DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Jacksonville Airport reviews
18If you visit Jacksonville, FL, please do not stay at this hotel. This hotel front desk staff is not friendly and very unprofessional. They do not value the customer or Hilton Honors members. The cleaning crew was very friendly and professional.
Good representation of a Hilton property. Easy check-in, digital key, nice restaurant with small but varied choices. Room was quiet even close to airport.
Unfortunately they let our pizza sit at the desk until my husband went down to see if it had been been delivered. By then it was cold. Christine at desk said she didn't know who it was for. Wasn't bright enough to look on box to see the room number! And she said she was too busy. There were 2 people at front desk.
About to give up on Hilton. Stayed about 15 to 20 nights this year in 4 or 5 different states and each hotel seems to be lacking in same areas except for 1 which was new. The JAX Double Tree followed the same pattern of: subpar breakfast that you get free at lower end chains, broken and/or dirty items in rooms, lack of upgrades (not due to availability, but not offered at "this" property), asking for extra bottle of water seems to be a burden, lots of stripped down service but same prices or higher precovid.
Weird layout. Second floor rooms are 800's. Get off elevator; take a right, left right. Down hallway then left, right, left. Down another hallway then left, right.building has a weird smell, can't define it. Fitness room is lame.
Great location and great place for when you visit and very convenient in your way out, the proximity to the airport is a plus and the hotel is very nice, from the lobby to all the facilities and rooms.
Breakfast, cookies and water are provided and the way to get to the hotel is well marked on the way to the airport.
The only little thing was that the breakfast was only attended by one person and he was overwhelmed with the amount of people being served, but the manager came to help out and the breakfast was well served.
Is a good thing that they have a menu with nice options to order from instead of the run of the mill breakfast served almost in every hotel now a days.
Enjoy your stay
Great hotel to stay at! Right on St. Johns river. It was peaceful and relaxing the whole time. Parking, service, pool and rooms, everything was great.
I liked the decor. It still feels like a current style, but it is showing a lot of wear. Also it wasn’t as clean as it should be for a hotel of its class, not through any fault of housekeeping though, it was more of a maintenance issue, stained carpet, paint needed on walls that were scratched up, things of that nature. Although, the towels were clean and bright. The linens clean, and bed and pillows definitely comfortable. There was no odd smell in the room and the air conditioning worked well. The walls were a bit dirty. The curtain hard to pull shut. There was a bit of mold in tub, and rust on some of the fixtures and furniture. The stairwells were not finished as nicely as even some of the 2 star hotels where I’ve stayed recently (no carpet here). We mostly use stairways, and I do appreciate a great stairwell. They were wide though, and would definitely be ample in an emergency situation. All in all it wasn’t too bad for the price.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Parking was convenient, although you do need to place a pass in your car window. Lobby was nicely renovated. Rooms, however, need some updates and repairs. My room showed a long history of water damage in several places in the ceiling and had water dripping actively from one of them, just inside the room, possibly from the air conditioning coils leaking into the surrounding ceiling? I would not choose the hotel again. That's simply not the condition a room should be allowed to reach and still be utilized/occupied.
Nice hotel. Rooms are a little on the small side and the restaurant is a little pricey. Overall not a bad place to stay.
The hotel staff was friendly however it was very chilly outside and nothing was done to make the common areas warmer and more comfortable!
This hotel is a joke. Top priced hotel on airport area. Couldn't get front desk on the phone to order shuttle, had to walk from airport at midnight. Room was not clean, shaved hair all over sink faucet, bed sheets messy had to change room. New room mold and odor smell. No breakfast included in $124.00 price? ! Wouldn't mind all this for $40.00 rate. Poor.
This hotel is incredibly out of date. The common areas were not clean. There were marks all over the walls. The first room we went to reeked of weed. The second room we went to smell somewhat musty and wasn't incredibly clean but it was late and I had an early flight so I stayed. When I mentioned the problems to the girl when I checked out she didn't even acknowledge that I had said anything.
Had an adjoining room. Pretty sure door was made of paper. Heard every word, with air and TV on. Bathroom is tiny, like abnormally I can not sit tiny.room was suite and very nice size. Door has been painted so much won't close easy. Be careful if traveling alone. Staff both front desk and restaurant very nice, professional, and outgoing. Lobby is very nice, new! Location is awesome! Weirdly high windows.
Room smelled like cigarettes. And facility needs major updating.but for 103 a night it's budget friendly reminds me of motel 6
Nice Hotel close to the airport. Walking from the terminal seems doable (haven't tried it) but you need to find your own way - there is no marked path. Room was clean and in good condition - stayed on the 6th floor in the main tower. Room is not well insulated - you can hear everything loud and clear from the neighbour room mainly through the connection door. Note that the size of the rooms is shown wrong in the floorplan in the app. Some rooms look like big sites but are just small standard rooms.
Great location! They recommend that you take the shuttle to the airport, but I found the walk easy and quick. There was a loud event going on at the hotel, but my room was totally quiet. Everything was clean and comfortable. The room was on the small side, but that was fine by me as I was travelling alone. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Close proximity to airport, but noisy. The property is overpriced for the product and service offering! Restaurant lacked personnel and the food availability and presentation was not up to par. I ordered a Quesadilla, and the cheese was not melted. Didn't return it because it would have been a longer wait to receive something else. Breakfast choices were limited as well.
