I truely wish you could rate negative stars because this place is the utter WORST, i will never go back and encourage everyone to take the extra 10 minutes to sacred heart. I only went there because urgent care wouldn't accept chest pain patients, when we arrived there was no wait understandably and we went in a room. As soon as i walked in the room they were already talking about IVs and urine samples as if they were bored and just wanted something to do. I am terribly afraid of needles and to say these people are the rudest most demeaning people i have ever met is an understatement. Before i was given an IV the first nurse asked for a urine sample and said " it will prolong the time before i stick ya" well knowing that i was nervous and upset. The first nurse kept telling me to get over it because i was 16 when she put the IV in then continued to tell me it was my fault no blood was coming out as well as arguing with me that it didn't hurt as if she was the one getting blood drawn then when i continued to cry she finally realized that maybe i was in pain and seemingly shrugged it off and went to get another nurse to deal with me. When the next nurse came in i was already crying from the first time and she got mad because i was crying when she was "only looking", threw her hands up and said she'd do it later and when my mother called for her to stay she said "no, its fine i'll be back later". I came in for persistent heart burn and back pain at night and left 2 and a half hours later with a recommendation to try antiacids. The last nurse came in to remove my unnecessary IV and when we asked why i was given an IV she responded with "it makes some people feel better sometimes" and as she pulled it out continued to make fun of me because i said it hurt and was rightfully upset and when she pulled it out hurt as much as putting it in. Dr. Williams was nice and pleasant and i have nothing bad to say about him.throughout the whole experience there were many rude looks and probably the most attitude i have ever seen in a business.i highly suggest never visiting this so called "er" of which doesnt have an ultrasound and is not able to simply tell you your blood type.

We arrived in Destin for our first day of vacation. My 15 year old daughter needed to see a doctor. I called a few urgent care centers near our condo to inquire about being seen and to make sure they accept an out of state insurance. Found Emerald Coast Urgent Care and was told by the person who answered that they do accept our insurance. I went a step further and called our insurance company to make sure they were in-network, which they are. We took at $25 Uber ride there and arrived to a receptionist with a nasty attitude. As soon as I handed her my daughter’s insurance card, she said ‘we don’t take this insurance, you can pay $200 self pay for the visit and anything they do will cost extra. ’ I told her that I had called prior and was told they do accept it. She simply said no and turned away, back to her Tik-Tok videos. I went outside in the 100 degree heat to call the insurance company back and was told they should accept it and they would call them to see what was going on. Not surprisingly, she was rude to the representative from the insurance company also and told her that even though they were in-network it was an office rule that the don’t take the insurance. What? Eventually we got an Uber to Destin ER and were in the back within 2 minutes of arriving. The nurse was an angel and was so sweet and caring. She took care of my daughter and me even though she had been working 16 hours at that point, and did it all with a smile on her face. The male doctor was a sweetheart as well and was very thorough with us. We were in and out within an hour (including tests that were done) with our prescription, some medical advice as well as advice about things to do during our vacation. I even received 20% off the copay by paying there. The registration process was done remotely on an iPad and was so easy! I would 100% recommend this ER and I’m so thankful for them during this stressful time. By the way, insurance was Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, not some crazy random insurance. Thanks Destin ER, for helping us get our vacation started and being so compassionate ️

I went today with a bad cough, headache and a pain in my chest, I couldn’t get into my primary or urgent care so decided to go to Destin Er. But only because I knew it would be 100% covered by my insurance, it is ER, they will charge you for ER services which are extreme.
There was no wait at all, Clean facility, the nurse Tracey was quick and professional and dr Williams was very nice and helpful. I was in and out within 40 minutes, work excuse, prescription. Thank you! Highly recommended!

My wife waited until after work not to go to ER. Now I wish she was not so dedicated to her students because it cost us big time.

We went in with no wait. The staff was pleasant and we signed off the paperwork.

When the Doctor came in he used a needle to relieve the pressure of her infected toe. He then gave us a prescription to fill.

The following morning my wife infection spread up her foot. She went to another ER. The other hospital gave her x-ray, blood test, and gave her a strong antibiotic. The new ER hospital said the prescribed antibiotic that my wife received was not strong enough. The antibiotic was just for normal infection.

The bills came in. Destin ER Doctor bill was $487. That is OK reasonable paid my part from Insurance. Then came the hospital bill of $2k for 5 minutes and not addressing problem. Our insurance company only paid small portion of bill.

The other hospital bill came in on the same day. It had nothing to do with deductible but our final bill was 321.80. They not only itemized what they did but reduced our price on there own. Insurance paid more also because we got more bang for the buck and they treated my wife accordingly I guess.

I called Destin ER Risk Management and Patient Advocate to please explain why Destin ER is so high and that they did not even help my wife's problem. The only people that answered my phone companies were the billing companies. The billing companies work for the collection Destin ER bills. The billing company did not give out any number that I could call at the hospital for an explanation. I am waiting for a response. Billing company said that at most after review is they maybe able to give a 20 % discount. So I have to pay $1,685.60. Insurance paid $316.

I really feel sorry for the folks that have a major expense and a major emergency. If my insurance company thinks that the charges were not worth paying for I imagine the same goes for the next patient. Please drive the extra 5 minutes you can over to Walton county and get better treatment and a bill you live without feeling violated. Why not send an itemized bill like the other hospital? Just make up charges? Why when I called Friday, Monday and Tuesday that I was only able to leave voice message to get called back. No one called me back and said at least I will look into it.

I am sure glad that this Companies main Hospital was not able to prevent the other hospital from being built in Santa Rosa Beach. I can see now that the main reason was to make the mighty dollar and monopolize. How many lives were saved from going to the hospital in Walton County and not being transported to Hospital in Fort Walton Beach. I guess this ER is to make up the mighty Dollar they missed out on in Walton County.

I can sure see why the wait is never over 5 minutes for a positive review.

Just please be aware that when you sign paperwork that it works out to be about $100 per minute for the visit.the separate Doctor price is $250 a minute.

This is my first post online. I do not post on Facebook anything. As I get ignored from them with my questions I will sure pass this along to fellow citizens that I have known since being here in 1992.

AVOID THIS FRONT! They have low-quality "medical professionals" working here. The nurse did not know simple anatomy and unprofessionally laughed at our questions regarding the paperwork they were forcing us to sign. Michael Williams, "MD" just throws random diagnoses at you without asking questions or listening to the person in pain. He is NOT knowledgeable & their tests results are questionable. They do not help their patients and are a HUGE WASTE OF TIME. They have zero motivation or ability to make you healthy again. THIS IS THE WORST MEDICAL CENTER.

Extremely overpriced. I had a little bit of ear pain. They sent me to ENT and not treatment at all, just have some muxinex. Bill was $850

Was there for 30 minutes and ran a simple test I could have purchased at the pharmacy for 10$ and they charged me over $5800. Go somewhere else too expensive.

Super fast in and out. My son had strep throat while we where on vacation. The doctor however was mean. He called me names for not wanting to give my 4 year old a shot while we where on vacation. Lol. Dr. Burleson called me a name. Infrot of my son. Called me a whimp. Iv never been disrespected that way before. Just a doctor who doesn't like to be told no I guess.

My husband went for cellulitis. It was a mild case that required antibiotics and topical steroids. Unfortunately, his PCP Dr. Robin Zarate was not open. He gets exellent care from her and decided to go over to this Destin ER/clinic. They were rude and insisted he take an ambulance ride to Ft Walton Hospital. He said, no thank you, not for a rash. Totally a waste of time and money! Never Again!

The service was decent, but i am having to pay over 2400 for a straight forward ear infection. I expected more than urgent care, but that seems extreme. Go somewhere else unless you want to throw away money.

Wonderful service, great nurses, doctors and techs! They say everything is better in Texas, but I’ll have to disagree and say this Florida ER was fantastic!

I wish there was an option for negative stars. Unfortunately, there isn't.everyone who has left a 1 star review on this facility is CORRECT! DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE! Drive the extra 7 minutes to Sacred Heart. I wouldn't call this an "EMERGENCY ROOM" I'd say it's more like a glorified urgent care. Such a joke. I just wish I had read the reviews prior to walking into so called ER

I don't understand the negative reviews because I went here yesterday for potential broken ribs. They treated me with respect, kindness & professionalism. I would highly recommend going here if you have an emergency. Remember, this is an ER, not a Urgent Care.

Again, NO.

The second time we went, I was having pregnancy problems, and all the doctor did was a ultra sound, rudely yell at me saying it was a miscarriage and I was stupid for going to the ER.

I was 4 months. At that stage, supposed to get D&C done, and she just threw a towel at my face and told me to leave.

My son was seen by a doctor almost immediately. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly and genuinely cared about the well being of my son. I hope you don't have to visit the ER like we did, but if you do, this place is excellent.

Went in needing an ultrasound and they don’t have one. What ER DOESNT have an ultrasound machine! And the guy at the front talked to me like I was an idiot for even mentioning I needed an ultrasound! Will never go back!

The two stars are only to acknowledge that the doctor and staff were courteous and helpful. Aside from that, I'm so disappointed. I was in and out the door in 15 minutes. Stopped in around 8pm for a small wound that wouldn't stop bleeding. No wait. The doctor applied antiseptic, applied pressure, then wrapped my finger with gauze, saying there was nothing more to be done and it would stop bleeding overnight. No stitches, no anesthetic, nothing more than disinfecting the wound and a small bandage. I received one Motrin and one antibiotic, written prescriptions and sent on my way. They billed my insurance $2,445, and I now owe $925 out of pocket. Most expensive bandaid of all time. A local nurse friend referred me there thinking they were an urgent care because they are not attached to a hospital. They are an ER and even being such, charge rates that are so unreasonable. Reading these other reviews, it doesn't even sound like their pricing is consistent. Very disappointing overall.

Dont go, i walked into a clinic. Asked them how much is a cost for fever prescription. They said $150. Billed me for $150+ $385 for 5 min visit by physician. Scammers.

Rude Intake nurse Barbara Mullen is far too old and mean for her job. Sick people don't need to be made to feel worse. And, then Dr. Patel would not listen to my past experience with same illness but, insisted his way would work. Here I am 2 weeks later headed to Sacred Heart for Sinusitus. Been sick the entire time. I have insurance now however, I do know from experience that they falsely advertise as an Urgent care and shame the uninsured. Avoid This place at all cost.pun intended.

I was brought back almost as soon as I walked in, the doctor and nurse were wonderful and didn’t push any unnecessary imaging. Caring and friendly, making the whole experience much better than I could have hoped for. In and out within 1.5 hrs, so thankful to everyone there.
