Dr. Larry D. Canton, DO, Clearwater FL

I’ve seen Dr. Canton for 8+ years. I appreciate his time however; you need to be prepared to wait in a room for an average of an hour before he comes in to see you. Today I had to leave without being seen after being there approximately 1hour and 40 minutes and still not being seen. My time is valuable as well and very upsetting that the time to be seen is ridiculous! Not sure if he’s being overlooked but something needs to change or I may have to look for another physician.

Dr Canton rocks, but even someone as impatient as I am can appreciate his attentivness, and bedside manner. I've been seeing the doctor since 2012

I have been seeing Dr. Canton for about 2 years now. I usually don't write reviews, especially for healthcare providers, however, I felt I needed to share my positive experience. He has always been kind and professional as well as understanding and knowledgable. Recently, his staff went above and beyond to work me in for a same day appointment. Everyone was kind and they were efficient with the appointment from start to finish. Dr Canton is definitely a great practitioner and I would highly recommend his office!

I've been with dr. Canton for over 15 years, my whole family in fact has been under his care for as long as we've been residents here in Florida he's the most amazing and personable doctor anyone could ever ask for, he is not a numbers man nor does he play the numbers game, he is a very personable and very intelligent man, he's been practicing for 25 plus years, the only individual to take his state boards, missing one answered question, thus disputing it to his peers and his peers stood corrected, as Dr. Canton was correct after all.bottom line, he's the Dr every individual should have a right to. So blessed and grateful your our families Dr.

I am so disappointed in what has come of health care. I do not have a primary care physician. 1st apt I met the doctor after waiting an excessive amount of time, had some tests done, then came in for the results. They are cash or check only and I did not know this. My 1st apt was covered by insurance. My 2nd apt was at 2pm, I used my lunch break to not miss work. They told me to leave and go get the $25, my copay was ONLY $25. I asked if I could come back after work, the receptionist had to get approval. She called me back up and the office manager said no. To review my test results.are you kidding me! So disappointing!

What a joke. Limited parking to kick things off. Overbooked so the wait to be seen is absurd. CASH only. The communication between the doctor and patient is the worst I’ve ever experienced in my life. My questions weren’t even answered because he was on to the next paying customer within minutes. Did I mention that what I initially came to him for wasn’t even addressed? Yeah, that as well.

Waited for a response from him regarding something important, he didn’t even bother responding. It’s been two weeks. —This way, I get the pleasure of missing work to come BACK to discuss things that should’ve been a simple phone call. Talk about money hungry.

First visit wait - None
Second visit wait- an HOUR plus.
Third, and final visit wait- an HOUR. Will never go back unless it’s for a refund.

Dr Canton is the kindest, most gentlest doctor. I have been seeing him since 2008. He thorough with his patients, so yes you may wait a little longer, but for the care he gives, and compassionate bedside manner, he is well worth it.

For over 25 years Dr. Canton has been taking care of our family. A real family doctor who takes care of the minor issues as well as keeps us up to date on any screenings and tests that needs to be done in order to stay healthy. He is professional, caring and possesses a rare quality that is missing from many doctors these days in that he actually listens to his patients. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my first line in medical care.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Canton and his staff. I've seen them for several months now and Dr. Canton is always very attentive, helpful, and thorough. Excellent PCP.

Worst doctor experience ever! Had to wait almost 2 hours after my appointment and then he prescribed me 2 wrong medicine's and wouldn't correct them over the phone. They wanted me to make another appointment and since i don't have insurance i wasn't spending another $150. What a joke, i went for help for anxiety and ended up worse than before

I’ve been here almost 2 hours and haven’t seen the doctor yet. I’m here for an annual physical, nothing major. Also, finding out I can only pay in cash means I won’t be coming back since HSAs are useless with that rule.

Great staff, great doctor. Fastest doc visit I've ever had. This is my 3rd visit to Dr. Canton and he takes care of me and gets me on my way.

Dr. Canton is so awesome and his staff reflects nothing less than awesome too. Searching for a great Doctor ends here. Consider yourself lucky if he is still accepting patients!

I just start seeing Doctor Canton 3 weeks ago, i got my second apappointment and im so impressed with his and staff professionalism.

This is the worst doctor's office. Wait times are longer than 1 hr (one time I think they almost forgot I was there). They constantly change nurses.you'll never see the same one from one visit to another and they only take cash or check.

I have had 4 appointments at this Doctors office. The experience has been consistent without change.

I will say I was going to rate 1 star but I have to say that Dr. Canton himself is an AWESOME Doctor. He is very thorough, very nice and understanding and this earned another star.

Most of my complaint is with the office and how the business is ran.

All 4 times I've been to this office with a scheduled appointment my wait to see the doc has always been at least 1 hour and 20 minutes. No joke. The last 3 times I actually went up front and told them I would have to reschedule and just leave if I wasn't seen in a timely manner. I waited. That didn't help.

The other complaint is that this office does not accept any other payment method except cash. It's 2017. CASH ONLY IS UNACCEPTABLE. This makes using my Health Care Spending Account very difficult.

17 years Dr Canton has been my Doctor. The appointments do tend to run long but that's the price you pay when you have a doctor that will sit and listen to you. He will sit with you to develope a wellness plan and spend the time with you that many doctors won't.

His office schedule is flexable with late hours on Tuesdays and also open every other Saturday.

Many times if he has to prescribe medication he will send you out the door with whatever he prescribes with a few samples if he has them which helps tremendously in knowing before you fill the written prescription if it will work or if you have any challenges with the medicine he prescribes.
On that note if you are looking for a doctor to write you a fist full of narcotics this is not the doctor for you, Dr Canton is a solution seeking Doctor with a degree in Osteopathic Medicine, not a pill pusher.

Also, his payment method is cash or check only, to avoid the additional cost of using plastic.

1st visit I waited over an hour after my appointment time.

2nd visit it's been 35 min.still not seen by the doctor.
