Dr. Phillips Animal Hospital reviews
17I love the Dr Phillips Animal Hospital I love that they are trying to help so many animals in the Dr Phillips area. Their Hospital is incredibly clean and inviting. The amount of animals that come through their doors is staggering, and most will find homes in a very short period of time! Those that don't go home right away, will live at the Dr Phillips Hospital until the perfect family arrives! I love Dr Phillips Animal Hospital so much
The best service for animal I brought my dog after getting attacked by a bigger dog and they helped him fast, and he’s better than ever now!
We use Dr. Phillips for boarding our dogs. Our girls seem very excited to be there. We've always had a pleasureable experience.
I would not, under any circumstances, come here again. TLDR:
- They don't examine your pets with you in the room.
- They performed a (non-critical) tonometry procedure I specifically did not OK, which caused my dog excruciating pain.
- They aren't upfront about things they know they cannot treat, like eye injuries. Only told us after they performed (unnecessary) procedures that they wouldn't have been able to do anything other than pain meds anyway.
- They make you wait in the lobby while minor procedures are being done.
- Receptionist didn't care that we were in distress while hearing our dog howling in pain.

Context: My senior dog had a corneal ulcer that was being treated by a specialist ophthalmologist and her regular vet, but simply would not heal.
One Sunday, her eye experienced a globe rupture and leaked fluid/became deflated. This was the only vet open, so we rushed her in to be seen. We gave them a detailed account of her existing eye issues.
First red flag: They DO NOT do examinations of your pets in the room with you. They take them to the back and then come back with a list of procedures and an estimate.
They wanted to do a fluorescein eye stain, tonometry, and pain meds. I DID NOT OK THE TONOMETRY, which tests pressure in the eye and involves a device that *actually makes contact with the eye*, which would be very painful for her given the rupture and quite obvious lack of pressure in her eye.
They had us wait in the front lobby while they performed the procedures. And you guessed it, THEY DID THE TONOMETRY ANYWAY. I could hear my dog *screaming* in the back, which instantly caused me to have a panic attack and begin crying in the middle of the lobby because I wasn't able to get back to her.
This went on for 5+ minutes, my dog continuing to howl in pain. The veterinary receptionist who was 10 feet away from me could have cared less. She made no effort to try and provide comfort or ease our worries - in fact, she completely ignored us!
And shockingly, the tonometry came back as no pressure/no read. They told us they wouldn't have been able to do anything for her eye other than pain meds - which if you knew you couldn't, why not tell us upfront and avoid putting her through that pain?
Unprofessional, uncaring, subpar service.
Waited an hour after my set appointment to be taken to the room. When I was taken in the room, they took my cat to the back to diagnose and do what they had to do, which is very strange to me. I prefer other vets who do all the tests, etc.in front of you rather than in the back away from you.
When they came back with my cat from the back, they said my cat really doesn’t like dogs…don’t know why my cat is being brought near other animals back there and am not fond of the idea.
Everybody there is amazing, and they really do care about your dog and answer all your questions. I could not be any happier the way they take care of Luna.
Dr Phillips Animal Hospital is a great facility to take your pet. My dogs have been patients for the past 6 years and we have had wonderful experiences each time. The doctor is knowledgeable, nurses are so loving and caring and the front office ladies are very welcoming. A great place to take your pet!
My dog had a severe urinary tract infection and was peeing blood. My vet was closed and a friend referred me to Dr. Phillips Animal Hospital. They were accommodating in getting me in right away. Staff and techs were very friendly, professional, and knew their stuff. I only saw the vet for about a minute. But the techs explained everything they were doing, what testing was being done, and what the results were in real time. I had the opportunity to choose what I could afford based on their recommendations. They sent me home with everything I needed to followup. When I got home I had a question about the medication and staff were very helpful. They were very thorough and my dog was already comfortable and healing that very night.
I have never been to this Vet before since I just moved back to the area after 10 years away. I had a 19 year old cat that I had to put down and the DPAH staff were very kind and patient with us. I have other fur babies so I will definitely come back for all their needs. Also, Thank you for the paw print.
DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE
Absolutely terrible service. I brought my dog in for an emergency service I explained what was going on and they tried to get me to do abunch of test that had nothing to do with what was going on. So I asked for only the ones related to what was going on then they came back and told me my dog had pancreatitis and need to be treat with a bunch of medication today and the next 3 days or he would be very sick and possibly die. And I was charged about 575$. I thought I needed a second opinion so I brought him else where and they said he had eaten something g and was totally fine checked him over and removed a wart and only charged me 150$ do not bring your pet to Dr Phillips animal hospital
While I don’t live close to Dr. Phillips, my vet is closed on Sundays and if I need care for my pets, this is always the place I prefer. My daughter has used the facility numerous times and has always found Dr Quasim and his staff to be professional and caring. You can schedule an appointment on the same day and get your pet seen and not have to suffer through the weekend. If I lived in or nearer to the facility this would be my personal choice for my vet, but I am a very big supporter of the care they provide. We have had both cats and dogs seen and cared for by them.
Called in to find out about surgery cost, I was told that I needed to bring the pet and pay $60 visit. No one told me that without appointment it was $130. Nice customer service, just another veterinarian.
I recently moved to the SL area and mostly everything is perfect here. Clinic of "dr" Qasim is first and hopefully last awful experience. First they will do everything to take most of money out of you for nothing. And be ready for 3-5 minutes of his royalty time for no real help. I will and suggest you do look for other local places with more caring for pets and less for money docs.
Dr. Qasim is the best Doctor, very patient, very professional, understanding, and friendly, he took great care of my dog Maltese Bela, his staff is very nice and once when I did have an Issue with the front desk lady for not telling me on the phone before I arrived in the clinic that walk in price will be $110.00 instead $65.00 for a doctor visit Dr. Qasim made sure and took care of that. The clinic is extra clean, and always smells nice I have nothing bad but the BEST to say for Dr. Qasim Bilal and his staff, they take great care of our little bodies, little best friends because they know they our part of our families! ️️️️️️️
Absolute madness. My dog had a sore pad, wanted almost $600 for meds that cost a fraction of the price. Simplicef, 200mgs. $95 here, $4 from chewy. People falling for this everyday here. Horrible little man.
Staff very polite. Got me in quickly. Dr didn't give me what I asked for even though dog was dying and I wasted a lot of money to NOT make him comfortable his last few days.
The vet was very cold in his answers. I went with my dog with excessive bleeding and his response was "I know the same as you right now" the budget depends on him we will do tests ". Many payment options but no options to minimize the suffering of my dog.
He told me that if I took her home I was at risk of dying.
10pm I left the medicines that he prescribed and at 8am they call me to tell me that my dog died. Alone.
