Went here to get clothes pressed for a funeral. Rushing, I didn't check clothes upon pickup and by the time I did they were closed. Had to leave family to go home and iron clothes I payed to get pressed. Will never use this facility again.

I took a little red jacket that I wore when I was 2-3 years old. Mold got on it and with the delicate threading on the coat, the staff at Crane's Cleaners on 23rd Ave, told me that there was a possibility that the threading would unravel while being cleaned. I picked up the jacket today and not one thread came loose. Crane's Cleaners will always get my business.

I have been using Cranes for years because of their quality service and care. They are a family business and understand the value of customer service. They are fair with their prices and offer same day dry cleaning. I highly recommend them.

On Thursday, 4/13/23, I dropped off two dresses, one white/one red, to be cleaned and pressed. I was informed they’d be ready Tuesday, 4/18/23. I’d only worn both dresses once! There was a minor mark on the white dress in the bust area and I showed it to the “daughter”, and made a simple statement that I felt it was something that should come out with the normal dry cleaning cleanser; she agreed. On 4/18/23, I arrived at 4: 10pm to pick them up; they weren’t ready. I was asked to give them 10 minutes to press the dresses out. I stated I’d come back in 30 minutes. I returned at 5: 17 pm and they still weren’t ready. After another 20 minutes, they were brought out. I looked them over and first noticed my my white dress was no longer white, but an off white; then I noticed the belt was dirty and had some type of greenish black oil stained to it; with the same on the belt of the red dress. I was asked to leave them in order to redo the process; I agreed. I informed the owner definitely needed them to be ready no later than 2: 30pm and she stated they’d be ready. Upon arrival on 4/19/23 at 2: 30pm, my dresses weren’t ready. On top of that, the belt was still dirty on the white dress and the same spot I’d originally pointed out on the white dress is still present! The “daughter” then had the audacity to want to charge full price for the cleaning! I paid a reduced fee and noted not to return to this dry cleaner!

Unfortunately I am having to leave a very bad review not only because my grandmother’s table cloth and runner were ruined, but because of how one of the employees treated me. I brought both heirloom pieces my grandmother had made in for dry cleaning last week. The manager was there when I brought them in and knew how special they were. She also saw their condition and we reviewed spots to be treated. I went to pick them up the day I was told and two other women searched for them, finally coming back with worried looks on their faces telling me they were still drying. I came back today and one of the same women met me at the door with the pieces folded in a bag. Not pressed. Not on a hanger. Just stuffed in plastic. As soon as I saw them I knew something VERY bad had happened. When I opened the bag and looked at them, I was so stunned that all I could say was “I am not happy. These are ruined. Something bad happened to them. ” The employee wouldn’t listen to me and kept saying she cleaned them like she cleaned everything else and argued with me that “it must be because they are so old”. She also began picking pieces of the fabric off the runner (it was decomposing) saying, “I forgot to pick this fuzz off. ” I could tell that something had eaten through the fabric. By this time the manager had come out and I explained that I’d had them dry cleaned previously someplace else and they never looked like this. There had never been a problem before with the dry cleaning of these pieces. And they were always kept neatly in climate controlled conditions. This was not a matter of too old fabric falling apart. I told them it looked like they had stayed too long in the chemicals and it had eaten through the fabric. I point blank asked them
If there had been a problem with one of their machines and she said yes, they had had a problem and someone had come out and fixed it and told them it WAS fixed. Well, she then explained they had to call AGAIN because a valve in the machine wasn’t opening and draining. My grandmothers things sat in the chemicals for too long and ate holes in the fabric. In fact, when I dropped the pieces off I noticed a repairman there bringing parts into the business.

The older women who seemed to be running things was extremely sorry and asked what she could do to make it better but I told here there really was nothing to be done at that point. She was very kind and didn’t make excuses or argue with me.

Aside from the obvious accident with the machine, it was very upsetting that an employee would try to convince me that nothing really happened to account for the ruined pieces. It made me feel like she was trying to cover for her own mistake by making me look like I didn’t know what I was talking about.

As you can see in the picture, the chemical used to dry clean literally ate holes in the fabric.
