After 4 years of seeing Dr. Elizabeth, then taking a brief hiatus because of a move to another home, I rescheduled with her a few months ago when I came back, to deal with a squamous cell carcinoma that needed removal on my tibia, (leg), and the appointment was gladly scheduled two months out.

Then, LESS THAN TWO WEEKS before my appointment and NEEDED excision, she had her assistant, Mary, (I still have her voice mail message on my phone) call me to inform me that ". Dr. McKay is going to SWITCH YOU to a PA, because she's too busy with Mohs Surgery" (that pays 15 times more per excision, as the AMA and the Mohs Institute shows).

I asked her why she didn't tell me this when I called TWO MONTHS earlier as the cancer was present then, and I'd have had another Derm do the wrok. Needless to say, it was rather concerning as this Path Report cancerous lesion was growing on my leg, 1 mm from the bone, and she "bagged" me and my appointment, because she obviously wanted to make more money, ""shuffling" me off to an assistant who isn't qualified to do surgery (generally, PA's can't do surgery.without an MD or DO present).

I'm sorry to say I was greatly distressed and wrote her a 2-page letter telling her this on my medical company letter head (I'm a retired Medical Director, former Research Doctor, and President of a Medical Company in 22 States) telling her this. NO RESPONSE FROM HER. NOT A WORD. NOT AN APOLOGY. NOTHING.

Anyone that thinks she's a "caring" person is incorrect. Perhaps long ago, but it's now evident she's in it for the money. Don't buy into that fake smile.

Maybe she'll respond to me filing a medical complaint with the Florida Board of Medicine via my attorney, when she sees it's on her permanent record, then, has to show up with her lawyer in a Medical License hearing and possibly fined, as the lesion has become more invasive because I had to reschedule with another dermatologist who handled the problem... We think. I'm still thinking about it and my company's General Counsel says I should.

He thinks maybe a personal injury lawsuit will get her attention also.

To think I once gave her very positive reviews and liked her very much. She's changed to follow the $$$ even though she said to me she'd NEVER do this as I pointed out to her in my letter to her. Apparently, the same thing happened when there was a reported MRSA event in her office, I read online, and she didn't respond to that person also. I can only say I read about it. Also another person I know, an 8-year patient of hers, who is a Golf Director of a well known golf club in Stuart was neglected by a PA in her office that didn't call him for a cancerous lesion follow up on a Path report... It got far worse requiring him to get multiple surgeries to resolve the issue (on his nose) from another surgeon. He never will go back to her again.

She used to be such a good dermatologist, but those days are obviously behind her as she's going on 55 years old. As a medical professional, retired, you can do much better than seeing a PA, or her.
