Courtyard by Marriott Fort Lauderdale East/Lauderdale-by-the-Sea

First of all, let me say, I’m not even a person to write a review, but the condition of this hotel was completely unacceptable. I am a Titanium member, so I visit a lot of courtyards all across the United States and I know what a Courtyard room is suppose to look like The room that I was placed in for my one night stay at this hotel would’ve made me never want to stay in another courtyard had I not known what to expect from an actual Courtyard. I was very upset with the conditions of the room and I felt like I was in Best 4 Less 3 hours for $15 type motel. This room should’ve never been occupied by anyone to be rented because it’s not in condition for anyone. It was still dirty and nasty and did not meet Courtyard standards. Even after speaking with the management no one offered me a different room or anything the attendant just said I'm sorry. It was already late and I was only there a night so I went to Walmart and brought sheet to sleep under. A complete disappointment is the best I can say about this Courtyard!

I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Fort Lauderdale East last month and the hotel left a lot to be desired. I do not understand the positive reviews for this place. I changed rooms after my first night there because the walls were so thin between my room and the one above me. I could hear people above me flushing the toilet, walking around, dragging things across the ground, talking at 4am in the morning for over an hour. Then promptly at 8am housekeeping would begin loudly talking and laughing in the hallway. Since the hotel rooms all have a large gap under the door you can hear every noise that is made in the hallway especially when people are being extremely loud. I also noticed that the water in the bath tub was bright yellow with a greasy residue in it. Due to these things, I asked to change rooms and was moved to the fifth floor. Before I moved to my new room I alerted the front desk to the yellow greasy water coming out of the faucet in my old room and was told  by the desk attendant that it was a naturally occurring enzyme or something that's found in Florida water. Okay? In my new supposedly clean room I encountered additional issues, but this time more with cleanliness. There were red brown stains on the carpet not sure if it was blood or something else, mold looking stains on the back of the pillows, and a small live roach on the shower floor. I also noticed that the bed headboard and wall had some greasy lube or oil looking stains on them. Again, I encountered the same issues with noise as well with housekeeping being extremely loud early in the morning laughing, yelling etc. Again since the hotel door has a big gap underneath, it does not block out the noise of the hallway. I definitely would never stay at this hotel again. Plus the location is off of a busy highway like road with nothing really in walking distance. It is not in walking distance or in view of the beach or any restaurants or stores besides cvs. Please pick another hotel if you want to have a good vacation.

Don't expect a 5 star Luxus hotel. You can hear the AC, the traffic from the street or the ice machine on the floor. Bed was great, lot of USB connector to charge whatever you have to charge. There is a little fridge in the room. You have free WiFi and a working desk which was quite big. There where two thread Mill in the fitness center, but one was broken. We reported it but no one was able to fix it. Pool was good. There is at the beginning not that deep, but if You swim to the other side, you can deep impressive deep. All in one, I had a good stay for my business trip.

The front desk clerk had a little attitude when I arrived to check-in. She wasn't welcoming AT ALL! Well to the white people she was which she made that very clear. I had to get my room changed three times because the first 2 rooms the ac was not working correctly and one the phones as well wasn't working in one of the rooms. When I checked out she also had the same little attitude towards me. I did NOT like my stay there at all.

I went to Miami for a convention and discovered that hotels there weren’t very good. Fortunately, I came to Fort Lauderdale and fortunately I found this hotel. The price is great, the hotel was fairly new, the rooms were really clean and really nice. The staff was great. If I come back toward Miami. I’m going to book here.

Only a few miles to beach. Cafe is only so so.
There is a great Mexican restaurant within walking distance.

Rooms were clean.
Staff was friendly but I had to ask 2 different people to get a late checkout. I'm a platinum member.

Price was more reasonable than the beach locations.

As a Bonvoy member for over 20+ years this has been by far my least favorite property. Room although clean needed work. The a/c didn’t work due to a power outage in the area and had to be reset. So we slept with hot air blowing for 4 hours til a reset could be done. It was 84 degrees in the room. Bathroom amenities eg. Shampoo, Conditioner and shower gel all empty and dirty … Fire Alarm kept going off at 2am - 3am til FD could reset that error … I used points so not terribly upset, but had I paid $185 for that room I would have demanded a refund … Will contact Marriott directly though the Gold Elite Desk …

They “accidentally” billed me an extra $875…right out of my checking account. I had to battle with Marriott and BOA to get my money back. Marriott tried to claim they didn’t bill me, but I filed a fraud claim with BOA and ultimately got my money back. First, don’t pay these thieves with your debit card, use your credit card. Secondly, pick a hotel that’s honest and forthright…Marriott is not. What a miserable experience. Find another hotel. Forgot, the room stunk like they sprayed an entire can of Febreeze.

Nothing stands out about this hotel, it was a room to stay in. Low value for money. We had no issues. Front desk staff were friendly.

Totally enjoyed my stay. The staff is wonderful because they go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need.
It is also close to restaurants.
The beach is only few minutes from the hotel.

The staff are awesome sauces. I had one problem, and it was taken care of immediately. I love the shuttle service so i don'thavetodrive, I just wish they had more than one driver and shuttle.

Furnishings are not up to typical Marriott hotel standards. We will look for another hotel in the area if we visit this location in the future.

Staff is great, especially Georgina! Location is central to Federal Hwy 1 and Commercial Blvd so less than 2 miles to Lauderdale-by-the-sea and they offer a shuttle service taking you within 3 miles of the hotel. Nice bistro with a delicious food. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. No complaints!

This is a wonderful hotel! I am so suprised by any negative comment! The rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool area is great. The bistro has excellent fresh food. There is a free shuttle that will drop you off and pick you up with a few miles. It's less than 2 miles from the ocean, many great restaurants and anything you could want. It close by one of the best hospitsls in south Florida in case of any emergencies.the staff has been amazing. Georgina at the front desk is outstanding and absolutely so friendly and helpful with any request. I would recommend this hotel to anyone! If you want an overall nice hotel and aren't high maintenance stay here.and if you need the best of everything and just want something to complain about stay home.

It is my first time staying in this hotel and the attention from the girls is impressive Raven and Britney gave me their extra mile and they are extremely kind, they are very capable of receiving the public, the truth is just wow.incredible work from those girls, I will surely return soon with family this time, thank you for all

Breakfast is good. Would be nice to have coffee available and longer breakfast hours. Rooms need updating and better cleaning staff!

We stayed at this Marriott on 1/15/2023 prior to our cruise. Some aspects of this hotel are a 10+, but it has issues that could be easily corrected. Our experience on the positive notes was the Bistro, which had outstanding food and and service, for both dinner and breakfast. The room was disappointing.no shampoo and no cups, so bring your own. The gym had no towels, no disinfectant (especially w/ Covid), and no weights under 25 lbs, which would be great for women. And free coffee in the morning would have been a nice perk.

Smells wonderful. Staff is super friendly, hospitable, especially Melvin! Breakfast was great. Bed was comfortable, shower, fabulous. Pool clean and inviting. Overall clean and what you would expect. Very relaxing. No complaints. Thank you!

No safes in room. Starbucks is only open first thing in the morning and closes by 10am. Beds are a little soft. Ever upper level room has a balcony. No microwaves in room. Clean rooms and fairly updated bathrooms. Has a pool. Busy cross roads but great location for access.
