My husband and I, along with 4 other couples, just returned from a 7- day, private Luxe Winter Tour of Iceland (Oct 23-30). DST handled every detail for us…all we had to do was book our flights! We were met at the airport in Keflavik and whisked to our hotel in Reykjavik, a scenic 45 minute drive.

The hotels we stayed at were 4-star…3 nights in Reykjavik, 2 in Husafell and 2 in Hella. Each hotel had its own charm and were so comfortable. The individual tour guides for the itinerary that DST planned for us were personable and knowledgeable. We soaked in 3 different thermal pools throughout the country, went on 2 evening quests for the Northern Lights (and saw them!), saw spectacular waterfalls, hiked into a Lava Cave and traversed the side of a glacier to reach the Secret Ice Caves.

We had plenty of “down time” to explore on our own as well as relax. The food in Iceland is delicious…especially the fish and lamb. There is a plethora of restaurants in Reykjavik to choose from, all within a short walking distance from our hotel. Husafell and Hella are a bit more remote but the hotel restaurants were top notch. The buffet breakfasts (included in our tour package) offered a wide variety of options…sausage, bacon, smoked salmon, eggs, breads, fruits, coffee, juices. A great way to start each day of exploring this beautiful and pristine country.

If Iceland is on your “bucket list” (it truly is a must-see!) I highly recommend that you contact Discover Scandinavia Tours. They offer small group tours (12 people max) on scheduled dates or consider their private tour, if you want more flexibility in your travel dates and want to experience Iceland with family and/or friends.

Our group of 10 all agree that our trip to Iceland was what I like to call a PLE (Peak Life Experience!).

Excellent Icelandic adventure with Discover Scandinavia Tours. Our itinerary made the most of an 8 day trip. Hotels were top notch and the guide, Bjarni, is incomparable. We had a tremendous Scandinavian Vacation because of the great job Discover Scandinavia did in advance to take care of every detail. The itinerary they put together along with the variety of modes of transportation made this a once in a lifetime trip.

All of the cities visited were fascinating.
The weather was raining, windy and miserable. Despite the weather, there were many positives. The ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo was much nicer than expected. Walking on the roof of the Opera House in Oslo was especially fun, coming upon a group of dancers rehearsing with a leader. Everyone was pleasant and spoke English.

We had a great time & appreciate DST for their expertise and caring service. Thanks in particular to Shawnna who was always available and helpful! We’d do it again without hesitation. Thanks for being a truly professional organization.

Although we enjoy planning details of our vacation trips, we opted this time to have the support offered by Discover Scandinavia because we wanted to visit 3 countries. We were thrilled with the services and support offered by DS. Every staff member encountered was professional and efficient. They were able to tailor our interests into a quite workable itinerary. The tour guides in Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm were excellent-special shout outs to Jessica and Ella. When we encountered an issue due to train cancellations, our highest interest in touring the Norwegian fjords were factored into a changed itinerary to accomplish this. Having a driver meet us at air and train stations was marvelous. A highlight of our travel was being invited into the tour guide's home for a traditional Swedish lunch-and learning a feisty song to go with it. The guides' knowledge of history and dates was remarkable. One recommendation we have is that the ambassador on site have the authority to make travel changes; our logistics person was a full 6 hours behind us which caused a number of hours waiting. All in all, we highly recommend DC for planning a top notch experience.

Our trip to Norway was the second itinerary we have booked through DST and we had another terrific experience. The hotels, transportation, tours and excursions that DST puts together are always of exceptionally high quality, and provide us a real sense of having “seen” the country we are visiting. This year we suffered a flight delay leaving the U. S.that required some reorganizing and rescheduling on the front end of our stay in Oslo. Shawnna at DST was amazing and handled everything immediately. She also helped us after we returned to ensure that we had all the correct paperwork for our travel insurance claim. I cannot say enough about how much we enjoy working with everyone at DST. They are terrific!

Recently returned from a 2 week trip DST organized in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The trip was well planned. We enjoyed the sights, the hotels and the food. Guides were informative. The variety and unusual nature of the activities, the high quality of the individual tour guides, and the smooth operation of our many transfers and meetups were extraordinary. Marcelo and his team created the best trip for us. It was perfect! They included everything we wanted to do along with some awesome experiences we would never have thought of. Referring to our 10 day group tour arranged by Marcelo's team at DST in May 2023, the vacation was excellent in all respects.
City tours were super informative. Great knowledge from great guides.
Respecting the long history and ties to early settlements in and around Stockholm (Taby area), the stone markings were a little over-emphasized but many more highlights were enjoyed throughout the area.
Kviknes Hotel in Balestrand was exceptional in all respects especially the Buffet dinner and breakfast was superior. Bergen tour of old city was very well preserved and authentic.
I never had to exchange money in all the places we traveled. Fluent English was spoken everywhere we ventured. All transfers were on time and efficient. All arrangements by your staff were superior just as on the itinerary and as tailored for our group's desires.

What a wonderful trip we had. Thank you for providing everything! Even with the beginning airline glitch, you guys worked it out for the late arrivals to get to the hotel on the same day.
Private Transfers:
They were always where they needed to be for us and did excellent jobs. We were treated as VIPs.
Hotels:
All were in the perfect location. They were clean, had spacious rooms, breakfasts were delicious and the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. Which brings to my mind, David. He was awesome. I had to call him a couple of times and he was gracious to help and answer questions. Shawnna too.
Tours:
Excellent! From Hey Captain to Viking History Day the tour guides were engaging and knew their history. Some walked with us to our next activity and continued to share. Also, every time we asked the tour guides for ideas for lunch or dinner, they came through with the best suggestions. The food we ate at their favorite restaurants was outstanding.
Getting To and From
We did not experience any problems. Great information from the start. It's all in the details and we had the details!
