Was charged over $2000 for something I can now do within Terminal.app in under 2 minutes. The hard drive my data was placed on is also extremely faulty.
Jim is a liar and a thief.
Get a second opinion before trusting them with your data.

Jim and the guys over are Data Lab are great! Very knowledgeable in their field and have a great success rate in recovered Data!

Datalab recovered all my files. I had brought my drive to my regular guy and he was unable to retrieve anything he sent me to these guys. Took about a week. At first I was given a price from $700-1500. Ended up charging $1800.
A little pricey but was glad to pay to get my files back. 15yrs of business file recovered

Owner doesn't pay his sales staff hourly but wants them to work as full time employees. Way overpriced and slow service. Better to back up your data instead of paying $1200 for nothing. If they know it's worth much to you they'll triple the price. If no parts are needed the software does the work. Huge rip off.

Please if you are reading this, take my word for it and SHOP AROUND! They are waaaay over priced and after they tell you one price they will knock off a few bucks still to be over priced. Don't get me wrong they will recover what they can from your drive, but it's most likely not gonna be worth what you pay. Also that customer service needs to be worked on more then my drive from Mr. Jim Gordon. AGAIN SHOP AROUND FIRST! Don't be surprised when he takes your drive and then tell you an outrageous price to recover your data. You've been warned!

I've been meaning to write this review for months, but life and business and (non-computer) viruses have provided too many distractions. I recently had one of those "I know I shouldn't do this" moments when I carried a notebook computer from the patio into the house.with a portable external hard drive attached via USB cable and riding precariously on the keyboard as I walked in.all the while thinking I was holding everything securely. Nope. The hard drive slipped off the keyboard, disconnected from the cable, and fell to a tile floor with one of those sounds that let you know your day was just ruined. From that point on, the drive was unreadable. It had about 1TB of critical business data, so I was dead in the water. After doing some online research, I chose Datalab because of their good reputation, high-end business clients, and nearby location. Datalab subsequently recovered 100% of my data and had a replacement drive to me in one week. While the price was sticker-shock high, the 100% recovery put me back in business with only a "mild" heart attack ;) and no need to explain any data losses to my clients. I highly recommend Datalab when you truly need your data recovered without any limitations. They have the technology and expertise few others can touch.

Timely, provide a realistic price and time frame upfront and provided me a shipping label to make it easier
