Fantastic Sams Cut & Color, Ruskin FL

This was my first and last time at this location. I have been going to Fantastic Sam's for years. This location was due to a last minute haircut for my kids. When we walked in, the lady behind the counter, looked at us like we were not at all welcome. She asked if we had an appointment, and I replied back with yes. She replied back with, go to your car and we will call you when we are ready but only 1 of you is allowed in at a time. So we went out to the car and waited. We finally got a call about 30 mins later. When she called, she made sure to say only 1 was allowed in. When the first child was done, he came out and told my youngest to go in. I followed behind to tell the hairdresser how to cut his hair. The lady behind the counter snapped at me when I walked in saying there was too many people inside. Mind you, there was a lady with 2 kids sitting there hanging out or something but they were not getting their hair done. She was in there before we got there and was still there when we left. Anyways, I paid for both my kids and told my youngest to just come outside when he was done. Also the lady doing my kids hair (Gabi #7 I think was her name) seemed super sweet. She even asked the lady behind the counter if she could help with hair cuts since she didn't have any appointments. The lady behind the counter seemed very rude and I hope this was due to having a bad day and this is not her normal behavior. I was hoping to get my haircut as well but after being snapped at twice, I decided I will go back to my normal salon. I certainly don't want to support a business where I don't feel welcome.

Their manner of social distance is to leave their customer outside in the heat. Hey say to call when Yu arrive but don't answer phone. The I lowered my mask to breather through my nose and was told to put my mask on or leave, very crudely. My hair was being colored and I had a cap on. Their prices are as high as any other saloon as they no longer accept coupons. I probably will not go back. I was treated so very poorly.

I absolutely love this place. Gabi has been doing my hair for a few years and I would highly recommend her!

I may be retired, but I'm not a fan of sitting around, watching the clock tick. I also like to find a place I like and then use them each time.
Today, I used the Call Ahead service. At 2: 27, someone answered the phone and I said, "I'd like to make a call-ahead appointment. " She asked my name and confirmed who I was by telling me my phone number in the system.
She asked, "When would you like to come in? " I replied, " When would you like? I can be there in 10 minutes. " She replied, "Good, come on in then! "
I arrived eight minutes later, checked in (the reservation said "next available stylist"), and sat down.
Thirty minutes later, I was still waiting. During the last ten minutes of which, two stylists stood and chatted with one another. Then a third finished her client and decided to sweep the store.
Three stylists working on hair color clients, three with no clients, me waiting.
NOT happy! So much for trying to make one shop my "regular place".
Time to find another shop! If you have a life, you may want to as well.

The folks that work here are friendly and treat you like family. Thay are very professional and awesome to deal with

Buffy does a great job. I like to come here, usually they can take you on the same day.i appreciate the fact that they are friendly and clean. I have been coming here for several years.

When my usual stylist at an expensive salon was unavailable, my daughter suggested that I try Kezhia at Fantastic Sam's. I have not been disappointed. She does a great job with my crazy curly hair!

Why make appointments. I set Appointments 3 days ago for this morning for my parents for 11 am. They arrived at 10: 55 only to be told that they were a little busy and behind. Associate also stated it would be about 35 minutes longer before they could get service. What service? Not everyone in this area is retired or has time to sit and wait. Sorry to say we can’t rate the stylists!

I absolutely love coming to this salon! Kezhia is amazing! The prices are extremely reasonable but the expertise is priceless! My husband, daughters and grandson all go to her too! So lucky to have found her here! I highly recommend!

I have been going to Kezhia for almost 3 years! Every time I leave her chair I feel like a 100 bucks. My color, highlights/lowlights, cut and style are always right on. I trust her opinion and ability to always give me the hairstyle I need! I have never been disappointed.

Very pleased with the service, Kezhia does a great cut and is good at deciding on a plan for blending my grays. Everyone is friendly

I have taken my boys to Kezhia since they were young! At 20 and 16 they will drive from Valrico to Sun City Center to have her cut their hair. She is fantastic! All of the other ladies in the salon are polite and professional!

This is one of the best places to get your hair done, they are friendly and professional hairdressers. I really like how Kezhia takes the time to find out how you want your hair done and takes the time to go over options to get you the cut you want. I've had my hair done there for the last year and a half and plan on going back whenever I need a cut.

I am not usually a fan of “quick cut” salons. BUT Kezhia has managed to convert me!

I live in Riverview and drive miles out of the way to visit this store. This store is always clean and the service by all the employees is great.

The price is always very affordable which allows me to get my hair done more often.

I would recommend this store and Kezhia to EVERYONE.

Kezhia is fantastic! Have followed her all over for years. She just dyed my hair blue and it looks phenomenal! She had dyed my hair numerous times and it’s always perfect! She’s of the best!

I have been coming to Fantastic Sam's for about 3 years. My hair stylist Buffy Moody is the best. I watch her do all types of hair to include color, cuts and perms. There is nothing she can't master. I am always in awe with the finish look. If you looking for a great place and stylist I highly recommend Buffy and Fantastic Sam's sun city location.

Kim is my stylist here. I’ve been seeing her for close to nine years. In fact, I followed her from Brandon because I love her! ️

Debating whether or not will go back. Friendly staff but, in my opinion, attempt to deal with too many customers at same time which results in loss of personal service. Service pressured, hurried, even chaotic. Normally takes hour to trim my hair. I was in and out of chair in 10 minutes. Have difficulty accepting assembly line concept even though talent is definitely there. Think you need to re-examine your policies, your customer needs. Thanks for listening.
