Comfort Inn & Suites Maingate South, Davenport FL

The lady at the front desk was pleasant enough. I requested and was given a corner room which I appreciated. It was a double queen room facing I-4. Surprisingly quiet even with the non-stop overnight traffic. The room was clean overall and had no odd odors. Complaints are minor therefore the 4/5 star rating. Beds had very squeaky frames which kept waking me back up right when I was about to fall asleep. There were some sticky looking stains on box spring cover. The soap bars were tiny, and barely created suds. Fortunately, I had brought my own liquid body wash soap to use. And finally, the shower head was cheap-o and had no adjustments.

Clean, comfy bed. Staff are all incredibly nice and polite. The lobby smelled amazing as soon as I walked in. Very nice hotel.

Absolutely disgusting. As soon as we opened the door there were roaches everywhere. Didn't even set our stuff down just left and got a refund and a half a**ed "sorry bout that".

Dirty. Not well kept. First room AC didn't work, room was hot as hell. Asked to change rooms and got attitude. Finally changed room and it was decent. First room had a terrible smell. Dirty bathroom, no cold water. Pool area very dirty.

The carpet in the rooms feel filthy and haven't been vacuumed, the curtains have oil stains all over them, there is random furniture stored in the stairwell, vending machines and ice machines are empty, many parking spots are taken up by semis that are idling, random mattresses and garage is dumped in the parking lot, and the on ramp to I-4 that the motel is right next to us always congested with cars moving at a crawl. Stay elsewhere.

This hotel certainly do not look like it's posted. You should be able to smoke in the room. Now you picture it from there. My refrigerator smell like old fish

Do not do business with this company. I made a simple mistake and booked an incorrect date.

I noticed the mistake 1 minute after the mistake and called to either transfer the booking or obtain a refund.

They very selfishly said they wouldn't do either.

This is not how you do business. This is what you call a greedy company taking advantage of a simple mistake.

Hope everyone reads this and shows this arrogant company that you don't treat people like that.

Ok let me start saying that customer service is ok, but the rooms for $250 a night is not worth the money drive the extra 30 minutes to Kissimmee or orlando and you will be happy, no cleaning service what so ever

Not the worst I’ve stayed in. But wow - awful. Had booked a few rooms for coworkers and I. Right off the bat, during check in, he managed to give a few of us the same room - which wasn’t realized until someone was walked in on. One room had a toilet leaking from the bottom when you flushed it (that they didn’t attempt to fix or help with at all, just gave my coworker more towels) and one had a leaking shower. My room had a chair in it with a curious amount of stains - why did they not just remove the chair? I don’t know. Stains all over the floor too, so maybe it’s a theme. Beds appeared clean.

I was completely dissatisfied with my stay. The room smelled like mildew, and between the bowl and the rim of the toilet was black; indicating for me that housekeeping that day did not complete their job properly. I did notify the front desk about the smell in the room and was told that someone was going to come up to freshen up the room. Upon arrival of one the employees she had explained that she was told to just an bring air freshener, but then said she going to call someone else because she was in charge of laundry that day not cleaning. Keeping a positive attitude about the situation I assumed once I would returned back to the room from my day it would have been better. But to my disappointment the room wasn’t, making the night difficult to sleep due to the stench. I will also add one of the nights the T. V flickered and the fitness room was filthy. I had chose this hotel because of the great reviews and ratings I read, but I will have to respectfully disagree on those opinions. The front desk staff were kind and breakfast was fine as well, but unfortunately I will have to say that I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I would normally never write a review much less one that is negative, but others need to be really informed.

Zero stars is my actual rating (I had to give one star to post a review on this site)! The trash can in my room had trash in it when I checked in. Generally not clean also. The building is very close to I-4, the highway noise is unbearable.

My last stay was three nights long. I received no room service during my stay. Had to take my own trash, and had to go to the front desk on my last night for clean towels. The breakfast is minimal compared to other places in the same price range.

RUN! We walked in after a long drive and saw three roaches! Disgusting we left right away….
And they were charging 250 a night!

The room was in need of extra cleaning. Beds were fine but bathroom, was smelly because of shower curtain, and furniture was stained with who knows what. Remote was missing back. Ok for a night, but that's it.

I WOULD NOT recommend this hotel when looking for acceptable accommodations because you will find the opposite of that! The owner was absolutely rude and nonchalant. I had an A/C issue the entire 5 days of my stay. The owner suggested that I “take a cold shower and get over it man”. He then threatened to throw me out because I called him out on the lack of responsibility and acknowledgment to the many problems that plagued his facility. Filthy carpet, dirty “clean” towels, dripping faucets, non working A/C units just to name a few. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to stay! If I could give less than 1 star, I would!

Rooms where disgusting. Smelled damp and gross, the AC didn't work. The faucets where rusted and had bugs coming out of the sink. I am not exaggerating when I say this is the most disgusting place I have ever stayed. Everytime I left the room my key would stop working and I would have to go to the front desk and get a new key. The staff at the front desk never picked up the phone and didn't seem to care about any of my complaints. The toilet handle was also broken and the bath faucet would not shut off all the way. There was clear damage to the walls in the bathroom as there was a terrible plaster and paint job done on it. Only 1 outlet in the entire room worked, the phone was disconnected and the clock was broken. Even the TV remote didn't have the backing on it so the batteries would constantly fall out. Also they don't even give you a full size pillow they give you two half pillows. The location is also complete garbage, you need to drive down the road and take a u turn if you aren't on the right side of the road as there is only one entrance from one side. Your closet view is of a run down old gas station. Do NOT STAY HERE

We stayed for 4 nights and first of all the room a/c wasn't working correctly it was really hot. We called front desk and they came to the room to check it and when he took the filter out it was full of dust, he then told us that he would reboot the breaker but never did as problem was not resolved. The fridge was full of ice and it had other stuff from past guests; probably didn't check it. We found roaches in the bathroom and in the beds; it was a bad experience. Breakfast was ok. Service wasn't great. There was mold under the sink too and there was a soap bar in the toilet and it was like glued to it because we flush the toilet and stayed there.

Charged for a "damaged comforter" that was like that when I got to the room. I left a note for housekeeping not to reuse the comforter that was gross. Call the hotel about the Also Killed 3 roaches in the room. Water in the tub leaked all night no matter what I did to turn it off. Had to shut the door to not hear it.

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. When we got to our room, we noticed a strong smell of cigarettes. We immediately notified the front desk and he said he would be right up. He never showed. When I checked my credit card statement, I saw I was charged a random $100 from the hotel on top of their room rate charge. I contacted the GM who said it was for "smoking in the room". I have never smoked in my life and was traveling with children as well. I have since disputed this fraudulent charge with Amex. Do not stay with these con artists.

We rented a King suite for 5 days, there was a group of us, 6 rooms total, we ALL got sick from breathing the NASTY air from the wall unit AC/ Heat. Looking inside the unit the filter was NASTY, hair was flying out the vent. There was a nasty hair tie next to the couch (not ours) saw it as soon as we enter the room, the pillows are extremely OLD, they were used for so many years no support at all, very very small. The pull out sofa bed is GROSS, and OLD, the springs are poking you when you lay down, the cushions, back and armrests are extremely filty and dusty. I've never seen a coffee maker gross as this one in the room, haven't been washed, the white hard water stains are all over inside, the bathroom sink water takes forever to go down, the bath tub had yellow and black stains inside, anytime you take a shower the bathroom floor is flooded, the water runs down at the end of the tub, had to take a towel and put it to soak up the water to avoid flooding, no fan in the bathroom. The walls are chipped and patched raw, this hotel is very run down for the price you pay, the state of Florida needs to look into the conditions before permitting operation. Doesn't look anything close as you seen in these pictures. Our room cards doesn't work properly, everytime we have to come back down to the front desk. They had sooo many lame excuses, we putting the cards here, and there and it de magnetize the strip, where else than our wallet we should keep the cards?
