Dixie Animal Hospital, Palmetto Bay FL

Thanks to Dr Smiley and nurse Alexis for taking great care of our dog, Sophia last Thursday. We were able to get in quickly and had excellent care. Happily, Sophia's issues are resolving nicely and she's on her way back to 100%!

I’m extremely disappointed and utterly upset with the service that was given to my daughter and I regarding our dog.
The new doctor / vet, Georgette’s Servito was unprofessional and harsh with her words and actions. We have been going there for 16 yrs with Dr. Rene and have never experienced this type of treatment!
DO NOT GO THERE OR ALLOW THIS WOMAN TO HANDLE YOUR ANIMAL SHE HAS NO COMPASSION FOR ANYONE ESPECIALLY ANIMALS!

I Just started taking my pet here a couple of months ago and everytime I go Im impressed with the customer service and attention from the doctors and staff. Price is reasonable and so far they have had a good availability for appointments without having to wait a whole week like in other places.

The staff at the Dixie Animal Hospital are kind and prepared. I highly recommend any of their many services.

It's always amazing. The staff are kind and caring to my animal and Dr. Pegalow (sp?) goes above and beyond. I have total confidence that my pet is treated well and professionally at Dixie Animal Hospital.

I had an appt.for one of our dogs for some routine blood work and had additional questions on some anxiety issues that she suffers from. I was very pleased with Dr. Servito. She was very knowledgeable, had a great bedside manner and was genuinely interested in my dogs welfare. I also want to give a shout out to Dr. Pegelow. He called me on a Sunday with my dogs blood work results and had asked me more questions regarding Maisys anxiety and recommended some options for an anti anxiety drug for which we had tried various things but hadn’t worked. I was pleasantly surprised that I got a call on a Sunday with my dogs results. Most times with our previous vet we wouldn’t hear anything in a week or more and we would call. We usually felt rushed and wouldn’t get our questions answered. When I went to pick up Maisys new med for anxiety I was surprised to see some samples of a fish oil supplement in the bag when I got home since we had also discussed early onset arthritis symptoms. I highly recommend this veterinary clinic and all of its staff!

I just recently started taking my animals (cats and dogs) to Dixie Animal Hospital and I am extremely happy with the care they have provided. I started with taking in my cat with a urinary issue and they diagnosed and treated him and he is now doing great. After this great experience, I transitioned the rest of my animals to their care. They really care and always follow up after visits and treatments to make sure the pet is still doing well.

Came here to adopt a kitty I had seen on petfinder. When I walked in, the front desk wasn’t too welcoming but I understood because it was 30 minutes before closing. I asked for the cat I wanted to adopt, saw him, spent a few minutes with him, and filled out paperwork for him. Once I was done, I was told I would get a call to have an interview with the vet. I was excited and under the impression that I would have to wait for the phone call, have the interview to see if I had an ideal home setting for the cat and be able to take him home with me. At no moment did anyone think to mention that other people had also filled out paperwork for the same pet and that there would be a chance that I wouldn’t get the cat I went in for. Definitely something that should be mentioned during an adoption process. Make sure to ask if you come here to adopt a pet.

Dr Pegelow and Dr Carneros are empathetic and knowledgeable. Dr Pegelow, however, will stand by his students in the event of a non lethal mistake. If you keep pushing for the truth he may start to Sachay and Shantay. Or harness all the "power" of being white & male to suddenly start talking down to you. Or no longer take your case.

Terrible Terrible Lack of Professionalism
visited for the adoption of a kitten for my girlfriend was made file out application and told we had to wait until for “vet” to Monday was rushed out the same day and said we couldn’t adopt the kitten until Monday…. Monday no call was made then Tuesday they call to say the kitten was adopted.ridiculous… never was told there was adopted parents ahead of us… very strange personnel working here do not recommend go to a shelter instead bunch of Coo-Coos working here GOD BLESS!

We took our beautiful beloved champion cat "Linus" (actually won a price in New York) for a 10 stay while we went on vacation.
We had done it in April for a period of 3 days, in that occasion when we picked up Linus the staff had grummed him and he was happy.
This time around, we got our cat dirty, with pup stuck to his fur and a lesion in one eye and nose. The medicine for his eye was prescribed the day before we picked him up. He is hiding and scared.
Does any doctor supervises how these animals are treated?

Update: The front Office Stuff and Manager acknowledged my concern although we disagreed on the root cause of Linus problem. The Dr. Spent a lot of time with Linus, performed several examinations and treatments and prescribed some medicines for home and gave me a substantial discount. The Cat is doing much better. They really care for customer satisfaction. I would recommend this Hospital hands down.

Dixie Animal Hospital is the place to bring your pet. From caring and compassionate staff to knowledgeable and courteous veterinarians. Dr Pegelow will answer all your questions and advise how best to care for your pet. The follow up is swift and thorough and you will never feel rushed or pressured. Thankfully they were highly recommended to me and I in turn can now highly recommend them.

Fantastic and caring team here! We're extremely pleased with the quality of care our dog receives from Dr. Pegelow and his staff. The staff is very organized and hospitable. In my interactions with Dr. Pegelow he's proven to be an effective communicator, empathetic, with great bedside manner.

I am very happy I found Dixie animal hospital. The whole team really cares about the well being of my senior chihuahua and provide me with all the info I need. Dr. Pegelow does follow-up calls and patiently answers all my questions.
