Detwiler's Farm Market, Venice FL

Honestly I wouldn't bother, the Sarasota locations are SO much better. There was rotten produce EVERYWHERE; You could smell it in each section. As soon as you walked in more than half the apples were visibally rotten and caving in on themselves. The staff were all rude and unpleasant and so were most of the customers shopping. Very unpleasant shopping experience and selection of FRESH produce. Could be great if they had a better team culling and taking care of the produce and more friendly staff.

Dirty store, no masks on workers, they wipe their noses then continue to touch customers produce, stay safe, stay far away from this

Always a good selection of fresh produce, fruits and vegetables, some locally grown. Very good selection of meats and cheeses in the deli sections including a variety of fresh fishes, chicken, beef, pork, and lamb. We shop here weekly and more often if we run out of jalapeño or habanero peppers or Roma tomatoes, all of which are staples in our diets.

It’s a good idea to shop early in the morning and early in the week for the best selections and to avoid the Snowbirds when they are in town because it can get very crowded. The parking lot was recently re-paved and that helps a lot, but access to and from Tamiami Trail remains a mess while that road is being widened.

Edit (10/29/2021) : road widening now complete with traffic signal and left-turn lane (and turn light!) for northbound traffic on US-41 (Tamiami Trail). MUCH easier to enter and exit parking lot now.

Huge selection of produce. Tons of locally sourced food. Great prices. Nice and helpful staff. My family lives shopping here.

Love the quality and price of the produce and meat, as well as the delicious bakery items. This location desperately needs an upgrade - it's so crowded on Saturdays and they don't have the space to provide everything you can get in the Sarasota stores. I hope they can expand someday.

Great Fresh Food Options - especially when other places were running low on meat and vegetables - highly recommend.

Favorite farm market. They have the largest variy of fruits and vegetables. Also have a nice variety of fresh and frozen fish.

It is always a pleasant experience to shop there. The fruit and veggies are most of the time available and always fresh. And the employees are too notch in my book

I go to this store because I like certain items. The staff is very friendly. I just don't like the size of the store. Very small and cramped. It's the size of a 7-11. I drive 15 miles for a couple of items. Then go to other store I like in the area. I really don't know why they picked this location.

Love shopping at Detailers.the deli is great.the seafood even better.but the cashier today at was so so rude.she did not like me using FOOD STAMPS. Did not know how to process my order and then at teenage girl comes over to help and there both rolling there eyes ate andy husband who by the way is in a wheelchair with half a leg.so another woman possible manager comes over and processEs my order right.by that time the whole front end knows using food stamps.how embarrassing.they REALLY NEED SOME TRAINING!

We just left Venice Detwilers. Pork roast Pennsylvania C on cob large fabulous SC peaches I'm a fisherman Coast Guard. The Cobia was a treat. Good bacon and wheat bread. BLT S TONIGHT.:) STEVEN B

Worse detwiler store ever. No butcher. Employees are very unfriendly. Dirty store. Going to our detwiler store on university Sarasota

The only issue is the large number of people oblivious to the fact that others are shopping too. They left carts in the way at every part of the store or would just stand in your way, ignoring someone saying excuse me.
