El Colombiano - Colombian Cuisine, Sunrise FL

First of all beware, they automatically put an 18percent gratuity on the check. There were only 3 of us and added the tip. My son not realizing this left another 20.00. When he called the next day seeing his debit card transaction the manager I am guessing said because South Americans don’t tip they need to do this, and it was up to my son to see the gratuity added so she did nothing. Now as far as the food, I got the Colombian bowl, which lacked flavor and the meat was very scarce, my son had a fried (it looked like a tortilla stuffed with meats and other things, he said it was just alright, my daughter in law had some kind of a platter which came with soup, she liked hers, I ordered a sangria, it was 9.00 and the glass it came in was very small, almost like a champagne flute but not as tall. It was good but for 9.00 and being so small not worth it. Now back to the tip, so for the 20.00 the girl pocketed they have lost out on hundreds of dollars, my son and daughter-in-law live right around the corner and will never go back, I am down here 6 months and will never go back, so beware

I got la piccada platter a mix of different meats and I hate to say it but the meat was rancid. I brought my inlaws from Jersey because the 1st time we went the food was good and they have really good cheese breads to take home and it was a nice authentic atmosphere but this time they all complained the food was bad. I brought it to the waitresses attention mind u we ordered 5 different plates and they didnt compme this plate or apologize. Never again.

The worst customer service ever! I have come here for 3 years. & this place is going down hill! Staff is just nasty and unprofessional, order online and they forget order, order on the phone and forgot order, forgotten items numerous times and never returned nice have refunded the money.

Today I came for lunch with my husband and we ordered something hot for this cold, a soup and some patacones, I was expecting fresh and hot food, everything arrived cold, I told the girl that my patacones were cold, she didn't say anything, she went and they warmed it up in the microwave and it arrived hot but overheated, and his attitude was only indifference, the service was lousy

Very friendly staff. I usually stop to get their delicious and freshly made cheese and beef empanadas, chicharrón, morcilla and sausage. Good price, clean place.

Food is really good, but the service is not the best, most of all the times the girls have an attitude and one guy that I believe is the only male server is very nice but he always disappeared after he dropped the food

I was skeptical of the reviews and the bad costumer service that they have, so I tried to give it a chance and I called to order a pick up. Let’s start for the fact that they don’t have the same prices than the menu online, then the lady on the phone had an attitude because I asked her for the prices of 2 dishes, she even told me “cmon lady” laughing
, when I was asking for the second price. Their disgusting attitude made them loose clients. Btw they are way over priced for the food quality. They are definitely better Colombian places around sunrise. Don’t waste your time

Food is always great here, I always come in either take out or have lunch dining it. Service is always subpar and I never have complained about it just because the food is always good. But todays really irritated me, I’m on the phone with my lawyers but needed to get some food in me. I order water in Spanish and she brings me a GRAPE soda? I get where the misunderstanding could happen agua and uva OK. Ordered a grilled chicken as I always do the first chicken under the chicken entrees and I get it full of onions, mind you I pointed out what I wanted along with verbally. Waitress passes by the table 4,5 times. Does not quality check my meal nor refill my water that was empty the past times her and the other waitress walk by. Mind you there are 4 waitress for a resteraunt that has a total of 10 inside tables 3 of them being occupied? ! And you can’t make sure your customers food was correct or enjoying their meal? Refill water? Blows my mind how careless they are, wrong industry perhaps? On top of that they’re all standing behind a counter talking and staring at the customers eat, and when I stack my plates up and have my card up for payment they disregard, having to get up and get they’re attention. Extremely over this location im a loyal customer, always tip above the 30% dine in or take out. Get it together

Food is not always consistent. Some time the stake as season sometimes its just plain. But when season it's good. My biggest complaint is I started to notice an extra tip added to my already completed order. I wonder how many people they have done this to. People, when you pay via Card. Check your final statement, this has happen more then once to me at this place

I understand it's tough working in the restaurant business as I am happily in it myself. But, you are a waiter behind the counter. If putting readily-made food in a plastic bag & walking it over to a customer is hard for you? You need to quit & find another atmosphere. My food was paid for. Ordered ahead. I am just picking it up. No reason for an attitude & complete disregard for RESPECT. I am 29yrs old & I try my hardest to be a good person & so do a lot of other Spanish people in this country. So, if you look bad. We all look bad. Do better, Senora.
