Easternmost Point In Florida reviews
7Nice but a lot of queues to take the photo and work around it, a little disappointing
It's east. Like, really really east. More east than the rest of Florida. Of course it doesn't look like it, except at sunrise, when the sun rises a fraction of a second earlier than the parts of Florida a few feet north and south. And don't forget the evening, when it gets dark a fraction of a second sooner than the parts of Florida not graced with as much "east" in their location. Truly, this spot is what daylight savings time is all about. Other than that. It's a beach. Sand. Waves. Sun. 5 stars.
Update, 12/23: due to tectonic spreading at the mid-ocean ridge, the easternmost point of Florida has moved west by about the length of a fingernail over the past year. However, since the entire coast of Florida has moved westward at roughly the same rate, the user experience at the easternmost point of Florida has not changed to any significant degree. Still five stars.
We went to the point to view ocean and ships.
Nice view of marina.
Nice place to sun bath!
This is not a classic pier or even a pier.
Only the geographical location makes the place interesting.
The reason this location gets 3 stars is because if you're not staying at a nearby resort, you will not be able to park anywhere. The area is basically a walkway leading to rocks at the end and passing some sort of industrial structure. I'm assuming since it's property of the resorts (Marriot) they don't bring too much attention to it for unwanted tourists. All in all the walk from the street to the end of the walkway took less than ten minutes. Quick photo and turn back around. I did go on a good day/time because the waves weren't too high and I was able to walk to the very end. Once there, it is very beautiful and quite intriguing for Floridians to stand there as it's something we see all the time when shown a map of our beautiful state.
Parking is a bit of a challenge, but luckily, we could walk to it. Great beach.
