupon elsewhere along with what would’ve been a very gracious tip. Not impressed! Worst customer service ever!
