I’m really really confused and upset on the fact that this company will not communicate with me on where my deposit refund is? It has almost been a month and I have not even received my deposit statement. It was supposed to be done in 72 hours and they started my statement a week from my move out date. Why are you keeping money from someone that did nothing wrong to this company. I can’t even provide anything for my household and buy anything I need to get my through the week. I have went to corporate 2 times and they have not even fully communicated ANYTHING with me. I need my deposit refund. I used to be an employee here at Douglaston and everything was good until you really get to see everyone true colors. So I’m going to need corporate to communicate with me on my deposit refund as soon as possible. Other tenants that had moved out when I worked there and went to corporate because of there deposit or some other reason they got help and communication. Why can’t I get the same?

Never rent again in Douglaston Villas! They rent me a unit that at the beginning everything looks nice and clean but passing the weeks with the rain my room start to be floated. I report the issue the first time by a email with pictures and videos showing the evidence of the water inside my room. They take action trying to fix the problem but my apartment still getting floated every time rain. I still sending emails with the issue every time rain and they was offering a new unit but charging me $75 for application fee, $300 for transfer fee, $700 of deposit again that they have already when i recently move and the $1,479 for the month of rent to get my new unit. I just ask for be transfer to a new init without issues and without unnecessary fees that i pay already at the beginning. Other thing my apartment have a bad insolation and the walls are leaving a brown dust in the floor that are causing me health problems.

Cannot get the air conditioner fixed after multiple maintenance requests. The electricity bills have been sky high and it is hotter in our apartment than it is outside. The a/c unit constantly freezes over no matter what temperature setting we put it at and maintenance comes out, says they will be back later to fix something else and then days and weeks go by with nothing until we report the problem again. They have already had to patch a hole in the coat closet due to the a/c unit leaking through but have no tfixed the a/c to prevent another a hole to form caused by the leaky unit. The a/c is an insufficient size for a 3 bedroom apartment, there are no ceiling fans to at least alleviate some of the discomfort, and there is no way to open the window in the master bedroom to at least let the cooler air outside into the apartment. I have requested a professional air conditioning company to come assess the unit, to be moved to another unit or just be let out of our lease with no penalty because we just can’t live this way anymore. I have a medical issue that causes me to pass out when I get overheated and at this point this is an unsafe place for me to live. We have to put ice packs on ourselves just to get through the day since we work from home and have no respite from the heat.

I would appreciate if someone would help us come up with a solution to this issue. The only reason we even renewed the lease this year was because I literally just had surgery when the lease was up and could not physically move. If you advertise that your apartments provide air conditioning then any reasonable person would take that to mean that it is a working air conditioner, not that you just have one that sits there, blows warm air and makes your electricity bill unaffordable. I will include a photo of the level of maintenance available here. This is not a picture of our unit but is the one across from us. This awning has been like this since we moved in a year and a half ago. We pay almost $2000 per month for this level of service.

Pay more get less if you're renting here. All the amenities are chained up, even the dog park.

Run. Away.

Overpriced ($1800 for a 2/2) and our energy bill was $300, then $400, and now we just got hit with a $500 energy bill. Front office’s response when we asked for help was “break the lease, we don’t want to do anything, quit exaggerating. ” The insulation hasn’t been replaced since the units were built almost 50 years ago AND IT SHOWS. The AC is fighting for its life and my energy bill is reflecting that. This is a frickin’ scam.

Ant infestation from day 1.

The landscapers and trash come regularly and maintenance is quick on responses, but that is literally the only good things to say here.

If there was a no star, I would give it.
We have been dealing with a leak in our bedroom closet for two years now.
I have tried to be patient with the unskilled maintenance staff but after $600 dollars out of my pocket trying to control the leak I went to talk to the manger (if you want to call her that) and was told that I could either break the lease or just simply not renew another lease.
I asked her were those the options that she’s giving me instead of having a professional come and repair the outside leak?
She stated that if I didn’t have an attitude that the service could be better.
Wrong answer!
Now after 8 years of never failing to pay my rent on time I’m done.
I have to come home to what looks like a junk lot at the front of my unit while the manager sends the staff to work on landscape in around her unit on a daily.
The management is rude and very unprofessional and the maintenance staff (If thats what you want to call them) is only qualified to pick up trash which is not done at all.
This once was a very nice place to live but the people that run it have let this place go to the dogs and hogs.
If your thinking of moving here, don't waste your money nor your time.
Until the company gets staff onboard that knows what their doing and is professional this place will continue to just fall by the wayside.

This is the worst place I have ever lived. Asked multiple times to repair things in the apartment never got fixed. Electric bill is almost $400 for a 1200 sf apartment and asked many times to fix the a/c they never fixed problem so the a/c wouldn’t run 24/7 and now my a/c is broke and the maintenance man is no where to be found.

I just want to say after living here since 3/2017. After Scott left, this place started going downhill. Then after couple new office staff that came and left, we got Katana. Don’t care what people say but she is doing her damnest to get things right. And the maintenance people, I’m glad they still have Valentin and Espino. Very knowledgeable men who knows what they’re doing. About a week ago they had an outside contractor come out to fix the ac. He had all the hookups done but couldn’t get it to work. Val came in and took him 3 minutes to figure it out. Ac worked! Espino came this morning installed new ac and took him a little over and hour to get it up and running! Awesome work! Thank you all!

I have been at Douglaston Villas for a few years and I am so happy with renting here. Miss Katana and staff are always friendly and helpful when needed. The staff is always looking for ways to make things better and make it a true community feeling where everyone can come together.

Finally time to vent after 3 years of mold issues n flooding. I moved n realized what maintainer reslly is. Douglaston has no clue. Horrible horrible horrible

Denied for an apartment 12/1/22. Per the brochure in office and the email sent to me from Vivian stating the administration fee will be refunded within 72hours. Several emails later without a refund and was told via email to dispute the charge through my bank. The administration staff were not honest when indicating the refund was issued until proof was requested. This is not good business etiquette.

I want to give my opinion for the most irresponsible people I've seen there Mice, they don't fix things for 2 weeks with the air damaged doors damaged holes in the ceilings for more than 6 months maintenance came I showed them and they didn't fix anything they are the most irresponsible in the world no I recommend it to no one to live, it is useless, the person in charge is useless, they should be fired with how expensive the rent is for the service, they have 0 and that in the conditions of the house, a total neglect
