Cypress Legends, Fort Myers FL

I have been a resident for a couple of months. I started Looking in July and Johnsi was top notch on helping out. He always responded to my calls emails or Melissa and Bridgett would help if I called with questions. Everyone's process is different and from July to October with my situation they all were helpful.

At move in no hiccups. The gym is very nice, quiet community. Everyone is respectful of each other. I see several owners with Pets and they all show respect with managing their pets on walks and in the community. If you own a pet it is a nice place for them.

Trash valet and unit prices are comparable to other areas. Also have garages.

Overall my experience has been wonderful.

Only great thing is close to shopping centers. My unit is old, outdated and over priced. Not luxury apartments at all. My water was brown when we moved in, rugs were hard and dirty, cracks in the foundation in unit, refrigerator has stopped working four times, ac randomly shuts on and we have to reset it ourself. Not happy with living here.

Bridget at the front desk truly cares about the residents here. She went above and beyond to help me out.
Always responded back immediately, or did what she can to help.

We love living here. Johnsi is our leasing agent and he is top notch. Maintenance requests are always performed timely. Peaceful neighborhood even though it is close to busy roads. Location is great. Close to lots of shops, restaurants, and easy access to so many things from Forum.

Poor management. Maintenance requests (no matter the urgency, unless of course you’re flooding the apartment) will be overlooked for at least two weeks. You have to call and remind them about the maintenance request.

Additionally, communication is terrible from this complex. They will charge you for move out damages and never inform you of the bill. They claim to send out a letter, yet nothing came. Instead of working with us, they send straight to a debt collector to wash their hands of guilt and collect the amount that was never justified in the first place.

Overall, the physical place is nice. Just do not live normally, as the “damages” (normal wear and tear) will cost you a pretty penny. Not to mention they did not even replace things that were about to break upon move in and disregard the move-in damages note.

I just moved into Cypress Legends about 2 weeks ago and everything has been great so far! Clean facility, really kind staff (Melissa at the office is so sweet and always responsive/ helpful!), and my apartment was nothing less than I was promised upon move in!

It’s a great place. Melissa Kelly made it so easy for me to settle in my new place. It’s real le beautiful and peaceful here.

I just moved in to Cypress Legends this month after moving from up north. Very clean and quiet place. Staff was quick to take care of any small issues I had and is friendly. Place has a gym, pool, and lock boxes for packages. Between that and the gated entrance I feel safe about where I have moved to. Only downfall was my truck was just to wide to fit into my garage, but there is ample parking so that is not an issue.

5-stars for the staff and 3-stars for the communication at times, especially when moving out. Lived there for 2-years and had typical maintenance issues which is expected for something built in 2004.
Pretty good apartment and solid buildings so sound was never an issue.

Johnsi was fantastic with my mother in law and getting her set up with the perfect apartment.

I just moved in here last month and love it here. Mellissa and Bridget in the office are wonderful and were so helpful with my move-in any any issues afterwards. The grounds are maintained beautifully, very nice pool and gym, nice neighbors, and even a DOG PARK! I highly recommend it!

Amazing customer service, staff is very attentive to our needs made the applying process very easy. Great communication with all that I needed to submit for my application. And the welcoming was beyond anything I could imagine. Happy to be calling this my new community.

We chose Cypress Legends after looking at the many apartments in the Forum area. It came highly recommended. Even though it is a bit older than many of the new ones in the area, it is solidly constructed and has been well maintained. We did have a few hiccups with our move-in date, every person in the office worked with us so so were able to coordinate our move in with the closing of our house.
Once in, any minor repairs or concerns were handled immediately by Danny and the maintenance crew to our satisfaction.
We have not lived in an apartment for over 30 years and after being here nearly a month we feel very comfortable and at home!

I recently moved to Cypress Legends this month and I couldn’t be more happier with my decision. During the whole process from start to finish, all front office staff were very helpful and kind. I have a good feeling that I’m going to like living here.

My husband and I sold our home for downsizing purposes. We rented a large 2 bedroom first floor apartment home at Cypress Legends. Our four years there from 2016 to 2020 were very good. Noise levels were low. The location is so convenient to shopping and other amenities. Cypress Legends is on a beautiful property and maintained nicely. Our 2 dogs were happy there as well. The office staff and maintenance crew were very helpful and responded to requests quickly. We definitely recommend Cypress Legends for a nice rental experience.

Current tenant at Cypress Legends. Will post a full review after moving out. But if you want something done and done right, this is not the place to live.

The management is more concerned with flipping new units to make money rather than fixing issues with the property. File maintenance requests and you should have about 3 months of wait time minimum. The explanation for the wait is because “our maintenance is working on getting units ready for new move ins”.

Update: after waiting since moving in three months ago (to a new apt from one in the same community) to get some of these repairs fixed (including a non-functioning dishwasher) and being told many times they were turning over new apartments first, they were addressed today. Maintenance has always been top notch here for the past two years and they seem to be getting back to their old selves. Otherwise this apartment complex is great overall - perfect location, awesome ammentities, well kept and friendly staff. No complaints now. All the staff know you here on a first name basis including which unit you live in, are here to help and always willing to ask questions. Overall great place to live.

We love Cypress Legends. The people are so welcoming and the community itself is beautiful and well kept. We are thankful for Ashley. Me and my boyfriend we first timers when looking for apartments and she really made us feel important, comfortable and apart of the process. Ashely also made everything incredibly easy, from looking to signing the lease. All amenities have been fixed within 24 hours and the crew is quick, effective and efficient. Overall, wonderful apartments and experience. I would recommend anyone to love here, I know that we do not plan on moving any time soon! Again, Ashely is the lady to ask for! AMAZING

Cypress Legends has only been home for a month, but my experience from the time we acquired to the time of move in was perfect! Melissa in the front office was extremely helpful. We got brand new carpet and wood in our apartment. When we did move in and the washer was not working, but the maintenance team was able to replace it within a few hours of moving in. If you are looking for a place in fort myers, I would recommend!

When me and my fiance first moved in at Cypress Legends.we were very excited and loved our apartment. 1 day after we moved in we noticed paint on the rugs, the wood underneath the sink fell off (by itself), one of the outlets did not work and there was a leak when it rained in our master bedroom window TWICE. If you want to live in a gated community (don't live at Cypress Legends at The Forum) the whole year me and my fiance lived there, we only used our key cards to open the gate literally about 5 times because the gate was always broken and open. Also we had a few roaches in the kitchen behind the stove and we noticed 1 week after living there, because I was going to clean behind the stove and found at least 3. We did call for pest control and they did leave a note saying that they sprayed, but the roaches were still there. The office staff is nice but they don't ask questions before charging you a fee. We were getting charged $100 dollar fee because one of the maintenance guys complained that they seen one of our cars go in the community through the exit way. When we got a letter for the fee my fiance did call because it was not one of us that entered the community through the exit gate. Not sure who he spoke to but he asked whoever it was he spoke to if they can describe our cars or at least give him a license plate to prove it was one of us. The staff member admitted that they had no proof it was one of our cars. Then had the audacity to tell him "Well, if it wasn't you then why are you making a big deal about it"? Well maybe because they were charging us $100 dollars for something we did not do! They did take the fee off because my fiance fought hard and demanded that he was not paying $100 dollars for something we did not do. We will not return to Cypress Legends apartments as long as we live in Fort Myers.
