Dr Sharma, Ocala FL

By no means does this place even deserve a 1 star. This place should be investigated. This place is not conducted like a medical facility and Im completely blown away with the rudeness and lack of everything that should come with running a business.

I found Dr. Sharma by pure luck. I didn’t know anything about him at all. He was on my insurance list. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized he one the kindest, most compassionate docs I’ve encountered. He’s serious about pain management and not a pill mill. He is extremely knowledgeable and professional. If you’re trying to get meds for the wrong reasons he will see right though it. Not a pushover by any means. In other words, he will keep you safe when taking any meds he prescribes. I read some reviews about the first visit being rough. He does ask a lot of questions but that’s only to protect his patients well being. There are so few docs willing to be there for those of us who depend on them for our quality of life. Docs like him sacrifice time with the family to help us and I don’t think anyone realizes that. He sat on the phone with my surgeon to make sure I had proper pain relief with me there so I was informed. I could go on and on but no one wants to read a book. Thank you doctor bec I can spend Christmas somewhere other than laying flat on my back in pain. I can enjoy Christmas with my mom who has cancer and just finished treatment. I made my bed and took a shower all before 9am which is a miracle in itself. I’m in a lot of pain still but managed pain is better than unmanaged. I am going to run 2 very short errands today. No way I could have done any of it if my pain wasn’t treated properly. Also his front office staff has been been nothing short of professional and kind. Thank you again Dr Sharma and staff for helping me so I can be here and functioning for my mom this Christmas bec we don’t know if the cancer is all gone yet so I’m spending this Christmas appreciating her being healthy enough to enjoy it. I was with Dr Sharma for about 7 months when I was informed that I failed a drug screen in October from his PA in November. She was very rude and dismissive, she stormed into the room and asked me if I had any hospital visits or old prescriptions laying around, I answered no of course not. I asked what did I pop for and she said I should know, and I said look I’m not that type of person I’m not going to risk getting removed from the program, she said well I see you have a old oxcy script from a year ago and I said OK? That’s long gone, I asked if I’m removed from the program and she said we will let you know and I started to panic because the front desk refused to set a appointment, at least I got my meds for that month, as I was driving home I remembered that I had a procedure done on a Friday and I had dropped that prior months drug screen on Monday, I was given a Valium, and Versed for a EDG, so I went home and faxed the paperwork, with full proof that I was put under for a day procedure, with the complete list of medication given dates and time, I then called, and asked if I could speak to Dr Sharma, I faxed letters, I called and left messages and I was still released from the program I WAS RELEASED FOR NO FAULT OF MY OWN nobody is letting me speak to Dr Sharma himself, the front staff will not let me speak to him I don’t even know if he got the information about my procedure, his PA made the decision and cut me from the program before I could even explain myself. I would find another pain management specialist because this clinic is quick to dismiss you without cause.

Should be 0! This egotistical narcissist of a man should not hold any kind of Dr's license. He's nothing more than a pill Mill. If you don't ask any questions or ask him for any help, you get on the "good patient" list & he'll see you every OTHER month. I usually try to avoid him & see 1 of his LPNs instead, because heaven forbid if you ever ask a question about your health. I have left his office in hysterical tears MANY TIMES, but this last time was it. The previous appt I had asked him about getting x-rays taken so I could see a chiropractor, which he told me he did NOT want me to see. He LOST the order. He ordered a new 1 a month later & it was WRONG! My PCP used the first 1 & I got my x-rays done despite him.
Then I went to fill my Rx & found only 1 was called in even though both were
called in after seeing him the prev month. They immediately blamed the pharmacy, but after investigating, found that "per a note in my file" it said to stop 1 of my meds. Nothing was discussed with me. It was a Thursday & by Friday they still hadn't figured it out, so I went 4 days without my medication! Only thing that kept me from withdrawals was that I had a different medication. Finally on Monday the RX miraculously showed up at the pharmacy with no explanation & no phone calls back since Thursday. When I went to my appt the following month, I changed it from the LPN to Sharma so I could ask him about what had happened. Bad bad bad mistake! You don't ask Dr Sharma anything! When I ASKED him about the supposed note in my file, he FREAKED OUT ON ME, YELLING there was "no note" & being furious at his staff for telling me that! He even shoved his computer at me!
He then started other subjects that had nothing to do with what we were talking about, telling me that I was on twice as much medication as when I started 4.5 years ago. Which I told him it was true, because it was HIS FAULT. I had BEGGED HIM to go BACK DOWN to the 10 mg pills after a knee surgery 6mo after I moved here, which I was on when I came here. Because I could split them in 1/2 & take 10 or 15mg IF I needed it. HE REFUSED because they could be sold on the street! I have brought my pills in to be counted, he's NEVER ASKED or DONE a PILL COUNT IN 4.5 yrs!
He FORCED ME TO TAKE 20mg & told me to cut them in 1/4, which is impossible!
He WANTS YOU HOOKED, then blames you, so he can get $$$!
By the time I left his office, I was in hysterical tears, because he made me feel like I did something wrong for asking him a question. Telling me that he was going to refer me to somebody else or drop me, because he could choose who he wanted as his patients. I told him I DIDNT WANT A REFERRAL BC I WAS CHANGING INSURANCES to a PPO so I CAN CHANGE DR'S AFTER JANUARY 1st. But I WOULD NEED HIM TO SEE ME & WRITE 1 MORE RX in DECEMBER UNTIL I COULD GET INTO NEW DR.
When I left, they told me he would "LET ME KNOW" IF HE WOULD SEE ME AGAIN. I've NEVER HEARD A THING SINCE.
4 WEEKS LATER received a referral notice from my ins to a different doctor. NO NOTICE/LETTER or anything from Sharma. It takes 8 WEEKS to get into this Dr. Which means I WILL RUN OUT OF MEDS BEFOREHAND, & I don't even know if this Dr will accept my Ins because I can't get them to call me back! IF I WOULD HAVE KNOWN he was referring me, I WOULD HAVE HAD MORE TIME TO GET THE REFERRAL THROUGH. But I had no idea! All because Sharma's ego had to let me go, BEFORE I left HIM!
I called & left 2 messages saying I was coming in to pick up my last 2 aftervisit notes & day. Got there & they were NOT READY. Was told I had to sign a form & he had to ok it. WHY NO CALL? BS, I have a RIGHT to copies of my after visit paperwork. So I'M STANDING IN THE OFFICE saying "I'm going to sue him for negligence of patient care for NOT notifying me that he's let me go & I'll run out of meds" I GET A PHONE CALL from IN THE OFFICE, that's tells me that "he's not seeing me anymore & has referred me to". CLICK, I HUNG UP ON THEM! I'm not giving them the out by notifying me by phone, when it needs to be in writing. RUN FROM THIS PLACE!

Drove from ocala to inverness to avoid the long wait to be seen for hours. Inconsistent appointments so you run out of meds before next one. So u take an old medication til appt. It's mine and prescribed to receive a letter dropping me for services without a conversation allowing an explanation from me. Awful service. So I didn't bother to respond to accusation, better to move on.

Run away says pain and rehab but no rehab.unattended urine samples. Repeatly had to go through withdrawals. Last 2 visits put me on more addictive drug just to send letter no longer my doctor once again to go back to debilitating pain.normal visit no notice, no reason just ignoring his hypocratic oath and doing harm. Just the lack of any rehabilitation is a red flag for a pill mill if you don't do rehab false advertising or a cover.

The personal in Dr Sharma is really good but Sharma like doctor no good, and he don’t care about, I miss only one appointment because my wife has cáncer, my daughter has cáncer, and I have back problems, he said he cannot see me again because that, but one thing I know the sickness is contagious today is me tomorrow can be him, life, life, life

Never ever answer phone. How is it even possible for a doctor's office to not answer a phone? It's a first for me! I'm done.

Dr. Sharma’s office is very busy, however, it never stops the employees there from being polite and friendly. It’s very refreshing and a reflection of the doctor and management. Kudos to this practice!

Can never speak to anyone except their voicemail. They never return your calls. When you call to cancel an appointment, they call and remind you of your appointment. No problem with doctor, just cannot speak to anyone. The scheduling office staff is terrible. Definately needs counseling or replacement.

I have been seeing Dr Sharma for almost 18yrs. He's a rare doctor. Not only because he respects his patients but he will take the time to listen and talk to you.

Tried to make an appointment, gentleman on phone was rude and useless. After making the calls to Biospine to have my stuff sent to them, waiting a week with no response from I called and the person on the phone only had excuses and attitude. I will spend my money elsewhere.

Dr. Sharma and his staff are the only medical providers, that I’ve met since I moved to Florida 19 months ago, who provided me any relief of muscle and/or skeletal pain. I will be indebted to them for the rest of my life. He truly cares about his patients.

There is no better doctor in the world than Dr. Sharma and the office staff. They are awesome and listen and take the time to help you with whatever issue you’re in there for would not trade him for the world.

The receptionist that handles appointments and scripts is the worst person there she never calls back when you leave a message or voicemail and is very rude. I was there last Thursday never called my scripts in so I called insurance and there waiting on sharma staff. I will not going back there.

Dr. Sharma suggests that I try aquatic therapy and look for a place that takes my insurance. The place that accepts my insurance is in Inverness and they told me that I need a referral from the doctor. I have called multiple times today to see about scheduling an appointment for me to have Dr Sharma send out a referral and quite a few messages and nobody calls me back or answer the phone. I am getting very frustrated because I really need aquatic therapy and I need that referral from them
