Doc Ford's Rum Bar and Grille St Pete Pier reviews
16 First time at this Doc Ford's. The food was great and the service was good. I enjoyed the grouper sandwich and my date enjoyed his steak dinner. Atmos on the water was amazing
Thanks
Cool, cool place. Service has always been mediocre at best. Served the wrong food and the server was so happy to say he rang it in right and deflect, I just want the right food without an attitude. Drinks are on point, location is sweet. Food quality if correct, is pretty good. Service is subpar for the price.
The waiter was patient and super nice. The food was AMAZING! My husband and I vote it the best place we ate at while vacationing here. I got the grouper with coconut rum sauce and rice/veggies. The rice was plain jane, I’d ask for extra coconut sauce on top of the rice next time. Otherwise, it was super yummy. My husband got the shrimp pasta with citrus sauce. We both thought it was super good. We got the baked oysters and Yucatán shrimp and holy smokes were they both delicious! Definitely try them if you go. The shrimp was buttery and tangy seriously so good.
Doc Ford’s is an excellent seafood spot that we love to visit but had to write a review today because the customer service with the hostess Madison was horrendous and affects the ambience and customer experience in such a negative way. She’s very rude to the customers and non-caring and completely aloof and be better off doing dishwasher duty then a hostess.
Best atmosphere ever for the St Pete pier. Good food, great choices, reasonable prices and fabulous harbor view. Added airshow from airport activity.
It's was so cold in there today
Food and service was good.
Lots of parking and reasonably priced
So good! We LOVED the fish tacos and the shrimp tacos. Great outdoor vibe and nice servers.
Several years ago, my wife and I found Doc Ford's in Sanibel and enjoyed eating there each year. Last year we moved to Bradenton and have visited the St. Pete location a few times. Wife really likes the Yucatan shrimp! This past Thursday we stopped in after the boat show. Wife ordered her dish and I decided to try the Cuban sandwich. Big mistake! From the moment it arrived I could smell something not right with the pork meat. I tried a couple of bites, and it was definitely bad! Took a while to get our server's attention, so when she finally came by, I told her something was wrong with the sandwich. She took it away and never came back to ask is I wanted something else! This is a great location, but the service is ok, and the food is not worth it (except for the Yucatan shrimp!). So many other great places to dine in St. Pete!
PS- Just from the few bites I had of the sandwich I ended up having stomach problems that evening! They really need to be more careful of how they handle their food!
Seriously understaffed. 1 bartender and no servers on outdoor deck
Otherwise a great place
Great location on the pier. Extremely busy and staff did their best to keep up and set our expectations at the outset. Little noisy but great spot
Food is great best we have had in along time babe loves it and that's rare she said really good.
Try the Grouper & Homemade Apple Crisp! We had Cornealous as a server Cornelous as a server 1000% recommend!
Great spot on the pier! Outdoor seating, live music (some nights), good food, good service, great views, plenty of parking (most days).
We went there on Fri 1/12 for lunch with 6 adults and 2 children. After 1 1/2 hours we were served a mediocre expensive meal. The waiter advised us to not get "the signature garbage fish" and go for the more expensive option. The kids received cold Mac and cheese from a box. Definitely won't be bringing out of town guests there again
This restaurant is on the pier of St. Pete. We went there to see the pier and stopped in for some drinks and appetizers. We ordered some flatbreads and they were delicious. Our server Skylar was amazing! He made the whole experience great. Also the view of the gulf is nice.
Food was delicious! Our server Becky was great! Will be back for the macadamia crusted grouper!
