Country Skillit, Lake City FL

The service was excellent, and the food was decent and reasonably priced. The waitress was helpful and efficient. We like that the entire menu is available all day. I ordered the hamburger combo. For $10.99 it included the burger, fries, and a drink. Husband ordered eggs, grits, sausage, and biscuit. He felt that the biscuit was over baked, and then it was toasted which dried it out more. The tabletops, counter top, paint, has seen better days, however it was clean. Bottom line, we would eat there again.

I love mom & pop diners. This one checks off all the boxes. Good quality fresh food served hot. Fast friendly staff. This is place you are looking for. (Said in my Jedi mind control voice). My friend ordered the veggie omelet and wolfed it down. I ordered the cheeseburger omelet with jalapeño peppers added. While failing to read the part about ketchup and mustard in the ingredients. Now, mind you, I like both in turn on a lot of different foods. Have discovered omelets are not one of them. Am just as sure this will probably appeal to a lot of good folk. I'm not one of them, however. Our waitress Emma was great! I'll be back. Next time we'll hold the ketchup and mustard.

2nd time here, brought new people with us. It was just SOOO good. Simple and fresh. We had various omelets, home fries, grits and pancakes—one better than the other! Food was hot and good portions (and reasonably priced). Our server was Averi and she was great! Welcoming, sweet, attentive and just overall awesome. We HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!

The food was delicious! My husband, my daughter and I enjoyed it very much. Our server destiny was very professional and amazing server and Charlie the owner is the best cook hands-down the food is phenomenal the service is extraordinary I recommend any and everyone to go. 10-STARS!

Purple Haze and SBT schedules matched up and it was time to Ride. It was going to be a morning ride with breakfast on the menu. I chose Country Skillit and this would be Haze's first time. Haze order the Biscuits & Gravy with Scrambled eggs and Hashbrowns with an extra helping. Haze literally destroy his Biscuits & Gravy with out breathing. He loved this old time diner breakfast meal. I got Pam's Breakfast and I got the French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon and grits. It was a Fantastic breakfast. Definitely better than a chain breakfast place. I would strongly advise to stop by. It is seat yourself so you want to kinda time it right cause it can get packed real quick but has been worth it each time

Didn’t regret!

I like to think I'm sort of a regular here. Sweat Tea is just right, and the the Cornbeef Hash Skillet with green peppers and Mushrooms is my Favorite. Never wait to long for food, and my tea glass is always full.
I would recomend to a friend.

I watched the Heavy set cook sort through the cooked bacon with his bare hand and put it on a customer's plate.
Disgusting, I'm a regular customer and will not go back.

This has become my favorite stop when traveling in and out of Florida. Small spot with amazing service and food. Great friendly staff that bust the behinds to keep this place great. Do not pass it up if your hungry and on the area!

Such a fantastic place, the food was great and the people are great I ordered my 2 year old the grilled cheese and knew he wasn’t very hungry… he didn’t really eat any of it and the man behind the counter insisted on making a new one for us to take home. I wish I could give more than 5 stars

Great little spot for breakfast. They only have four person booths and a bar to sit at so any party larger than four will have to separate. Other than that the food was excellent and the service was great.

Friendly atmosphere with all the country locals. Great service. Full as a tick when I left.

It’s was decent food and prices was reasonable. It was the better choice to eat at for what was available in that little area. I had grilled chicken breast and two vegetables. Husband has a full breakfast for dinner. We enjoyed it.

If you are looking for a little out of the way breakfast place where they are happy to see you, this is the place. It’s a greasy spoon full of locals but even strangers are welcome.

My wife and l have stopped twice in the last two months. We find the Country Skillit l would recommend to anyone. We live in Zephyrhills, FL. My Brother lives in Ft White. We'll be stopping in every Month

Nice little place down from the TA. 5 minute walk. Good food and fast service and it was packed. Wish yall had real butter fir them pancakes. Nice having a reasonably priced restaurant near the truckstop. Much better food than the attached place to the TA

My significant other and I stopped for breakfast on the way back from Ginnie Springs. All of the food was extremely bland. I ordered the corn beef hash country skillet, and he ordered the country fried steak country skillet. The potatoes were mediocre, the corn beef hash was a frozen block they threw on the griddle and it was over processed, the onions/peppers/mushrooms were raw and not really sautéed at all, then the country fried steak had zero flavor. The kitchen wasn’t that clean either. I will say the eggs were cooked really well and the coffee was good for dinner coffee. Personally I wouldn’t eat here again.

This is a great small cozy restaurant served with awesome food and a very friendly environment. Although I did notice that there was only one server at there busiest time she did a great job and our service and food was beyond way to go.

Been living around Lake city for years and never stopped in to this place until today, and boy am I glad I did! I ordered the Philly steak and out of all the places in Lake City this place and 1 other have amazing cheese steak! The staff was very nice and the place was clean and welcoming. If you are wanting some good southern comfort food this is the place, we will definitely be coming back to try more on the menu
