The bank ordered an appraisal for a HELOC, and Charles Hamilton was the appraiser who completed it. The good news, it was scheduled within a couple days of the order, and completed and returned to bank and me within a week. Mr. Hamilton measured the Exterior of the house, but failed to translate that correctly on his layout and therefore, shorted us about 300sf, and tens of thousands of dollars of value. We tried twice with the bank to appeal (we have the county property appraiser details as well as the original appraisal when we purchased the house as evidence), and he and the bank decided to stand by his work product. No experienced appraiser should be making this kind of mistake.

Derrick came to my home last week and did an appraisal for my HELOC. Very efficient, personable and educated us on the appraisal process. I am very happy with the service provided and the market assessment is on target. Thanks Elite Appraisal Group. I would definitely reccommend your company!

I saw the bad reviews and was worried when my mortgage company selected this appraisal company. That being said the appraiser was prompt, professional, and very thorough. The finance company had the report within a few days of the actual appraisal being done. The appraiser was very respectful of my property. Based on my personal experience, I would recommend this company to a friend.

This is about 10 months late, but I was just talking about my experience and had to leave a review.

Elite? This company is a joke and does terrible work. My appraisal was full of discrepancies and David refused to fix them. I wish I could rate this company with a 0 star. If your lender uses this company, be prepared for a appraisal that looks like a 5 year old did it.

UPDATE 3/24/22: the appraisers office clarified a few things and were very kind. Our issue is still not resolved, but it’s not their fault at this point! Thanks for the quick response.

Our story sounds oddly familiar to previous reviews in terms of lack of response to required corrections! Had our appraisal done on 2/8/22, it’s 3/23/22 and the only thing holding up our refi closing is lack of response for a name correction on our appraisal. Our lender has had zero luck getting in touch. I have left a couple messages after calling multiple time and have heard nothing back. Obviously our lender chose them, had us pay for it, yet the appraisers lack of response is costing us unnecessary delay. The appraiser himself was nice and professional. Very disappointed that this is the hold up. Our lender has escalated the issue, whatever that means, but doubt they’ll get a response either. If someone could please call me to correct the issue once and for all! Parris is our last name. You’ve got my number since I’ve left it all on VM!

Our appraisal was completed on 10-12-21 by Derrick Tuell. During the appraisal process he didn't note that the septic and well were on the property. Both were installed before the appraisal. When we got ready for closing it was noted that the well and septic were not on the appraisal so the bank reached out to the company to get a revision on the document. We have now been waiting 3 weeks for the Derrick Tuell to make the corrections that were HIS MISTAKE when completing the appraisal. We are unable to reach them by phone and no one will return our messages. We are now almost a month late on closing because of the negligence of the appraiser. I would never recommend or use this company.

Official complaint to BBB filed is 3,829 words, so I'll sum this up for you: Poor business practices. Poor response time. Ignored questions. Not thorough and down right lazy. Possibly attempting to manipulate the market as values received from this appraiser are far below reports received on the same property.

The fact that the word Elite is used in this company's name is laughable. We currently using Derrick as our appraiser. He does not answer his phone or return phone calls. He has missed 2 deadlines so far. Not sure when we will be able to close on our house due to poor customer service and work ethic.
