El Jalisco Southwood, Tallahassee FL

Service was quick and pleasant but the food wasn’t the best. I been going to El Jalisco for years and this is the first time it ever disappointed. Portions have massively shrunk and my food tasted like it was thrown in the microwave to heat up. I also had asked for the fish tacos and was given the shrimp not a big deal cause I like both but i wanted what I wanted. Also the menu on here stated it came with other things I didn’t receive. Idk maybe they where busy and forgot but it wasn’t the best today

Service was amazing but the food was absolutely terrible.their portions have shrunk MASSIVELY while the prices are steady being raised and on top of that the quality of the food itself is completely gone.dry, and lacking cheese

This is a sure fire never miss restaurant. They always get the order right, it's affordable, and I never have waited for a table. 10/10

I’ve only been here 2-3 times but each time we’ve tried to eat here, the service has been horrible. The most recent time I ordered, I never received my food - the order never went through. Granted, it was due to their system going down but the hostess wouldn’t directly tell me what happened and wouldn’t directly say that my order never went through. That is fine though because stuff like that happens, my issue was that my card was charged with a 20% tip (for a to go order) I spoke to the manager Gonzalo who assured me I would be refunded. Later that night a representative from the restaurant called me, Oscar Guillen, apologizing for the issue and assuring me the refund. I’ve since called back twice and was even promised a call back each time. Still no refund. I’m not going to continue to fight this restaurant but since they have continued to ignore me, I hope they see this.

We came here on a Sunday and the restaurant was not busy at all but it seemed as thought there were only two waiters taking on the restaurant. The menu prices were all covered and there was no explanation but we ordered regardless. Normally we go to the Monroe location so when we ordered the guacamole dip, we expected a dip not just two little scoops on a dish. When our check came we questioned and the waiter sent out another older lady waitress just immediately came off super aggressive stating the price of everything has gone up and portions have gotten smaller and I asked about the menu prices and got no response from her. We will stick to the n monroe location and perhaps managers should address customers when there’s an issue.

Incredible service. The waiters were nice. We don’t had to wait too long for our food. The food was delicious, as the dessert! I really recommend this location (it’s my favorite)!

Our first time in this place and it was pretty good. Our server was slow or new either way we waited a little longer than you should for him to take our drink and food orders and to get our check. The one thing we didn't like is they when they brought us our check it already had a tip on it. I understand that restaurants do that for big parties but there were only 7 of us and two different checks. That kid made a fat tip for not so great of service because of that and I don't think that's OK. The food was really good though and my boyfriend liked the margaritas!

Went to Southwood El Jalisco for the first time. Even though the place was packed, great, fast, friendly service. Food was excellent. Endless stream of chips and salsa!

The restaurant was hot, our service extremely slow, our frozen Margaritas we're half melted upon arrival. The food was below average. I almost passed out when I ordered a bowl of guacamole and it was delivered in 2 small tablespoon full on a plate. Thumbs Never going back.

Pretty good, and the staff is nice.edit: there is NOT a drive through, I don't know why it says that. I live close by and go here all the time, definitely no drive through.

We had a large party and they were able to seat us within 10 minutes. Service was ok. Food was good.

Always a nice dinner. Friendly wait staff. Prices reasonable. Great service, a little slow when wanting to leave. Wait some time to get a bill.

Once again, El Jalisco has turned out to be one of the better places to enjoy a steak. The chef prepares each one as requested to perfection. I also enjoyed my steamed vegetables and rice. In fact, the rice was so good I managed to eat more of it than I usually do. I had weight loss surgery and haven't been able to really eat rice in years but this tasted so good. The portions are generous and I always leave with a doggy bag (or in my case, a kitty bag). My daughter had the Mexican lasagna which was also quite good. Florida has some really good Mexican restaurants and I would rank El Jalisco among the better eateries. Excellent drinks makes this a preferred dinner spot for my family.

Really enjoy El Jalisco. They will make guacamole at the table and leave out jalapeno which I hate anything that is hot spicy and cilantro which tastes like soap to me. Services friendly and great and so is the food
