Emerson Point Preserve reviews
20I've lived in Bradenton for a year but never made it to Emerson point. I have usually driven down to Lido to kayak.well that was a mistake! It's beautiful, less crowded and peaceful. I'll be coming back a lot more often!
Lots of well-maintained, tree-shaded trails. Nice scenery of the bay. Little crabs are abundant here, which adds to the interest of the little trail walkers.
This is one of most romantic places to watch a sunset in Manatee County. Every time we have gone, the sunsets are equally breathtaking!
I go here a lot to hike the trails. They have well managed trails that are great for walking, biking, and walking my dogs. They also have a kayak and canoe launch with beautiful places to spend the day on the water. It is typically far less crowded than Robinson Preserve and in many ways nicer.
Day trip to Emerson was well worth the visit. It was such a nice day. Liked learning and seeing some ruins of the History behind this place. Very nice trails, variety of trails some with boardwalks and without. The observation tower had a great view. Small inlet beach and beach trail. Would come here again. Would love to go kayacking here next time.
We are new to the area one of the few place that we visited so far and loved it. The reviewes online were great so we decided to go and we weren't disappointed. We will be going back to oh I wasn't think of think but dont forget the bug spray.
Beautiful preserve! There are so many trails to explore and breathtaking views to gaze at. I definitely recommend for a nice date outdoors or a fun morning jog!
Love the little adventure trails. So many creatures in and out of the water. Wish I had a kayak cause people were talking about manatees in the water. Only complaint.the mosquitoes were insane! I rarely am bother by them, but holy mosquito village batman! You could not stand still to read the historical facts cause you would be swarmed. I even had repellent on. Next day, I'm a corn on the cob of bumps. Sheesh! Whatcha gonna do.nature. Bats! Where the heck are you!?
This preserve has so much to offer - beaches, trails, mangroves, flowers. It’s a great place to do family portraits, engagement photos, etc.
Nice area all by itself at the end of the lands tip with kayaking, trails, small beach spots and a few docks, overlooks and tower. You can see really far from there all the way to Tampa.
The best place in Sarasota-Bradenton area. Wild nature, good for both beach lovers n activity lovers, like hikers or kayakers
Usually quiet stroll or bike ride. Weekends are more active. Quiet private beaches for fishing or just hanging out with a good book. Easy trails and educational markers.
Absolutely beautiful place to walk and explore. We even saw a manatee popping out of the water several times on one of the docks. The woodpecker was fun to watch and so much lush greenery to see on the trails. Well worth the visit. Bathrooms were clean and my only wish was a place to get a cold drink would have been awesome, such as a vending machine. But that’s here nor there, take a beautiful walk through here.
Great place to take the family out and enjoy a day of exploration. Plenty of trails to walk, along some trails there's info placards that explain about the settler's that live there. You can see parts of foundation still there. A beautiful look out point to over look the Tampa Bay. Good for fishing as well.
This is a small reserve that has hiking trails, kayak launch, and an observation tower. Admission is free. Parking is relatively sparse. There are free public restrooms (which are open), although the welcome center is closed right now due to covid. There were a plethora of small lizards to see along the trails and some birds. We did not see any alligators or armadillos though. Note that there are biting bugs here (aka mosquitoes and "no see ums"). You may want bug spray.
There are some historical signs that provide background and context for the area.
Due to the lack of proper management by Tampa port athority Emerson point has become a gross mound of solid wast it smells it is not safe to let your children play in that water cruise ships that break the law and state n county water treatment has turned the entire bay a waist water habitat
A quick jaunt from Bradenton, I can't think of a more peaceful, idyllic, pleasant hour or two spent in nature. I deeply envy people who have kayaks and canoes; launching among the mangroves and then paddling through the tunnels before entering Terra Ceia Bay seems like the perfect way to spend an afternoon.
Nice place to take a little or a long walk. Just make sure you go early especially in snowbird season, the parking spots fill up pretty quickly.
I uaually just go once, check it out, and ride the trail. This is one of only 3 that I am Going Back to! I love this one. Definetly in the top 3 of bike trails that I have been to!
We stopped by this preserve while driving from Orlando to Bonita Springs, we had to take a small detour but it was worth it. We just stopped to eat lunch but it was a beautiful place, we wish we have had more time to explore the trails and spend time on the beach. But what we got to see was really nice and it was great they had picnic tables to sit and enjoy our food while viewing the sea.
