Coral Gables Police Department

Yesterday morning the CGPD had a sting operation pulling over Motorist that have tints on their front window. I have had them for 5yrs and this is the first I've heard of it.
I was flabbergasted to be told it's against the law. The officer actually asked me WHY I had tints? I responded that's it's South FL and almost 100° daily.
Had he advised me and given me a warning, I would not so gladly remove the windshield tint but for them to set up a literal "sting" as soon as one enters Coral Gables on the corner of Red Rd and Coral Way seems like a terrible waste of precious time and resources. I believe the residents of CG likely would prefer their police to fight more serious crime. It's terribly inhospitable to be greeted that way. Also, 129.00 for the ticket is criminal in and of itself. Do we have no recourse?

The police threaten you and use Intimidation to do their job. I am pretty disgusted with the officer I spoke with. He give me a ticket right away but was threatening me with another ticket because I said I have insurance but he walked away too fast. When I said that he gave me another ticket and came back and kept threatening me with tickets. I didn’t say anything because I don’t understand why coral gables hired police that have to use intimidation and threats to speak with people? Speaking of today (check the date) the palmetto was blocked and this is basically the only time I have driven through coral gables and wow.

For a police agency in a city with a huge tax base, they should equip their officers with body cam devices. It's 2023.

This police department is the worst they are the first one that steals from the people “when they are working” they were searching my car and they stole my school bag, my bag and some personal stuff… you don’t need to be scared of the people you should be scared of this “officers”

Yes I was speeding. The cop literally jumped out of the bushes on Bird Rd speed trap. I had license, insurance and registr current, was respectful, had my hands on steering where he could see them. When he asked for my license I told him I was reaching into my purse for it, etc. Would it have killed him to be kind back? Also he gave the ticket for the full mph over, not even one less. I was nervous and forgot to mention I just moved into Coral Gables. Either way, he’s disgusting. Feels like that’s the mentality of this city police station.

I needed my fingerprints done for the Registered Board of Nursing and the officer who helped me with this was super professional and polite. I know every person has their own point of view, which is Ok and understandable, but remember that police members work under a lot of stress and difficult settings, so they deserve all the respect.

Tyranny at its best here just come on down and they will make sure you get a nice room at the jail house

I called to request for officer to enforce an existing law in place not allowing work crews to work on Sundays especially to perform noisy work, I chose to stay anonymous but they refused service unless I provided my name and phone number. I am a tax paying citizen

Your officers are liars and love to pull over people for no reason while we have people with no insurances running the streets, people running red lights, people driving reckless near coral.great to see officers doing "real" work when there is much more out there. "good job"

I remember coming here and the elevators were broken, I have a health issue and had a hard time walking up the stairs. The new employed guide at the time was kind to me and tried to help me get through it, a big cop guy with a bald head and slanted eyes told me I needed to be glad I didn't need to walk more steps. Who says that to a sick person? I nearly passed out, whole experience was only made better by my kind guide.

The team put on a great show and fell for local kids. Great bunch of people. Their latest location is state of the art.

I have yet to hear back on my complaint. I also have another complaint that I'm going to file against the Coral Gables Police Department & the City Of Miami for getting assaulted while in police custody & in the presence of Police. Also for Negligence, failure to render aid & being denied medical assistance for the injuries I sustained from the vicious attack.

These PO in CG have no real crimes to fight, instead, harass drivers taking their kids to school. You must feel VERY THOUGH writing that ticked with partial trunk blocking pedestrian lane with NO pedestrians around. Pitiful!

The police officers at this station do a really good job responding to neighbors' noise complaints, and this is so essential for the residents now as more and more people are staying at home.

The station is orderly and super clean. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Services were efficient and timely. Special thanks to Jessica at finger prints department for the kindness and caring attitude.
