El Carajo International Tapas & Wines reviews
10Great wine at great prices and excellent food. Carlos is doing such a great work Keep going! And thank you for your hospitality!
Great tapas! Wine selection is great. But hard to get in parking is bad, and don't like first thing you see is a very busy gas station.
A couple of weeks ago I reserved a table to celebrate my friend birthday. The lady who took my call wrote my name and phone number and confirmed the reservation. When the day came I called in advance to let them know i was going to be late and I was told there was not reservation under my name. That I was texted to confirmed the reservation but I never answered. I was furious.and then they changed the story. They told me that they texted me to my phone number but with another area code. Then they changed the story again. They told me that they phone number they had was a complete different phone number.
My friend had hired a babysitter for her son for that celebration and she don't accept no for and answer so she went to the restaurant and BEG the manager for a table. They finally gave us one. And when we entered we saw why they tricked us. It was packed with people.
If they would have told me: " Listen, we don't have the table you reserved because we gave it to a family and business is business. We will give you another table". I would have accepted it. But they told us " You have to wait on a waiting line" for their mistake and lie to a customer just for better profits is unacceptable.
My steak was tasteless but I was starving. And the noise was too loud. For the same money you can find a place where they treat you like you are really important to them.
We will never go back there again.
The first thing that you need to know is this: it's in a gas station. But you forget that as soon as you walk in.there's wine bottles on the walls, heavy trestle tables on barrles, frescos.great food! Go down today and try it!
Just wow! Came to this place not ever expecting such a unique dining experience. The food and atmosphere felt like I had left Miami.
You would not believe this place. Amazing. In a gas station. I was shocked and amazed at how great a place. Never in a million years would I have expected this great surprise.
We drove by this place for years before considering to try it out: all you see in front of the restaurant is a gas station, and gas stations are not really famous for good food…
As soon as you go in you think you’re in a bakery, but in the back of the bakery you think you’re in a wine store; and when you enter the restaurant: wow! The first “room”, with a high top table, resembles a wine cellar; while in the dining room you have the feeling you have been transported to an old castle!
We have tried almost all their tapas and some of their main entrée dishes and have never been disappointed. Not to talk about their huge selection of wines at very reasonable prices, like the Malbec from Mendoza we had last Friday.
Last week we had friends visiting us from Oregon: when they asked us if we knew a good restaurant for a Caldo Gallego, we drove them here to from WPB: our friend liked the soup so much that he ordered it twice!
The parking doesn’t have many spaces, but we always stopped here for lunch or for an afternoon drink & tapas and never had a problem.
4 out of 5 dishes not seasoned properly. Octopus presentation 0 stars, no salt added, just a lot of paprika on top. Only ok thing was salmon, although asparagus was way too greasy. 3 stars because ambience is really nice as well as service, and because i don't like to give less than 3 stars. No need to have menu with 45 options, have 10 options, but good ones. Not coming back.
Hidden gem in the least imaginable location, in the back of a gas station. Great tapas, very affordable wine (you actually select the wine at supermarket rates and they serve it), great tasting food.
