Oh sanctuary sweet dreams my love. A beautiful person I've been in thinking, yet love offers treasure everlasting.

This place is terrible and no one knows what is going on. The staff tells you something and then the next day it’s different. No one cares about the actually student and with the attitudes you get they could care less if you went there or not.

Their focus is definitely not the students. It is cheaper but there is a reason for that. Not the best place to get an education. They don’t care about the student’s disabilities and certainly don’t provide the support student’s need. They don’t answer emails or the phone most of the time. Some teachers are decent.

I am a student here and so far it has been a great experience. The professors have been helpful. Currently in Covid health guidelines. Thw tuition is cheaper than average

Never try calling! They put you on hold then hang up without letting you even leave a message! Also, the staff on the phone just say stuff without double checking so i got the wrong dates for important deadlines.

Denise in admissions is an angel. She is more helpful in 5 minutes than anyone at Valencia has ever been.

Don’t get me wrong the professors do a great job, you don’t pay much for tuition, and they have plenty of programs. You definitely get what you paid for. If you need help with anything you’re just told to go online and try and navigate through their garbage website. Financial aid is never on time or reliable, the advisors tell you something different with every visit, again the website is garbage. They need more work in administration or they’ll keep having students transfer to better colleges.

If I could give no stars I would. I absolutely hate Daytona State College. Every time I talk to anyone there. The advisors, financial aid department, student services, ANYONE that works at Daytona State. They tell me something different every time. And as soon as I can get done with this semester. I will never be going back there

Zero stars. Nursing Department Head treated me Iike trash in one of my most vulnerable states of my life after my TEAS exam. I now feel like I failed by 3 points on the math for a reason. I don’t want to force someone to do their job or help assist me with furthering my education. I never leave reviews but this really struck my nerves. Also, be prepared to hear 20 different things when you have to call with questions. All misleading.

RUN! This school has the most incompetent administration I have experienced in a long while. Between financial aid, counselors, and the overwhelming 'don't care' attitude? RUN!

I am really upset with academic advising. I called them for 5 days straight and also emailed them. No one ever answered, no one returned my emails. I needed a class that I was unable to add myself online. I live 8 hours away. Finally on the 7th day of calling I was able to reach someone and the class was full now that I got through. Then they give me a number to another person to add it manually and the number is not even to anyone at the college. I needed one class to graduate and I couldn't even get through to the advising office. I called every advisor number listed on the website. This is ridiculous that no one could answer me and now I am out of the class I needed. Very poor communication with this school.

If I could give 0 stars I gladly would, if you are looking for a quality education your best bet is to avoid Daytona State College altogether. I entered with almost a 4.0 GPA and now its just above as 2.0 because while going for my AA they have continuously dropped me from all my classes every other semester for "Non-payment" even though I have already paid. After taking my receipts in to show I payed in full then they make me jump through hoops to get back into classes that I never should have been dropped from in the first place. Last instance I was enrolled in 7-week classes and they took two weeks to get me back in, there was no way I could catch up in my classes so again my GPA takes a massive hit. There staff does not care and will not want to help you, they will act like helping you is an inconvenience. Avoid this school at all costs.

I was a student at Daytona State College. I was in the Cosmetology program. I wanted to write this review because I don't want anyone wasting their money or having their future messed with.
My first complaint is that the instructors don't teach you or prepare you for clients. (The instructors are Kathy Miltenberger and Susan Scali) They show you a 15 min demo on a hair cut or sometimes even a youtube video. They only show you once and if you need extra help don't expect to get it. Sometimes you learn while you're working on a client and as a student that causes so much stress and anxiety. I asked for help on a hair cut I was preforming on a client and Susan Scali started arguing with the other assistant teacher about who was teaching me better. (This all happened in front of the client) Also on client days don't expect to get a lunch. The instructors don't know how to communicate with each other. They argue in front of students and clients. They will all teach you different ways then tell you the other instructor taught you wrong. Which is very confusing for a student. The instructors talk down to you and roll their eyes at you. They don't take any responsibility for anything they do wrong. I've seen students that have so much passion and talent for Cosmetology but were neglected of education because of the instructors. It's just sad.
I was a straight A student while in this program and I still don't feel prepared and I feel ripped off.
To sum this up the instructors are not professional, organized or knowledgeable.

Terrible, Do you enjoy paying for classes with teachers that don't teach, that just assign book work? Do you enjoy professors who would be better off teaching high school? I honestly don't know what I'm paying for here and can't wait to leave and never give them another dime again. WASTE OF MONEY. I haven't had one good teacher. I haven't had one good class. They all suck. The teachers need to teach. The website is terrible. I can't think of something more wasteful than paying for classes with no teachers. The teachers need to learn how to teach, not just be good at a subject, which they aren't. Terrible school please don't go here. It's an excuse for people who want to say they are in school. I've learned pretty much everything I needed to learn for these classes on YouTube for free with better professors who actually answer my questions. For FREE. Don't give me that be happy you're in school bs this is not school. Someone who can't afford school could get a better education for free than paying to go here.

The customer service is atrocious, I called to get some info on signing up for the next semester at 2: 30 11/20/17 and I asked a few questions and the response was "I don't know what to tell you". This cannot be serious, I'm still in disbelief. Once you're in the school its decent. I can't speak for the people in the classrooms but the hands on lab work is the way to go.

I have been having so many issues with the Administration, Admission, and Financial Aid Department the past couple of semesters. I recently got diagnosed with a severe medical issue and has to drop out of my classes last semester so I could fly home for testing. Before I left, I went in to ask what I needed to do to drop out of my classes so I didn't get bad marks & so I didn't have to pay the tuition. I was told that all I needed was to turn in a paper stating what happened & fill out a form with what classes I would be dropping. After turning those in, they said that they will be going on my account and dropping my classes for me. Come to find out, while I was attempting to register for the same classes for the upcoming semester, that they never actually dropped my classes & it said I owed them over 1k for tuition. I went back to speak with someone & she said I needed to turn in more proof, so the next day I brought in a packet full of proof. I was told to check my email for whether it was approved or not. After not hearing back for 4 days I began calling whoever I could, every day, getting voicemail's every time I called & never getting a call back. I would go in to the q & A office and ask what is going on every single day & the woman that handles it was never around. The day before Thanksgiving break, I went in there AGAIN to get some help, and was told she won't be back until after break! I had been trying for weeks to get a hold of someone so I would be able to register before the break. That same day I decided to go speak to the Dean. I told him the whole story, and it turns out he just started working at the school 5 days prior! He was very nice & told me he would do what he could and get back to me by Monday at the latest. As I was leaving I was called back up to him & this lady was standing with him & she had all my medical info in her hands with a sticky note attached saying "approved" on it. Said she found it in the woman's office. Wonder how long it has been sitting there as she was never in office, it's like she doesn't even work? The lady was very nice though, and said she would see if she could go ahead and sign for it since that isn't her job but wanted to help me out. Finally I could register. I was afraid some of the classes I needed wouldn't be available anymore when I could finally register, and of course, one of them was full by that time. You have to jump through hoops if you want anything to get done & harass them until what you need done is complete.

Now, I could finally figure out my FAFSA. Already had it filled out as I was going to use it last semester. I went online and updated it & I am now just waiting for it to be sent to the school. I had a financial aid hold on my account, which is where you don't have to pay tuition until you get your financial aid figured out. I called the Daytona financial aid office yesterday to make sure my classes wouldn't be dropped since I have the hold. She told me I already filled out my FAFSA and I didn't get any help. I told her made corrections and she tried to tell me I wasn't allowed to make corrections. I told her I was allowed & I am waiting to find out what is going on with it. She was very rude to me and had an attitude the entire time. She then said that if I didn't pay for my classes that same day that she was going to drop my classes. I told her that she wasn't allowed to do that because I have a hold on my account and because tuition isn't even due until the 1st. She then said shes taking the hold of my account. She spoke to my like I was an idiot and like she was better than me. I wish I never even called them. I will never EVER deal with a financial aid counselor in Daytona EVER again. There is a very nice and helpful woman who works at the Flagler campus & I now have to go see her to get this straightened back out. This is all so ridiculous, I can't believe how they treat students here.

Top quality local education. Just buy stuff elsewhere, borrow what you need to get through your education, and contact advising if you ever have questions.

They NEVER answer the phone. It has taken me over 2 months to get enrolled into this school. Different financial advisors tell me to do certain forms, and other ones say those forms are waived. They can't even pull up my information by my student I. D.number. The financial aid department is very unhelpful and unorganized. When you do reach someone on a call, nothing is accomplished. They will tell you that you have no holds on your student account, and then leave the holds on your actual account. What the hell is going on with this school.

My enrollment took 4 months to complete when it should have only taken a week or two. I was told I was reviewing a full grant that would cover tuition, books, plus more throughout the 4 months I was enrolling. My transcripts I had transferred got lost and it took DSC a week to figure out where they went and took another week for them to go into the system. Because they lost my transcripts, I was unable to enroll in classes and had to wait another two months for the next semester. Two days before my classes were supposed to begin, they told me I wasn’t receiving any financial aid at all with no sympathy for the lies they have been feeding me and told me to apply for a loan instead, but I can’t afford any more loans and they shrugged their shoulders with no response. No one ever responds to my emails and I can never get through to someone when I call. They have too many campuses and students that they can not stay organized or help a student properly. I wish I found out much sooner that they were feeding me lies about my financial aid status so I could have been doing something more useful with my time and education.
