Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Altamonte Springs

Over all the hospital has been great just parts of it that hasn’t been so good. Kiki form EVS had been great my whole stay here with keeping my room clean. I’d like to think the head nurse and also the therapist who worked with me throughout my stay

I loved the way they treated me while I stayed here, the food, the attention they gave me, I can’t complain.
Gina, Helen, Aiza and Frances are the best nurses, they know what they doing, and they gave me all the attention I needed! And from the PT and OT team, Melissa Bautista and Will, they did a really great job.
I really appreciate all of them! Good Job guys! Keep it up!

During an arduous journey through the ravages of invasive strep A bacteria, I found a gem in Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital Altamonte Springs, FL.

My initial treatment started with antibiotics and surgeries within a local network of hospitals. Invasive GAS had rapidly attacked my leg and foot, and after many surgeries and extreme antibiotic infusions, the time came for focused and extensive rehabilitative and occupational physical therapy. I was extremely hesitant when referred away from the original hospital, believing that I needed the highest level of medical care. But I found that Encompass’ medical care and focus was equal to or greater than the care I received within a major hospital network.

Encompass provided focused medical support and collaboration between the specialists that provided daily care. I felt confident that the rigorous PT and OT program was specifically designed to rehabilitate my damaged and weak areas without causing additional pain or injuries. And, the entire team cared for me as a unique individual and kept me informed in all aspects of my care.

A complication developed during my first stay, and I was quickly transported to a supportive hospital for CT scans. At this point, I returned to the original hospital for additional surgical care. At the completion of this cycle, I insisted on returning to Encompass because I had complete confidence in their medical and therapeutic care. My experience had shown me the value of the highly qualified team of doctors that were on site daily, and the importance of early detection and rapid access to outside medical resources.

My time in the therapy gym was enjoyable and productive. The therapists were familiar with my individual needs, and worked patiently with me. I was always encouraged to reach for the stars, but never pressed to go beyond my capabilities. The atmosphere was pleasant and I saw rapid results and looked forward to my daily sessions. The patients and therapists all created a positive environment, and a broad range of age groups and abilities worked beautifully in the clean and spacious facility.

The nursing staff was well educated, readily available, well trained, and very supportive in my medical and emotional needs. They were thorough in introducing each medicine that was administered, and always communicated all aspects of my care. They worked closely with the doctors, and served as an exceptional communications hub between all of the attending staff.

Encompass also compassionately attended to my personal comfort. The nurses, technicians, doctors, and entire support staff were not only friendly – they became friends and I looked forward to their visits. All staff members operated at a high level of professionalism while maintaining an approachable and friendly demeanor.

Encompass also eagerly attended to my personal needs, creating a balanced and functional recovery plan that addressed my overall well-being. The meals were freshly cooked, delicious, nutritious, and balanced. A menu was provided so that I could choose my own meals, and the dietary staff was flexible and very friendly. The facility was always clean, and the staff maintained my room consistently. My support team checked on me at least once an hour, and responded immediately when I pressed the nurse call button. The internet and television services operated at 100%, and the entire staff assisted in attending to hygiene and all of my personal needs.

Overall, from start to finish, the organizational structure, the processes and mechanisms in place, the staff, the facility, and the level of approachable professionalism consistently provided and excellent level of care.

Fantastic experience at Encompass! Very welcoming staff and a great PT/OT team that cares about each and every patient.

The nurses during the day are amazing but during the night they are horrible and miserable especially Deanna, she talks back, she is rude and has no empathy for the patient. Eaton the Tech for the night time was incredibly. He had patient and made everything to make you feel comfortable.

This facility does NOT let you know they only allow a 10-14 day. Why would you have a patient go through changing insurance to a plan you will accept, when clearly you know they will need hospital and rehabilitation care longer than that time frame? Absolutely disgusting that you would give my brother’s belongings to the EMT Fire department when he was being transported to the hospital for a medical emergency. I had such high hopes for this place…. But again its only about CORPORATE GREED. So if you need knee rehabilitation it might be fine, but for medically complex patients - this was just a money grab. SHAME ON YOU!

Awesome staff that is vey attentive during your recovery period. Some staff members feel just like family and help you tremendously to get back up on your feet for a speedy recovery, Facility is clean ad spotless. The staff in PT pushes you to get maximum results despite the pain.
Overall wonderful facility with great Doctors- Dr. Alvarez and Dr. Desamour. Thank you to entire staff for all your help in getting me back on my feet.

I've had a beautiful stay, everybody is nice and they treat me like somebody, and they have really been sweet and nice to me

I went in recovering from a broken neck. I read the reviews before comming and I was not impressed but I wanted to try it before knocking it. Thank GOD I did! Myra is the best nurse ever. She is going to make sure you’re good even when you forget. And therapist Sumara and Elizabeth we bomb. This facility is A1 clean and are up to date. I recommend 100% you won’t regret it!

No one actually wants to be in a rehab facility. These folks at Encompass Altamonte make it as easy as possible to endure such a trial. When you’re helpless it’s nice to know that your team is responsive and kind. I broke my tibia and was unable to walk. Surgery and pain had my BP way up. The medical team were there for me and got all issues handled. The PT and OT team were amazing as well. I would highly recommend this facility should the need arise for you.

This place is a joke. Slow pokes. No one cares if the patient has showered. Dr Fuentes doesn't put orders in in a timely manner. My mom waited all day for a chest xray and antibiotics. He left for the day without putting in the order. The nurse does nothing all she says I'm going to call the Dr. No one has answers. Garbage. Find somewhere else to put your loved ones.

Recently in March 2023 I had a emotional experience with this place. They make them self look real nice and brand new place but they don’t have their act together there are not organized or don’t have enough staff to handle the care with compassion just very few nurses. They have overworked nurses and techs. They have physical therapist that don’t hear the cry of a patient who is in pain with ulcers in his feet and kept on pushing him to do exercise even though he has ulcers in his feet were hurting him! That’s crazy, and my father was literally crying when he came back in and she, told us that they were pushing him to do this.to help him they are full it! I find this inconsiderate and in human and they need to get their act together and one night my dad the patient called me at 9: 30 at night stating that he couldn’t breathe that he needed his asthma treatment, and called for his nurse who didn’t responded over 2 1/2 hrs and no one would come and he was struggling to take his medication and no one would come and he called me. I’m his daughter, and I had to resolve this situation that took a lot of asking why this treatment of ignoring the patient! And I yelled at everyone to get their act together, and give him his medication, and what was the purpose of coming in so late, and not attending them patient? Who was pressing the call buttons and no one answered and then the other day I called they blocked my number since they have caller ID and they didn’t want to answer my calls i literally called over 2 1/2 hours also and no one will pick up the phone to answer to find out my dads well being, and they avoided me

This hospital provides excellent care. I recommend it very highly. I was very pleased with the care given to my Husband and to my Sister.

Absolutely the best facility anyone could imagine. All of, & I mean the entire staff was friendly, helpful, and genuinely cared. Even the food staff and janitors, it was amazing, & exactly what I needed to aide in my recovery! I would tell anyone considering attending their program is, " Go there! I promise you won't regret it! "

I don’t appreciate your nurse supervisor threatening my almost 70 year old mother. This place used to be so amazing and you guys are sloppy now. Nobody has a care in the world how they treat people or if someone can’t even breathe turning blue. You don’t care for your patients and let infections get out of control. Now I know why the hospital didn’t recommend this place. Its trash. DO BETTER! It’s LITERALLY your job! It’s what YOU wanted to go to school for. It’s what YOU get paid to do! You guys are an embarrassment. Sloppy AF.

This facility is incredible! Physical therapy will wear you out! Food is really good. You're out of bed most of the day.
