Davis Express Main Terminal reviews
4 Just got released today with no explanation, this company pays zip code to zip code and cut miles away from the drivers they claim to care about. Micro manage is an understatement. I had dispatchers try and tell me how to run my clock and they had no driving experience. Home time was consistent but their older equipment is falling apart inside the truck atleast the Volvo I had. The worst part is how they handled the releasing of me. Got me a load heading to their main terminal, and they didn't have the decency to atleast tell me what was going to happen so I could get my stuff off the truck. No respect for driver's. So if you do decide to come and work here good luck you'll need it.
P. S.remember to check your actual miles the route you to versus what they ACTUALLY pay.
No experience, my husband has his CLD's and was looking about him working here. Know the owners
Great position for a company driver. Most companies over promise and under deliver, but at Davis, they do exactly as promised. Each of the people working in safety, dispatch and the shop are experienced professionals with many having as much as twenty plus years in the trucking business. As far as the working environment, it is the least stressful, easiest job that I have ever had in the 11 years I have worked as a driver. The equipment is well maintained and you can expect 80% drop and hook. I highly recommend Davis Transfer to any driver that is tired of being a road warrior and wants consistent home time with a good income.
If you plan to be a hard worker, don't. If you want to be polite and give them 2 weeks' notice, don't. They will micro manage your time off, requiring you to call 10 hrs before your break is done. Then, call again when you arrive at the yard. There are some nice people there, including some drivers but nice only goes so far.
