Coast Dental, Gainesville FL

I love the staff, and the dentist (Dr. Gallup) is very knowledgeable and has great communication skills. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because of the long wait. They were very busy that day. Christina was the hygienist and she also was very knowledgeable, great personality. I’ll be going back!

I have had great experiences at this location after having a bad experience at the Coast Dental on Newberry Rd. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and seem to really enjoy their work. They aren't judgemental or try to scare the patient into spending more money. I definitely recommend the Coast dental on NW 34th St.

First, I would like to say the scheduling was very easy. The service my son received was such a welcoming experience. The staff gave my son and I detailed explanation of the care he was receiving. It was a great experience and I highly recommend this clinic.

I don’t understand how this office has so many good reviews when they cancel every appointment you make. I have been trying to get into this dentist for a year to just do an annual exam because I know I have cavities and things that need to be addressed. I have been canceled on and rescheduled 10+ times. The one time I was able to get in for an emergency appointment and tooth extraction they told me I’d have to bill my insurance. I said okay, even though that is not my responsibility, and payed my procedure out of pocket. Called my insurance after, they told me there is no way for a policy holder to submit a claim. Tried to call coast dental to have them refund my payment and bill my insurance, I’ve left voicemails for them to call me back and no one has. Canceling on me again this past Thursday was the last straw. Especially for someone that is in pain and has been for months. It’s a shame because the dentist and assistants were very nice.

My initial visit with Coast Dental today was outstanding! I was truly impressed with the hygienist (Madison Moore) who is extremely knowledgeable, caring and skilled in her trade putting me at ease with my appointment. A great first impression on a new dental provider.

Took a whole day off. Set to go to my first visit and very excited and they cancel. That just goes to show the type of place this is. I'm sure they had other doctors that could have seen me but instead they decided to ask me to wait another week. Very professional business they are running. I recommend not going here.

From the first initial visit we both had in mind what we wanted/need for my dental health we came up with a plan and right away got started I’m so excited in the direction we are going the drs and staff are so nice and efficient I highly recommend

Booked an appointment 2 months out, because it was the first available date. Upon arrival after taking time off from work was told had to reschedule. Even though I received a confirmation text the day before. Was told they attempted to call last week but were unable to contact me. However looking back at my phone there was never an attempt. NOT A VERY GOOD START.

After having to make a 2nd trip because of plumbing issue in the office on day of my appointment, I was in & out pretty quickly. The hygienist did a good job explaining the device I will have to wear & how to care for it.

Unfortunate there’s not an option for minus stars considering the scammers this dental practice are. I had to wait months for an appt for annual exam and cleaning, verified they accepted both my 2022 and 2023 coverage. From the get-go, and with every communication along the way, i stated the main purpose/need was i needed my teeth cleaned. They were cagey and would not commit to a cleaning. They wanted me there an hr early to fill out paperwork, and at ck in i reiterated i needed a cleaning. When they took me in for xrays, they presented me with a charge for the xrays. I said i have never had to pay for xrays while having dental coverage. I said i did not believe them that my plan didn't cover xrays and that i didn’t need or want xrays anyway That i was there to get my teeth cleaned, and asked if i was indeed going to get a cleaning, and was then told no, their hygienist was not available! I told them they’d wasted my time and immediately left their premises. I called my healthcare plan, rep assured me my plan most indeed covered such xrays and cleaning. Filing an official grievance with my plan about Coastal Dental, 34th St location; and will do so with the state regulatory oversight, BBB, online reviews, and possibly also Medicare. Never let a provider get away with this kind of B. S!

Dr Gallup is great! Very personable - he takes time and explains everything thoroughly. Reina is extraordinary! Knowledgeable and efficient, she makes you comfortable and relaxed. Jessica and Melissa are both helpful. Everyone is friendly - great experience!

I made an appointment online and they texted me Confirming the appointment. They sent me a link to their website to do all my insurance and medical paperwork. Got all that done. Day of appointment shows up. I take off of work, check kids out of school and drive 20 minutes to their office. When I am checking in they say they don’t have an appointment. They say if I do it online it’s not a real appointment. I’m flabbergasted! You choose to employ this system of making appointments online and don’t answer the phone or return phone calls. How am I supposed to get a real appointment? ! She says she can make an appointment for a month away. My son has a cavity and pain! He can’t wait a month! If they can’t figure out how to make appointments correctly how am I supposed to trust them in my mouth!

I called my healthcare plan administered by United Healthcare, rep assured me my plan most indeed covered such xrays and two cleanings a year. Their clinic was dated, cluttered in the back area and didn't seem all that clean. There was also building debris out on the sidewalk in front of their clinic - blocking wheelchair access and a hazard for anyone with mobility challenges. I have filed an official grievance with my plan's Medicare team about Coastal Dental, 34th St location; and will do so with the Florida state regulatory oversight, possibly also Medicare directly, negative reviews on Yelp and BBB - Gainesville FL, and any other online review options. If you read this 34th St location's YELP reviews, they are pulling these same scams on other patients. Never let a provider get away with this kind of B. S!

Miss Madison Moore is the best hygienist I have had in a long time! Somehow she manages to be gentle enough that it doesn’t hurt to have my file scraped tooth by tooth, yet she uses the perfect amount of force to clean every single pearly to its whitest. Then the polishing part… Who doesn’t love that? ! Already ready for my next six months visit! The best mention is Jessica at the front desk. She is the bees knees, life-saving type of receptionist every company should have.able to make rescheduling of breeze during times of stress, Jessica put my mind at ease with a simple voicemail. What a great bunch of ladies! Thank you individually and as a whole… This team is one in 1 million.

First visit by Webcam felt like it was a complete waste of time other than to earn them more money by requiring a repeat visit to be looked at in person by a dentist. 2nd visit, to finally get seen by a Dentist in the flesh, was a wait of an hour just to be seen. The place is not kept maintained aesthetically. It doesn't feel like a place you'd receive better care than that.

Wonderful. New office staff are super friendly and competent. What a pleasure.
Doc Simon is one of the most interesting and intelligent people I know. Obviously competent and caring.

This place it's been a minute since I been with them they change staff so much not to mention the receptionist is very rude and ghetto try to be something more than she isn't the office manager if u ask me the receptionist runs that office the manager just lets the staff talk to u any kind of way but when u snap back it's a problem. Service is slow the office NEVER answers the phone so u literally have to drive to the office for help or get the customer service people and they can't do much of nothing but make a appointment but when u need to speak directly to them u are going to have a problem. Nothing but a bunch of young students in that office need more training with everything don't waste your time you will be disappointed the Ocala office where I'm originally from is wayyyyy better lots of ol skool staff been in the dentistry game awhile that know what there doing respectful nice all the staff are kind and they answer the phone every time u call try the Ocala office it's worth the drive and thank me later.

I have been going there for Periodontal Cleanings for years. Kept asking them why my insurance was only paying 5.00 toward visit. Told that was up to the insurance co. So I dropped the insurance and suddenly the procedure cost was more than double. I lost 850.00 last year on my flexible spending account because your office couldn't provide me with the proper documentation and the account was frozen. This latest issue was the final straw, you have lost my business.

Doctor B is fantastic both professionally in his skill and personally in his patient care interactions. However, the office administration is horrible. Telephone calls come through too garbled to understand, emails don't get sent, the computer system for verifying Insurance coverage is down. Further phone calls don't get answered and messages left don't get returned. And they have an outside company or division that manages their text messages and other patient phone calls that apparently does not communicate at all with the staff in the actual office nor vice versa. So if you're willing to waste a couple of trips that don't actually get you seen and wait till everything eventually works out after you put in the extra effort you will likeky be satisfied with doctor B's care.
