The hotel was unacceptable.

First off we were put in room 209. It is cut short by the electrical room, making it smaller than all the other standard king rooms throughout the hotel. When I asked for the possibility to be moved to another standard king room even after the initial night we were told that our room wasn't smaller. And the lady at the front desk tried all she could to prove that our room wasn't smaller. If you simply look at the floor plan you can see that the electrical room cuts 1/3 of the size of the room down. Why would I pay the same rate for 2/3 of the room?

Secondly, my wife went to flush the toilet after throwing some tissue in it when we got to our room and the toilet was immediately clogged. When I called the front desk to request either maintenance to come with a plunger or a plunger brought to our room we were told we have to go to the front desk to pick one up and unclog the toilet ourselves. Mind you we did not clogg the toilet and this was immediately after check in. So they expected me to plunge someone else's mess and couldn't even bring up the plunger to my room? Between those two things we immediately checked out.

Isn't it a sanitation issue that I have to plunge someone else's feces out of a toilet I didn't clog. All while embrassingly venturing through a hotel that I paid good money for with a plunger in hand? Nah I'm sorry but there's something seriously wrong with that.

Maid service at only every 3rd day for the high amount we paid to stay there? Also, we could do with a bigger bar of soap!

The location is directly off of i75 in Venice fl. The rooms were clean and spacious. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The beach only a few minutes drive away as well as many restaurant.

Poor service. We asked not to be near an elevator or ice machine and they put us right across the hall from it. All we heard all night was the highway (windows are not sound proof at all), the beeping of the elevator and the ice machine running all night. We didn’t get much sleep. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

While your visiting the venice area call Black robo car service for a 4 hour tour of all beaches, restaurants and shopping areas. This Hotel is really situated in the best area.

Our room had not been properly cleaned. There was underwear in the bathroom and the shower was dirty. We called the front desk, and he said he would call us back later because he was helping someone else. That's ridiculously unacceptable.

Dirty pool. No pool towels. My 3yr old tripped on the broken deck getting out of the pool (my pics will not attach). Breakfast was very basic. Microwave bacon. No pancakes or waffles for the kids. Rooms were clean and beds were comfy. I would not stay here again.

I booked thins hotel through booking website and was set to arrive there late at night with my twin 7 year old children after a long day at bush gardens. Wen we arrived close to 11 ok at night, my wife and children were exhausted from a long drive, as was I. When I entered the hotel there were two sliding glass doors, one opened immediately the 2nd didn’t open right away, after knocking on the window to see if someone working there could help, I instinctively tried to see if the door was jammed, as often happens, and the 2nd door opened. When I entered the hotel a heavyset lady named Amy at the front desk immediately started yelling at me for opening the second door without a key. When I informed her I had just got there and have not yet received the key for my reservation she told me that she would not be honoring my reservation. I told her I was there with two sleepy kids so n the car and wished to speak with a manager as we had come a long way and didn’t have energy to find another hotel. She exclaimed that she was the manager. I said I wanted a refund then, and she coldly said I would not receive one and to leave or police would be called. As I attempted to call the Marriott customer service number as she walked to the back room, I saw that she indeed did call the police…who accosted me in the lobby in front of 2 tired children just looking for a place to sleep. Though the police agreed that she was ridiculous, they admitted there was nothing they could do, and that we had to leave, as she was the only representative of that hotel at that time. Needless to say I will be filing a chargeback and complaint. Beware of Amy, she seems to be an emotionally charged worker with no care for customer service, or even honoring reservations at her discretion. The general manager will be notified, but I’d stay away from this place until then.

While checking into the hotel we were told they only clean rooms every other day and that you should leave your dirty towels in the hallway at night…. Are you kidding at $320 a night I am embarrassed for this hotel chain. Find another place to stay.

Recently updated but horribly managed. After checking in we were informed that there will be no housekeeping but once a week. Also told to leave towels in the hall if we wanted new ones. When we exited the elevator to our room we were greeted with a hallway filled with dirty towels. When I asked why we were told they were short staffed. If you look at their website which takes the space to list over 75 "amenities", you will find no mention that housekeeping, one of the most expensive components of running a hotel, has been essentially eliminated.
Even more annoying was they are charging peak prices for the hotel. I suspect if more people knew there was no housekeeping on mist days, before they booked, they might find other places to stay. When I asked onsite management why this was the case they said they have a labor shortage. When I asked a regional marketing executive they claimed it was all due to Covid. I asked specifically what Covid restrictions require them to only clean once or twice a week. I did not receive a response. Tired of businesses using Covid as an excuse to charge full price and offer less service.
