Hi, Dj was very nice, the price was very good. He even gave us a drybag where I put my doritos in!
The experience was great and very easy as an unexperienced Kayak-paddler.

DJ was so helpful and made the experience so easy and enjoyable. The kayaks we used for fishing and they were very sturdy and reliable. The water was so peaceful and had so much beautiful nature to look at.

DJ was pleasant to deal with, knew his stuff, and was very accommodating. Dropped our kayak at the boat ramp and hung around until we were situated. The kayaks were clean and in good condition. The PFD's were clean, dry and ready to use. His prices were reasonable.

My little sister and I thoroughly enjoyed DJ. We almost cancelled because she became scared. He answered all of our questions before cancelling. This made me feel that he cared so we kept it. Everything he gave us, kayak, life jackets, whistle and the ores were clean and not run down. The kayaks were well maintained with comfortable seats with backs not the floppy ones. He drove our kayak to the river and helped us in, he pushed us off, helped with jackets and gave tips about the waters. Then picked us up and we went home. Will return. Wonderful experience. Wasn’t busy. The lake was clean too. Was not over populated.

DJ made the whole process of getting everything together so easy and our kids had a blast!

DJ’s Kayak Rentals is easy, fast and convenient. Mr. DJ takes the kayak to the lake side for you and picks them up. Takes all the hard work out of it. Affordable, fast and friendly service. DJ’s Kayak rentals is a hidden little gem out in Melrose. With DJ’s great hospitality and easy transition into the water he makes the experience worth while. His office is about 2 blocks from the drop off location at Santa Fe lake and once you arrive he gives great directions on where you can paddle around the lake. DJ’s kayaks have nice little safe keeps inside, large enough to store your keys and cellphone and other small items you might need! His phone number is located on the side of the kayaks so once you’re done for the day, ring him up and he meets you at the landing to pick up the equipment! A pretty flawless business I might say! I was interested in going kayaking with my husband for 2 years now, so we've been looking for a place nearby to try it out for the first time. DJ's Kayak Rentals had great reviews and ratings and the weather was supposed to be nice this weekend, so we reserved 2 solo 'yaks.

DJ was welcoming, informative, and friendly. Truly Scrumptious, his doggo, was also friendly and gave me a big hug on the way in the shop. DJ let us know of the higher winds expected for the day before we started the rental, which was quite considerate of him.

The price for each of our rental yak was $30 plus tax, making our grand total about $65, which was affordable compared to some of the higher priced rental companies around the area. We had our own life vests, warm clothing that we didn't mind getting wet, and water shoes so we were prepared as far as clothing/outfits go.

After we signed some standard liability waivers, DJ led the way with his truck to Melrose boat ramp, which leads to Santa Fe Lake. He gave us a few beginner pointers and helped us launch the boats.

We had a great time and an hour went by pretty quickly. Our arms definitely got a workout since the middle of the lake was choppy from motorboats going by. Definitely recommend this locally-owned shop for first-time 'yakkers:)

Great time! An old growth cypress grove is on this lake where we could paddle through the trees. Egrets, osprey, piliated woodpecker and a magical feeling with the Spanish moss and majestic trees! Felt really safe with excellent suggestions on where to go, high quality, kayaks, lifejackets, and even a whistle in case something went wrong.

Absolutely loved our day on the lake with DJ’s kayaks! Wonderful equipment, gorgeous scenery, great people! Will be back!

Great time with excellent kayaking equipment. Santa Fe Lake is surrounded by the Old Florida look of tall mature cypress and reeds everywhere with not a billboard in sight. But if you like spying on turtles, osprey and eagles nesting this spot is for you. And DJ could not be more welcoming or hospitable. We’ll be back.

I had a very last minute fishing trip and called him, he was polite, explained everything, encouraged saftey with a life jacket. This was amazing and I will be using kayaking services again!

Just had a great day on Santa Fe River. Dj has great prices for the kayaking and such friendly service. He is personable and very accommodating. Couldn’t be more happy with the whole experience.

Rental was super easy. We were able to reserve two kayaks same day. DJ was ready for us when we arrived and was informative on boat usage and safety as well as the good spots to see.

DJ runs a professional, attentive and accommodating outfit, operating from a short stop to the Santa Fe Lake Boat Ramp. It was easy and convenient to rent, then launch via his white glove kayak valet service. He transported and retrieved the kayaks, making it a breeze to enjoy the beautiful waters of Melrose Bay.

Had a good time, owner is helpful and down to Earth. Also, the price isn’t inflated like everywhere else these days

Great February day kayaking with our 35# dog. DJ was spot on knowing that a single kayak would comfortably fit a person and the dog, We saw lots of bird life along the cypress groves on Lake Sante Fe and enjoyed exploring the canals. Super easy and fun, a great rental.
