Deltona Health Care / Bedrock Rehabilitation & Nursing Center at West Volusia

If I could give zero stars I would. My grandmother has had multiple items “lost” including pillows, phone chargers and other personal items. Her medication is not given on time or even close…. It’s currently after 1pm and she not received her medication and no one will even answer the phone. Please do not make the mistake of putting your loved one here. This is an ongoing issue with lack of care and professionalism.

As with the other reviews on here I will have to agree this place is awful. The nursing staff are nice considering what they have to deal with on a daily basis. The PT crew are super kind and we’re very helpful to my dad in managing that part of his care. My complaint after having my father there for 10 days is that if he refused his meals they just took it away. They needed to just leave it for later. Or make sure he was awake enough to eat it. And if it wasn’t for me being there during the day he would not have gotten his food trays because they had his name wrong and didn’t bother to check the rooms to see who was missed in getting a tray. If he asked for more laxatives they just gave it to him. Now he has raging diarrhea. No phone calls to me from the staff at all! I had to call the staff every night to go check on dad because no one came when he pushed the call button. When he first got there there was a fire in one end of the building so they had to double up patients sticking my dad with someone else in a private room so that meant one call button for 2 people. The floors are filthy and never once did I see them mopping anywhere. This place needs some serious up grading and more staff.

If you love the person who needs care, this is not the facility for you. It's nearly impossible to speak to the administrative staff, with hold times for 30+ minutes or promised callbacks that never happen. The care staff is either short staffed or doesn't care at all. It takes hours for call lights to be answered. This place is filthy starting at the front door. When gathering the belongings of our loved one, we found her car keys in a bag with a dirty diaper. She had checked in 5-6 weeks prior, meaning this diaper was in her nightstand dirty for that long. Avoid at all costs!

Horrible place to work the building is old and infested with roaches, ants and spider. Some of the beds doesn't work, no hot water, no laundry and disgusting floors inside the patient rooms. CNA, are expected to provide excellent patient care without linens. The staff is unfriendly, unhelpful, unprofessional and rude the little staff that they do have because 85% of the workers are agency employees. The second shift supervisor Samantha, is a bully nurse and its plenty of them in the Healthcare field. What kind of Supervisor tells any adult to do something NOW, only a Supervisor who doesn't respect the workers or a supervisor who haven't had an management training. Constantly calling on the PA system for busy CNA's to stop what they are doing to do what she say to do NOW and the Now, is something simple she could do herself.

Deltona Health Care is large recovery center with at least 225 rooms. They are without power. I called Duke energy to find out the status. No one had reported the outage. This is unbelievable. No time to restore service is on the web. HELP patient can't even adjust the beds

No one came to us after we arrived told l couldn't get my meds until the next day no urnils for men no handrails for the bed at night saw bugs very nasty had to go and discharge ourselves with tension

Many years ago my grandfather went to this place and it was wonderful. I just visited there yesterday and was shocked to see how much much this place has degraded. It is absolutely filthy and run down inside. The outside garden is full of weeds. The bathrooms have old crusty faucets. The building has wallpaper and lighting from the 1980's and you feel like you're time traveling. The place needs to be demolished and a new facility needs to be built. This is sickening and these poor elderly people deserve better than this! The workers don't seem happy either. Some of them were sitting there on their phones. Miserable patients and miserable employees. This place needs to be demolished. Enough taking the elderly people's money. Do the right thing and build them a better facility so they can live their final days in more peace and so the workers are in a better mood!

My grandfather was transported there last night. We visited him today and noticed what poor condition the facility is in. It is absolutely DISGUSTING and I would NOT ever recommend putting a loved one in there. It needs an inspection done and a lot of changes before I would ever even think to mention the name to anyone. Absolutely DISGUSTING!
We have removed my grandfather from there and will care for him at home vs letting him be there another day in that filth!

This place needs to be reported to somebody. I am in here and it is afternoon and I still haven't gotten any medication yet. It seems to me they don't really care about you at all. There is a guy across the hall yelling and nobody will answer him. There is another lady asking for help and they are just ignoring her. This place needs to be reviewed again.

My mother passed away 3/27/2022 and boom. Her purse is stolen and her cell phone.great place to lose things!

I am 48 years old. I came to Deltona Health and Rehab on Feb. 14 2021. When I arrived I was unable to sit up or walk 2 surgeon said I would NEVER walk again. So they sent me here for rehab and IV antibiotics. When I tell you the gym an my 3 therapist were the very best anyone could ask for I truly feel in my heart hade it been different therapist I probably would have never walked. Kay, Sam and Heather as I leave after being here walking you guys will forever be a few of MY HEROS. NOW they're was a few CNA that took care of me that told me everyday you have to do this you will walk again. I just laid there an cried. Broderick, Elowise, Elba, Maronda, Anithria, Milly Cici, Careen, Tracy. With ever step I most certainly will think of you. Lanier prayed everyday with me an even when I told him I didn't believe he thought me how to believe again And lastly every single day there were 2 nurse that would not accept no for an answer Virginia an Sam. I will forever love you two like a sister if you didn't push me No telling what would have became of me. Brittany that works in social services knows I am afraid leaving she said it going to be ok. When I thought I was going to get kicked out to the streets Katia whom works in the business office came to my room with the Paula whom is the administrator. Just to assure me never would that happen. How many times do you see an administrator work the floor an the DON Jessica. They do here. Trying to get in touch with anyone other than the receptionist at this facility is so difficult. You ask to get transferred to a nurses station and you're on hold for who knows how long because nobody can bother to pick up the phone. I understand how busy the nurses can be but it's unacceptable that not one single person can pick up the phone to see what the person on the other end of the line needs.

My experience with the care of my mother in this place was very good, they treat the patient well, their meals are very good and their medical care too. On the other hand, at Lake Mary Rehabilitation Center the experience was horrible! My mother was admitted to Lake Mary after knee replacement surgery in excellent condition, but five days after she was discharged from Lake Mary Rehabilitation, 911 took her away because there they infected my 90-year-old mother with Covid.so she now struggles with a heart condition and has been on the brink of death.
In this place, my mother observed the old woman in the next bed fall out of bed, but they both called the nurses and 20 minutes passed when the nurse came, her meals are very bad, another of the nurses did not give the medicines to my mother and insisted to her that I had already given them to her. There was a time when her service was good but now it is deplorable, that was my experience. I will never leave my mother in that place again, thank God after being hospitalized for the second time as a result of her COVID infection at Lake Mary Rehabilitation, she went to Deltona Health Care to recover and thank God the experience was excellent.

This place is a black hole. Patients go in and get thrown out as soon as the insurance stop paying, which was 2 weeks in our case. My mom was quarantined for the entire time. We couldn't see her or the inside of the facility at all. She was discharged and back in the hospital 4 days later. She passed away just a few weeks later and I truly believe the treatment or lack of being treated as a human being greatly contributed. They didn't send her home with all her belongings. Didn't communicate with me and she was miserable there. Don't do it! Because of covid the facility has been inspected in over 2 years. Absolutely no one is monitoring these places.

The worst place ever. I had many, many care issues the whole year and a half I had to deal with them. An awful place

This place is very dirty and coming from the staff, the patients are treated very BAD. Money was also stolen from a man that passed away last year. Do not bring your loved one into DHC.

If I could rate no stars I would fast due to this place is refusing to let my father talk to anyone or give any information on him like how he is doing or anything plus he doesn’t have a phone in his room n they refuse to put a phone in his room so he can call meanwhile he was transferred there on 9-11-20 n today is 9-12-20 I have contacted my lawyer n I will be calling the health department Monday morning about this situation I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone meanwhile he is still there we are trying to find him a different place that takes his insurance. Horrible place never again.

Over the weekend, I made the decision to discharge my father from this facility for unacceptable care. After 3 months of non stop grievances and complaints with minimal, if any resolutions, the choice was clear to move my father for his safety and well being. Think TWICE about placing a loved one in this facility, especially for Long Term Care. I was very disappointed. You should have a genuine love for the elderly to work at such a facility. Unfortunately, I did not see that.

Caring and friendly staff. We have been to other facilities in the past, but hands down we will be back to Deltona if and when my mom ever needs rehab again! I would strongly recommend this place to others! Hope this helps
