Doc Bales' Grill reviews
18All staff members were very nice and helpful, wearing clean uniforms and well groomed. However the breakfast buffet was low quality and a little overpriced
Advertised fish and shrimp buffet. Buffet changed to prime rib of beef, overcooked, baked calamari was cold. To me this was not worth the price they charged. Waiter was great but the food was not as advertised.
Staff pleasant and professional. Atmosphere must be what we're paying for, breakfast on the beach. Food was standard hotel breakfast adding salmon but still I can't see breakfast being $24.95 per person. We were given coupon for free meals by Hilton staff or I would have never paid $24.95 for breakfast. Didn't have lunch or dinner so can't say if it was better. Breakfast was ok but not worth the charge.
Had reservations at 7pm lady said parking ran $40 so It was a no go! Disappointed to say the least!
We had the buffet and added on some crab legs. This is an upscale southern style buffet and the food was delicious. Our server Danielle was amazing. She provided top notch service and she had the best table side manner. I'd recommend this restaurant and hope to return during our next visit to Daytona.
Food was excellent. Unfortunately, they don't have the crab legs and ahi tuna any longer. Selection not quite as large as pre-pandemic, but food & staff were excellent.
Delicious deserts, okay food, and wonderful service. I went based on a previous experience and didn't realize until partially filling my plate that they no longer serve crab legs (the only reason we visited). The servers were very kind and constantly had our glasses full and plates cleared but the food was mediocre and I was slightly surprised to see they automatically charged $17 gratuity for the three of us. Overall I was very disappointed in the removal of the all you can eat crab legs and don't feel the rest of it was worth 40 a person
Everything was okay from the breakfast buffet. Our server was good. The downfall of Doc Bales' Grill on Sunday morning, May 29, was Phillip the cook coming over to our table and being way too pushy about us giving a review right then and there, in the middle of us eating. Weren't even close to being done. It was very rude. Guy does not belong with guests. Wouldn't leave until he sees my girlfriend open the review page on her phone completely invading her privacy, and wants to proceed to tell us exactly what to write on the review.felt like we were being held hostage. I don't like that because first off, we will give a review when and if we want, but especially not in the middle of eating our meal. Our experience wasn't even over yet. Secondly, your not going to tell us what to write in our review sentence for sentence. That's absurd. Shame on you Phillip. Learn to take some social cues.
Tina our server deserves 5 stars but overall experience was awful. The advertise a menu but when we get here the only choice we’re given is the breakfast buffet, with a hot omelet, “sausage” which is essentially one of those hot dog links gross, fruit that’s hardly ripe and lacking, coffee was buffet coffee so take that as you will. Honestly just go to the iHop down the road - sure you won’t get a view but at least the food will be better.
Dont eat here. They make it seem like they have all you can eat crab legs but that's discontinued. Prime rib is over cooked. Everything else was either dried out or missing. Then the topper is they added a 20% gratuity to my bill but then made it seem like it wasn't there to try and get another tip. Come on Hilton, you can do better than this cause for over $100.00 for 2 people to eat greasy food, it was a waste of money and will ensure to never recommend this to anyone else!
Vacation Day #1- Breakfast was a great experience. Food was fresh. Staff friendly.
Our server (Danielle) was amazing. Very friendly and efficient with service. Always smiling. I appreciate your work ma'am.
Fair weekend buffet but nothing special $30. To park if you don't get your parking ticket validated
Ate the dinner buffet twice while we were here. It was surprisingly delicious! We loved the lemon herb chicken and green beans! Service was great too!
We went for the dinner buffet to celebrate my birthday. I went based on the pictures and online reviews. We were very disappointed. Nothing like we expected especially since its located in the Hilton. The selection was very limited. The set up was in a small corner room and not appealing at all. Half if what I tried was dead cold and the other half was bland or greasy. We also noticed that even though it was a Saturday, it was very quiet only about 5 tables were occupied (we visited April 2022). We were also expecting some other seafood selections.there was cocktail shrimp and fried cod that was as bland and cold as sandpaper. Needless to say we would not go back or recommend it. Definitely not worth the price. The only bright spark was our server Ali. She was very polite and attentive. I didn't even take any pictures of the meals because there was nothing worth taking.
What a let down. Terrible selection of food. The food has no taste. Save your money. This place is such a joke.
Was not satisfied the lady April who seated us was very rude. She didn't tell us it was a buffet and never told us our waiter would be with us. Then I I ask her a question about how old the children age was she tells me 12 and under. So I ask her if my bill can be fix because my son is 12 because he is 12 she says yea sure he is. What's that suppose to mean just because he's a big boy he can't be 12.s so now my son feeling are hurt because he is feeling some type of way because he already has a weight problem. So I think April needs to be trained again in customer service or get a new job. I will never be dinning at this place ever again
We had a large party of 12 with children. They were very accommodating making the seating comfortable. We were even given a choice of a rectangular table or circular which was nice. Dinner was great and we weren't charged for the kids. Great overall and our waitress was friendly. Even took some great family photos towards the end
Overpriced buffet, no menu options.was a take it of leave it scenario. Food was like warm and a limited choice. Not worth the week day price.
