Church of the Ascension, Fort Myers Beach FL

I attended Ascension Catholic Church for two years or more in 2014 etc. It is a beautiful church, and has a very powerful Presence of God, supported by the beach and Gulf of Mexico, and the Order of the Sisters of the St. Claire, a wonderful order of Nuns. I especialy remember, Father Bill, a truly wonderful Priest, the most intelligent and insightful of any I have ever known. He was so enlightened. Truly a gift from God.

I am here on vacation. I absolutely love this church. The mass was 40 minutes, instead of unnecessarily, one hour or longer, like some other churches. I will definitely consider this church when I come on vacation again. The homily was great; very inspirational, educational, short and to the point, unlike some other pastors that just talk and talk without end; boring and unnecessary.

We were at Easter Mass and it was so fast we were done in half an hour. Not even a homily. Did not seem like it was Mass.

Our family had a much different experience than the last review during our spring break visit to the area. We arrived 15 minutes before the start of Easter mass and the church was already busy. COVID protocols were being followed and everyone wore masks. The audience sat in quiet reverence and respect before the start of mass. The lector was excellent and Fr Adam’s is both a great homilist and speaker. If you are in the Fort Myers area would highly recommend this parish.

The pastor of this church gives the most thoughtful homilies i have ever heard. I have never felt closer to God anywhere.

We attended 9: 30 a.m. Mass on 1/17/21. My family was greatly looking forward to mass only to be absolutely horrified by the total disregard and complete disrespect that occurred during the ENTIRE mass. Cell phones ringing, people coming in and out of various doors, people congregating in the back of the church and engaging in entire conversations that were going on during ALL of the Mass, the Homily AND The Consecration! I was absolutely disgusted, embarrassed and so very sad. I prayed for you all during The Consecration. Our family was so unbelievably distracted that we have absolutely NO clue what the Gospel was even about. We hope you all succeeded in meeting your $10,000 goal. I will be sharing our experience with the Diocese AND Relevant Radio. Prayers for you all. Get it together!

Fastest Mass we have ever been to. Most of the Mass was read allowed at a rather fast pace. Didn't feel like a regular Mass compared to what we are used to at our home church.
