15 I’m reviewing the in-person shopping experience specifically. Shipping and importing plants is a whole different matter that I’ve never experienced so I won’t speak on it.
I’ve bought 6 plants from ecuagenera and for the most part they’ve done really well. The selection of harder to find and obscure aroids is really cool and worth seeing in person. There are two things you should know before going, though.
- In march of 2023 I brought spider mites with my plants. It’s been several months and they’re almost gone but not totally eradicated. INSPECT CLOSELY and do a quarantine when you bring home plants just to be safe. On the second visit, I was able to see visible webbing on some larger plants, so there are visual signs. Just watch out.
- The potting mix ecuagenera uses seems to be pretty degraded in some of the plants I’ve bought, and a couple times the plants were very rootbound. I had some issues with root rot after ignoring this problem for too long. I would suggest repotting with fresh media when you get new plants from here.
Other than that, I have no complaints. They run online sales pretty often and it’s usually cheaper to buy online and pick up, but picking out what you want to take home is also part of the fun.
Beware of the lady that works there. She will make up prices and overcharge you. Do your research before you visit
It is the first time and the last time that I ordered orchids from this company, the plant arrived completely full of black spots and after 3 days of having it all its leaves turned yellow, it also shows that it is a very old plant.
I received mistreated, broken plants in terrible conditions. The packaging is the most mediocre I have ever seen while purchasing online. The service is nonexistent.
I placed this order and reached out via email with some questions about the plants, but I never received a response. Despite that, I still went ahead with the purchase. I'm trying to understand, but this doesn't make any sense.
I enjoy purchasing plants from here. They are usually large and good health. There is a wide selection of orchids, hoyas and other tropical plants
I ordered orchids bundle and requested to pick it up. 2 out of 3 orchids were so poorly packed that roots were completely dry and broken off. I send 2 emails with pictures -never heard back from them. Will never buy from them very poor customer service.
I had ordered 2 orchid plants from Ecuagenera USA on 09/21/2021. I had never received any plants from this company and they didn't even update me on my order. I'm asking them to refund my money. I will not order from Ecuagenera anymore.what a terrible way of doing business.
Last year, I had a bad experience with Ecuagenera USA, but I had giving them another tried, ordering the orchids online from them. I had ordered about 3 times, and they had shipped out on time with every ordered. I'm really happy to see that they have really fixed the problem on shipping the order. I have always like their orchids. Their orchids are always healthy, and great prices.
I'm really glad they have fixed the shipment problem.
Ecuagenera USA in Apopka, FL is an amazing oasis to get away from reality, and just enjoy life. When I go here to shop, I feel like I have stepped into my own personal jungle. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, and their stock and prices are amazing. This is one of my two favorite places to go.
I ordered 3 orchids and requested that the order be held until Monday so as not to get stuck over the weekend. It was forgotten about and finally shipped a few weeks later after reaching out to the customer service email. (Their phone number doesn’t work.) when my order arrived, only 2 of the 3 plants ordered were in it. I again emailed and was informed that the X meant that they were out of the plant that I ordered and that they would process a refund. It would have been really nice for someone to reach out in the 3 weeks before I received this shipment to let me know that they were out of one of the plants. I also find it very suspicious that a refund was only issued after I reached out to let them know that one of the plants was not included. The 2 plants that I received were not the healthiest with one of them having a good amount of scaring. Next time, I will take my business elsewhere.
If I could give it zero stars I would really do it. I feel very disconcerted. I placed an order for almost $300 dollars worth of orchids and terribly they arrived in horrible rotten condition and unfortunately they never gave me my refund nor did they take care of anything for it being the first time I bought In this store it is disappointing and of very poor quality so I do not recommend it
I found very rare plants, but expensive. If you love rare plants, this is the place, very well organized and clean.
I've heard nothing but good things from dozens of my online philodendron enthusiast group members about this operation as well as their international website. One of the people in my group just went here in person and shared photos that blew me away. I absolutely can't wait to go here! In the mean time, I'll be ordering online. I did notice that the international website has plants listed for less than the Florida website, but then you have to deal with the higher shipping so I think it evens out a bit.
The best source of unique tropical plants. Having received beautiful plants I attended the pop-up in NYC unfortunately on the second day. I purchased a Thai Constellation and Jose Buono at a fantastic price each with a large leaf emerging. A+ Highly recommended!
Be careful buying plants at their live event and make sure you check the roots. I purchased am orchid, trusting them to sell plants that are healthy. I came home to discover that all the roots are dead and the plant died within a few days. After contacting them I was basically told that they can't/won't help and aren't responsible, saying that it was up to me to inspect the plant during purchase. Rip off
I love Ecuagenera. Love their prices. I love going here. Also, i have ordered from their live on Instagram 3 times already, no problem so far except one plant when arrived the leaves were yellowing so i emailed them with pictures, and they offered me a replacement. They have a customer here. Xoxoxox.
