Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center reviews
12Amazing Everglades National Park visitor center. I learned a lot about the water conservation efforts happening in the Everglades and how it affects the birds and even the reefs offshore. The artwork, both on the walls and on the floor was fabulous. You can even sit in some rocking chairs on the covered porch. If you can only make one visitor center in Southern Florida, definitely make this one a priority.
This center is good for information on the Everglades, with displays on both history and ecology. Some were interactive.
The gift store here was better than at Shark Valley or Royal Palms.
There are signs saying you can't eat indoors. They also don't have any tables or benches to sit and/or eat at outside. I think that would be a nice addition.
This visitor center is a short overview not what to expect at the Everglades National Park.
Not much to see, but if you are lucky, you might spot some wildlife, and probably some aligators.
They have a little gift shop, if you are a National Parks lover, definitely stop by and get your passport stamped.
I've been there twice and will stop every time I go to the park, so this is my away of saying that a 20 to 30 minutes stop if definitely recommended.
We love American national parks and this was kind of on our to do list. Unfortunately this turned out to be one of the most boring national parks we have ever visited. While the nature itself might be fascinating to botanists, you actually don´t get to see much of it. Took the tour boat at 45 USD or so per person, which was to a certain extent boring. Saw very little wildlife and most of the talk was about trees and plants which we were not so much into.
If you want to see gators or have a fun ride in an airboat, explore other options outside the park.
We met the kindest and most informative rangers. They helped us understand more about the Everglades and our kids complete their Jr. Ranger booklets. The interior of the visitor center was mostly closed off, I assume due to covid. There was still good wifi, some exhibits in the corridor and gift shop. There was not clear personal RV parking, we took up multiple spots near the back of the lot.
Not much here but they had a nice porch with rocking chairs overlooking a small pond. No one else there that day so we sat for a while and rested.
The visitors center was pretty good. The interactive displays that worked were neat. The Ranger on duty was super helpful. And the lady working in the shop was really sweet. Walking into a Visitor Center after arriving at a National Park for the first time is always an iconic experience.
Could see the furthest end of Florida/USA from here. There is a small pond of manatees here. You can find postcards, stickers, magnets in the gift shop
I love the Everglades National Park. The park is huge and beautiful. The rangers are wonderful and helpful. One park ranger made my 4 year old's day by giving him a "junior ranger badge" which he couldn't stop talking about after. And the gift shop was very accommodating when we showed up after our trip through the park and wanted to grab a couple things before leaving just as they were closing.
Throughout the park, you'll see many alligators and various types of birds. I've seen snakes, spiders, and many other creatures as well as crocodiles and manatees. This park has everything and it's always great to come back and visit!
This visitor center is near the entrance of the Everglades National Park. It is clean and welcoming. The rangers were helpful. It's a nice stop before entering the park. I suggest you download the National Park App to your phone there is some good information about the park.
I was hoping for a nice gift store. There was hardly anything in it. That was a big disappointment for such a large park.
This visitor center Only have the brochure provide for you so you can decide where you want to go, we went to the famingo for boat tour and it was fun.
