Cletus' Chicken Shack reviews
15The wings were pretty good, you only get 3 wings and maybe around 10 tater tots! The sandwich was good as well, the waffle was ok but the chicken was good. I loved the inside of the restaurant!
One of the worst dumps we've ever eaten at! My wife hated her food and none of my children would eat any of the slop that was served to them. All of it was merely a poor imitation of real food. Several of the menu items were unavailable when we arrived, and the fried chicken sandwiches we were served were undercooked. In addition to that, the disgusting tator totts that we we're served tasted like they had been defrosted for a while, refrozen, and then defrosted again before cooking. I've had better tots in an elementary school cafeteria. Later, that day my wife had symptoms of food poisoning as well that affected her for the entire week. This entire place is a lost cause and should be shut down permanently!
Atmosphere is great, however the ordering and checkout process is atrocious. It's very clear that they haven't been able to hire anyone of intelligence to resolve the mess that is this food court. The "chicken" did nothing to convince me that it wasn't fake chicken, and the tater tots are a crime against humanity. All for the one low price of $15. Only eat here if you're used to eating dirt or have no taste buds, which I suspect the other 5-star reviewers lacked.
Very basic dining experience (cafeteria-style) yet I was very happy with my order of a Chicken Waffle Sandwich served with maple syrup sauce, with a free added topping of lettuce! It’s cool but noisy inside. If lucky, there are tables outside to eat under the warm Florida sun!
Having been to universal studios many times my family were looking forward to eating at Springfield. We decided to have the chicken thumbs and tater tots at Cletus chicken shack.
Worst meal ever at universal, the chicken thumbs were so dry and salty we didn't eat them all and the tater tots were Luke warm at best.
So be warned.
Chicken was cold and uncooked. I really tasted the rat, and for the drink I got some moonshine but it tasted more like doctor pepper
Super friendly staff, gluten free options available. The chef was super knowledgeable about allergies, unlike other places I have gone to in the park. Will be coming back here. The atmosphere was cool too.
Terrible. Don’t waste your money. Got the waffle chicken sandwich. The waffles were soft, soggy and cold.
Definitely won’t be doing that again
Cletus' Chicken Shack staff members especially Christian need retraining on customer service and how to keep a line moving. He must not have been having a great day. But he is the type of person that should be sweeping up the park not interacting with customers that are paying for overpriced school cafeteria food.
If you choose this place, please place your order using the Universal Studios app so that you won’t suffer like we did. Here’s the kicker, when you get in the line when you walk in the building, you are in a combined line for all 5 restaurants. I thought they had a separate line for each restaurant but that is not how it works. It took us a minimum 35 to 40 minutes to place our order. I think Universal should have a clock that shows you how long the wait time will be just like they do for the rides. You also have more options in the app including curly fries. Don’t make the same mistake we made and try to order your food in person. All combos that are done in person come with tater tots. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was one of the driest sandwiches I have ever had. So glad I had some water. Understand these are all precooked items and they precook these in bulk. When you ask for a chicken sandwich and tots you get it instantly so understand this is not high quality. I’m not too picky but This is the true definition of Fast Food.
I don’t normally leave reviews. But i went here based on a good review. It was absolutely disgusting. Like it was seriously gross and I’m hoping this helps the next guest to avoid this place at all costs.
Got the chicken thumbs. It came with tator tots. Chicken was crispy, but lacked much flavor and it was a little dry, Luke warm. Tots were alright.
While the food was definitely overpriced for what little you receive (just as it will be anywhere in the park) we grabbed two chicken and waffle meals as a snack to hold us over until we got to our room. The food was nice and the experience was very fun for the whole family. There was one server who had a very snappy attitude with everyone however this was a unique and rare occurrence as everyone else was very kind and helpful. Overall I would recommend.
OMG such a horrible experience overall! So expensive and the food was horrific! Ordered chicken and corn on the cob I got 2 pieces of dry chicken and the wing piece still has the feathers? On it honestly it was disgusting also they were out of corn and was told to wait for 20 minutes to get it if I like! So expensive! Took an hour waiting in line just to order! Don’t recommend.
The chicken sandwich was pretty darn good to my shock. It was a real chicken breast, not a processed patty. But the star of the show for me were the tots: crispy, yet soft on the inside, fresh, and salted properly.
I created my own buffalo chicken sandwich by asking for buffalo sauce in a bowl, and then once seated, coating the chicken breast in the sauce. I then added blue cheese dressing on top. Voila! I'm a pickle fanatic, so it was a bummer there were none available.
Overall: great value for the size of the combo, $15. Universal Studios has really upgraded the quality of food in the quick service areas. I don't mind spending money to make my tummy happy.
