This guy is a space cadet, I would suggest him to retire
my son has a terrible reflux and doesn’t gain weight as needed and that was confirmed by other doctors, but that guy said “he is just nervous”

My son was seeing Dr Adams for gas and stomach issues. He had an endoscopy and was told he had some irritation in his esophagus and should take the required medications. The problem was that I wanted a second opinion because the medicines didn't provide as much help as we thought.
After seeing another Pediatric Doctor in Boca I was told Dr Adam did an inferior Endoscopy and that the "new well recommended doctor in Boca" could redo a much better endoscopy? HUH? WTH? This sounds fishy to me as it is.but I went back to Dr Adams for the medicine he had prescribed for a refill I called the office and was told it would be filled but to check back.so I checked back 4 days later and the lady answering the phone there is no record of that. I got pretty upset about this at this point.because my son's symptoms had gotten worse and we had no medicine. I was put on hold and she told me to check back but I received a letter a few days later telling me Dr Adams would no longer be my son's doctor! Really? Not only is my son still not better but now we have to go see a third doctor! Do not was your time going here you will be treated badly and Dr. Adams really could not care less and it seems has really no clue.
Other reviews here say they went with an diagnoses ulcer - NOT SURPRISING!

My point in writing this review is by no means to speak negatively about a doctor or his practice. I feel my story is important to share so that doctors and other medical professionals can learn from my personal experience. In December 2019, I took my then 11 year old son to Dr. Adams to address some feeding/nutritional concerns along with concerns with possible reflux, as he was experiencing frequent nausea, poor weight gain and unexplained gagging/vomiting. I carefully explained his history of feeding concerns and that I questioned lactose intolerance.
Dr. Adams was quick to brush off my concerns. He focused more on the behavioral aspect of my son’s feeding issues, and asked me whether there were autism spectrum concerns with him (there were/are not.).
Again, please know that Dr Adams was very kind to both myself and my son. I struggled with writing this because I have nothing against Dr Adams personally. The office and staff was warm and personable. But my problem is that I wasn’t listened to. He did not take my maternal and professional (I am a pediatric speech pathologist and feeding therapist) concerns into his medical treatment. He made a quick (and very incorrect) diagnosis of my son without doing ANY testing. I walked away from the appointment knowing that I wasn’t taken seriously and that there was more to my son’s medical and gastric presentation.
Fast forward almost 3 years later. My son’s issues have continued (and in fact have worsened over the past year). He has had times of nausea and discomfort. He has missed school due to his discomfort and nausea. He didn’t gain much weight and, over the past 4 weeks has actually lost 4 pounds.
Things finally got bad enough that I began a desperate search for the best pediatric GI I could find in the area. Last week we were able to locate the Dr.who has answered all my questions and prayers! He spent the first 15 min listening to my concerns and about my son’s history. Immediately following, he carefully examined him by palpating his stomach area. He was able to localize the pain, make a proposed diagnosis (he was right) and ordered and endoscopy right away. The endoscopy took place 4 days later. This test resulted in finding gastric ulcers, and signs of severe reflux. He also is testing for possible EoE. All because he listened to me, took the symptoms and took the appropriate diagnostic steps to provide relief for my son!
My son. Is now on medication and is on the road to healing! We are so grateful. I am sad and disheartened that he has had to bear this pain for so long. If only Dr Adams had ordered an endoscopy, listened a little deeper to MY concerns…my son could have been diagnosed almost 3 years ago!
This story is to alert doctors and medical professionals to LISTEN! Take ALL symptoms seriously. And parents…. Do NOT stop until you find a doctor that responds to your concerns.
Don’t let my experience become yours!
My sincere gratitude to the medical field for all you do!

I am not writing here to bash a doctor but to say the truth about my experience with Dr. Adams. I saw him 3 times in about 8 years always with the same symptoms and no improvement. He kept telling me I had lactose intolerance. Tired of the endless discomfort and incapacity to gain weight I went to another Doctor who after listening to my symptoms for only a few minute suspected that it was ulcers. After giving me a couple taps on my stomach that he knew like a map he was almost positive that ulcers were the cause of all my pain. I could not understand why if i was "fine" all along how come i was never feeling any better. I even brought up to Dr. Adams that I also suspected that I had ulcers but instead of being thorough he just said that was not the case. I spent years suffering, could not gain weight, and having hardly any appetite. If Dr Adams had been thorough I would not have that many acute ulcers by now and I want to pass this along for the sake of the ones who will come after me.

Dr. Adams is an excellent and caring physician.

He spent close to an hour with us today even though he had a full schedule.

He took the time to review all the notes and tests from other physicians (we went to for a second opinion) and he explained everything to us.

My teenage daughter felt very comfortable with him and he immediately built up a rapport with her. That is not an easy thing to do with any teenager, especially in the role of a physician. His bedside manner is spectacular.

He is a wonderful physician and extremely knowledgeable and caring.

I recommend Dr. Adams for your Childrens GI needs. He is friendly, warm welcoming, listens and truly tries to find the best solution for your child. The office staff in WP & Boca are friendly and attentive. They typically have same day appointments if you need to get in quickly, short wait times and immaculate care.
