Wow - what a quagmire. Seemed like a godsend because I lost a crown and had another tooth break within a week and I have no insurance. So I go to a dentist in the plan that does one-day crowns, but she says I really need the 2-step crown and now I'm waiting 4+ weeks for the step #2 permanent crown to come in. In the meantime, I ask if we can go ahead and get started on the 2d crown since it's hard to eat with holes on both side of my mouth. Ends up, she refers me to an oral surgeon for an extraction. This is where it gets BAD.there are 2 local oral surgeons listed in DentalPlans. One has great reviews, one not so good. So I call the "great" one, only neither of the numbers listed are good. When I call DentalPlans to confirm whether that oral surgeon is still in the plan, the rep says he looked it up on Google and the clinic is still there. Obviously that's of no help, so I call the number listed online for the dentist and she hasn't been with the clinic still listed on DentalPlans for years, AND she's not even an oral surgeon! Now I'm left wondering whether I can trust anything in the plan, and when I go crying to my husband because it shouldn't be this hard, he said to find the best oral surgeon and he'll pay whatever it costs.
So here's the lowdown, folks.
#1 -There's no way to know if you're getting a break in costs under the plan because you have nothing to compare it to. The numbers that DentalPlans lists are arbitrary and other dentists aren't going to tell you what they charge.
#2 - The costs listed are not comprehensive - the cost for a crown doesn't include x-rays, various prep work, sedation, and whatever other unknown cost there are.
#3 - What truly reputable practice is going to offer cut-rate costs?
#4 - Even if they do, what are the odds you're going to get the same service and quality of care as a full-paying patient?
So I highly recommend following my husband's words of wisdom. We probably won't be out any more cost and we'll know for d**n we got the best care.

I have no idea how I got enrolled in this plan. I have not been to a dentist in over 2 years. Now they took money out of my account for renewing a plan that I didn't know I had in the first place. I had knee surgery in January and have just been released for work. I do not need your company taking what little money I have out of my account without my authorization.

These guys refuse to cancel my membership and continue to charge my account, while telling me the exact opposite. I've canceled twice and each time they never send a confirmation email. Basically they will steal from you once you buy in. I'm going to have to deal with my bank just to prevent future charges. Use these guys if you want to throw your money away. The service never helped cover any dental bills anyway.

Dentists show up on their database as covered by this insurance, but in fact it's not true. I ended up showing up at my usual dentist's office because the dentist showed up on the site as covered, and then they rang the plan and found out I was not covered. Embarrassing as I was already in the dentist's chair-and a big waste of my time (not to mention the dentist's time).
Not a smooth or particularly friendly process, trying to cancel the plan online.

One word of advice: stay away from them. They have been charging my card for two years. Support is horrible. I could not find an option to cancel the recent charge

Be very careful when you sign up with these people. Once you stop using them they bombard you daily with emails even though you "unsubscribe" and write to them to stop sending their promotional emails.
