El Guanaco Taqueria Y Antojitos reviews
12This is a quaint little restaurant with less than 10 tables and limited parking but what it lacks in space it makes up with great food and service. Definitely worth trying. They also have some outdoor seating.
If I were on death row, I would eat here for my last meal. I'd get bean and cheese pupusas, the breakfast tacos, a veggie burrito and an extra side of rice and their heavenly, creamy beans. I'd be very full, but very happy. Not only is the food transcendant, and made with so much love in each small element, but the service and staff are delightful and exude light and love. Will eat here about once a week for-e-ver.
Great food. I had the Bistec Encebollado and it was great, my friend had the Caldo de Pollo and my wife had the Sopes and we were not disappointed at all. They serve Big portions. The wait for the serving of the food was anywhere from 30-45 min but that is because everything was made as you ordered it and that's why the food was great.
Hidden gem in Oakland Park! We went early to avoid waiting and thoroughly enjoyed our meal and service.
We were greeted promptly with complimentary homemade chips & salsa with smiling faces. Everything was timely, fresh, & delicious. We had the pork chunks for appetizer, steak stuffed poblano pepper, & crab enchiladas (which were made with real crab) for entrees with rice, beans & salads on the side.
Passion fruit margaritas were the perfect pairing.
The prices are beyond fair and we will definitely be back!
Pupusas, tacos and other delicacies that'll leave you licking your fingers is what you'll find in el guanaco. Good portions, very well made food and a good atmosphere in the heart of Oakland Park.
Both the restaurant and parking are small so take that into account when dining in as spaces for both you and your vehicle will be at a premium depending on the hour of day although they also an outdoor dining area.
El Guanaco is a salvadorian/Mexican food place so I would recommend you try their pupusas which are superior in taste and quality of ingredients to any I've tried in Broward and also their tacos which are made with in-house-made tortillas. None of that store-bought shortcuts in their kitchen.
Overall I enjoyed the items I ordered and the service, although a bit slow for my taste was very nice once it got going.
The food was absolutely delicious. The service was outstanding and the prices were reasonable. There were four of us and each one had a different dish and everything was outstanding. This place is my favorite Mexican restaurant.
10/10! This place has not only the most amazing food, but such a wonderful staff as well. When you walk in within the same second someone is asking how they can help you. The managers have even asked me how they can help me while I was waiting for my food and offered to get me a drink while I waited. That's what I call good customer service! The food is also, EXECEPTIONAL! If you are ever in the area, stop by, you'll be VERY happy you did!
I’ve enjoyed having dinner at El Guanaco for several years. Tonight was the 3rd time in the last five visits that our order was lost. The kitchen staff could care less. I will never go back. And NO they were not short staffed. Horrible customer service!
First time here, had take out, good food. Nice atmosphere, will definitely come back. I had the #2 salvadorian sample platter, so I could try a variety. They have Salvadorian, Mexican and Spanish food, very small place, little parking, but was fine.
Amazing little place for Mexican food. Old looking outside, super nice inside, I was craving for some Beef Tongue, and couldn't find this on the menu anywhere, I decide to give this place a try.
Taco tuesday was around the corner for just 15usd all you can eat, but I was here for the beef tongue.the Beef tongue was cook well. The sauce is just about right with what I remember, but for sure in these time, the tongue got alot smaller. May be it was a baby tongue
overall, a great place for a family style mexican dinner.
I do love their food.but if your doing curbside call them after placing your order and make sure they receive it. I ordered and called after explaining my notes. Then arrived at the time of pickup and they said they had their system Down and did not receive my order. That they have to call the owner so she can tell them what orders came in. If I called after placing and they didn’t see any order come in, why hadn’t they called the owner? Well I told them what I ordered and they said it would take “at least 10 mins” that was at 12: 15. I waited in my car til 12: 50 got out of the car and waited an extra 10 mins before I got my food. From 10 min to 45 mins is a huge difference. Her response why I was annoyed was “I said AT least 10 mins, sorry it happens” I believe that they need some improvements on compensating clients for things like this. You can’t just say it happens when you not only didn’t have my order but then take an additional 30+ min than the approximate time given. Customer service is lacking in this department. They seem nice but they don’t know how to deal with issues. If you eat there with no issues, it will be a great experience. Food is great. But if things go wrong, just be prepared for no extra help on the matter.
Needless to say the stars are just cause food is great. If it wasn’t for this I would give it 5 stars.
