I am very pleased with the service I received. Called needed three units looked at as we were leaving town. They sent Matt who I felt was very knowledgeable. Service was very efficient and pricing seemed fair. Will recommend to others.

Right from the first phone call, everyone was so polite, knowledgeable the service man was also very polite was cautious about his shoes after $ years here this was my first pleasant experiance.

After my unit went out, I reached out to a few companies to get replacement estimates. Among them was Cook's. I contacted the Ocala office number and scheduled an appointment, the earliest being in the morning several days out. The during the three hour appointment window, I received numerous calls and texts to verify the appointment (important later). After seeing this, I was annoyed but responded since I had already cleared my morning for this. I met with Dakota, though nice and thorough in providing options, said he would send me the quote in a few hours. I waited until the evening to tell him that I had not received any information yet, just to be told it failed to go through but did so when I had asked. I reviewed the details of the offer and decided to go with a new unit from Cook's after some clarification. I was reluctant to pay in full, so I responded and provided all of my personal information for the financing application. I informed Dakota that I completed the application and let me know what is next. Nothing. The weekend had passed and still nothing. I reached out to him again and nothing. I called the office only to be told they would follow up with him. Nothing. I called again after some time and still got no response. After providing all of my personal, social, and license information, I was ghosted. No one bothered to assist even though I said I still wanted them to set me up with a unit. I am glad I didn't pay up front.

Cooks - more like Crooks. Stay far, far, away!

We purchased a brand new air conditioning and heating system from Cooks around 2019 to the tune of $6K. The unit came with a warranty, which was great, until we found out it’s because you’re going to need it. The blower in our system died at only a year old and it took a good week to get it repaired, after paying for labor. Fast forward two years and the part went out again, this time in June. We paid the $150 service call fee and was told they would “911” the part, which should have us running again in one week. Being June in Florida at more than 100 degrees in our home with dogs and a toddler - we had to seek other lodging. We spent $300 on a hotel, $100 on gas running back and forth to home, and crashed on family members couches to pass the week. Our deadline passed with no word from Cooks. After calling them, we were told the part “had no tracking coming from the factory” and nobody in the area had one, so they had no clue when it would be here. They wouldn’t offer any help, just a “we will call when it gets here”. We went and spent $900 on window units for our home so we could return because hotels weren’t practical. A few more weeks pass with routine calls and same answers from Cooks. We asked to speak to a manager on more than 6 occasions and none of our calls were returned. Finally, after another week a manager TEXTED and said they were sorry. Two months go by and still no air in the Florida summer. Another phone call and we were told the part was “delivered” a month ago but they couldn’t find it - funny considering there is no tracking? Found out they waited a month to reorder the missing part, leaving the children and my first responder family member in the heat. More calls and demands to speak to a manager continue to go unanswered.

Today, they finally show up to put in the blower and bring a part that doesn’t work. I wasted my time sitting with the tech, watched him pour sweat, to find out it doesn’t work. Another promise to “911” a new part. When does it end?

With the tech here, I called and demanded a manager. The secretary claimed the tech didn’t call them and tell them what happened - though I watched him call. Claims the manager is busy and will call me back. They offer a “rescue blower” to get our system online - WHY COULDNT YOU DO THIS TWO MONTHS AGO? ! Poor secretary calls to update me on the unit and the manager still hasn’t called. The parts they “couldn’t get” are in Georgia.

My power bill is up $150 a month running window units, I had to buy them, my kid can’t sleep in his room it’s so hot, and I can’t even get a phone call. Plus I’ve paid my $120 bill on this unit that doesn’t even work twice at this point.

THEY WANTED $300 FOR THIS VISIT WHERE NOTHING WORKED!

Long story short - Crooks doesn’t care about their customers, they have managers too scared to talk to their customers, and they will take your money and run for the hills. Do yourself the favor and spend your money elsewhere. Else you’ll be sweating your butt off and writing a bad review instead of talking out your issues with a human being.

Oh and since they like to say they don’t have you as a customer on the bad reviews - look up 35th Terrace Rd.

Been using Cook's air conditioning repair for several years. Great communication, fast service, and membership is thorough and has helped our AC last way beyond it's expiration date with having maintenance every six months. Top quality repair techs Craig is awesome. Dont hesitate to use Cook's.

Craig was knowledgeable, quickly diagnosed the issue, had the correct parts to repair it, quickly fixed the issue and answered all our questions. I know people and he is an honest man. Would definitely recommend him and Cooks. Will also definitely use him/them again.

All the people I had contact with were both very professional and extremely competent. When they discovered that my whole system needed to be replaced they jumped into action and got the parts and did the installation in a couple of days. I would recommend Cook’s in a heartbeat. Great company!
