Dr. Yoav Barnavon, MD, FACS, Hollywood FL

I’ve learnt that a good doctor is the one who not only can perform surgeries, but the one who stands by his patient when the surgery turns to be a disaster. The one who accepts the responsibility and will not rest until he explores the way to correct and to find the cure. It is called conscience and human compassion. You can expect these qualities from a stranger, let alone from the doctor who disfigured your face (and life in general) and knows that for the last 16 months you are living in agony of constant discomfort and pain due to his intervention.
Well, you can not expect these basic human qualities from Dr. Barnavon, who operated on my neck 1,4 years ago. It was clear that something was wrong right away. I had the same complain during post op visits, had excruciating pain and even ended up in ER, but it was all brushed off in the most condescending way.
Eventually I was sent off to his partner “for the second opinion”, who said he had never seen anything like this and understandingly so, he didn’t want to be involved.
I was alone with my pain.
The situation was getting worse, as my under-skin scar tissue continued to grow. I saw several other doctors, all referring me back to the original surgeon. Unfortunately, Dr. Barnavon is nowhere to be found. My calls and voice messages were never returned. Dr. Barnavon continues his practice and I bet not loosing his sleep over a suffering client of his.
I am still to find a cure and at this point I am certain I cannot count on someone who put me into this misery to start with.
Here are some good reviews of Dr. Barnavon and to present a total picture: I had two surgeries with him. The first one went fine, and I thought the world of him too.
But be aware: God forbid something goes wrong – you are on your own!
