Community Physicians North Port reviews
12Can’t say anything about doctors since after encountering with the front staff my desire to be seen at this place disappeared completely. Very rude people working there.
I started with Community Physicians because I wanted a more personable experience and believed this office would be a good option. Dr Meleks herself was very short, as in she couldn't be bothered to listen to my concerns. My follow up appointment was with a visiting physician because Dr Meleks was on leave. I later received a letter stating that Dr Masi would be taking over her patients. The front office staff and medical assistants were great throughout my time as a patient. I would not recommend this office to anyone.
I went to Dr Meleks for over 30 years. Since the office moved and Meleks retired things have been awful. I was switched without asking to Dr. Masi, I have had 5 or more appointments and have yet to see him as my doctor. I've been pushed off on physician assistants. All have been nice, but their inexperience caused me major health issues. I was prescribed a medication that extremely lowered my blood sugar to the point of not being able to function for a week. I called to take myself off it. They are truly about the money in this office now. I've been charged for services that use to be included in office visits. They also use to call with test results, but now you need another appointment. I waited for results for weeks nor knowing the new policy. I was extremely đeficient in one of my results and they never called to inform me causing medical issues. I've recommended family and friends to this place. Never again and I'm searching for a new one now.
I was a patient of Dr. Meleks for years, unfortunately she retired. I saw a PA who told me she could do nothing for me, wrote down on a piece of paper a CBD cream for my back and told me to get it. That was the five minutes she spent with me. I had a carotid ultrasound and it took 1 month to get the results. I needed a refill on a med, it took 9 days and phone calls from me to finally get it. My advice is to stay away from this place!
I've been seeing Dr. Masi for 18 years. He was good in the beginning but lately he has gotten a bit careless with his employees. It took me 10 days to get a refill and he blamed the pharmacy. I discussed this with his nurse and with Dr. Masi and he got upset with me. It was not the pharmacy's fault. I also complained about being charged for a carotid scan that is included in my annual wellness visit. I told him it was free at RAVE and he just said "go to RAVE then" and stormed out of the room. He then discharged me with no reason given, discharged my wife (who had no dog in this fight) and also my step son (who also had no dog in this fight). How rude and inconsiderate after 18 years. Do not go here if you have an opinion on your own health treatment because he doesn't really give a s***.
They (DR. Massi) were unwilling to work with me on documents needed for work about my AA meetings needed for my alcoholism, THEN charged me $80 for a 5min visit in which they did NOTHING! Do not use!
Massi is a grumpy old man that only cares about money and not his patients, don't go here its the lowest rated physicians office in North Port for a reason
Should be zero stars. Clearly, he treats staff terrible. They are over worked and are never able to return calls. Since, Meleks retired, I thought I would try to continue with the practice. In April 2021, it took me over 2 weeks and repeated phone calls to have any prescription issues resolved. Scheduled with the “new PA”- Dayhanna Gonzales (2020 graduate). Horrible experience. After taking blood pressure medicine prescribed by Masi, Meleks and this practice for over 5 years, Dayhanna says, “Bystolic is not for blood pressure”. What? !? ! She was wrong, and couldn’t say “we need to add an additional medication. ” Wanted me to pay for EKG via (ABN), again another joke. Told me to go to “ED”. Aka ER. Refused to give me a referral for cardiologist. Quote, “It is on Dr Masi’s desk. ” from the medical assistant who called back 4 days later. One week later, decided to go to a real Medical Doctor in North Port. Who indeed confirmed that Bystolic is for BP. Long story short, stay away from this mess of a practice. Not worth your health nor your money. BTW- no ER visit and new provider is treating me well. So, much more to say, but the bottom line. Find another medical provider!
After relocating to Florida my husband and I had to chose a doctor. This doctor was recommended to us. What we weren't told was how slow his office is in response time. I've had to to the leg work to retrieve paperwork and information because the assigned staff never responded to the hospital or health insurance. Unfortunately, I can not recommend him unless his staff is trained correctly in providing response to their patients.
I love Dr. Meleks and her nurse. I’ve been her patient for 5 years. As a nurse myself, I want someone who is thorough, gives referrals and follows up. She does that and more. I wish they had more patient portal services or app/website for improved patient access to their health info.
Horrible experience, was misdiagnosed with bronchitis when I specifically asked the doctor if he was sure it wasn't the flu which he chuckled and said no not at all. He proscribed me with 2 rounds of antibiotics that had 0 effect on me, I got much worse to where I came back feeling like death. Sure enough it was flu B. This establishment is a joke, they did not notify me that the flu test was $135 before getting my consent to proceed. I would highly suggest going somewhere.
I have been a patient of Dr Juan Masi for more than 12 years, and he has provided exceptional medical services for me throughout my bouts of anemia caused by Crohn’s. He has also carefully managed my blood work on a monthly basis and recommended specialists as required. He is courteous, personable, thorough, patient and forthright, all with a subtle sense of humor. All that one would look for in a primary care physician.
