Farlows on the Water, Englewood FL

I have been to your restaurant several times before all very good I wrote you with no response. 2 weeks we had reservations for 6 we were to our seats we seats at a long wood table and bench right across from the bar and where the we could see and here the cooks cooking and talking. The waitress said thats all she had left. We could even here each other speak. We paid just as much as every one dead. I was so embarrassed I bought 4 friends for dinner and have to and sit and listen this all night. I guess this where the staff eats. I feel I treated very wrongly.and believe me it was no cheap. It was horrible and very embarrassing. Noisy to say the least

We had a fabulous meal in a lovely atmosphere. They have heaters and translucent curtains on the patio where we sat. I had a $5 Happy Hour Cocktail and my hubbie had a great draft beer. For dinner i had huge scallops with blue crab, spinach and cheese. He had the St. Croix Seafood Pie. Both were excellent. For dessert we split the gluten free Pina Colada Cheesecake; delish! We cant wait to go back and try more!

My husband had the ribs, which were very good. For an appetizer I had the tropical chicken and plantain soup. It was very mediocre and only had one tiny piece of chicken in it. It tasted like vegetable soup and was not worth $8.00. As an entree I had the small shrimp and bay scallop linguine with Alfredo sauce. The Alfredo sauce had no taste. I've had better linguine Alfredo at Olive Garden.

We ordered our food to go, which is a great idea as this place is EXTREMELY BUSY! We ordered several items to share and I must say, not one complaint from a picky family! Every item was amazing and tasty. I look forward to visiting family again so I can come back here to eat! Thanks, Farlows!

I had the Shrimp and Grits. It was excellent. The others in our party all commented on how good the food was. Fantastic view over the water, great drinks from the bar and friendly staff. You can't ask for more than that.

Food was great, atmosphere was great, beautiful back patio, dock and water view. The staff were friendly and quick.

I aIways get the St. Croix crab salad. It is absolutely delicious! They have great steaks also. Very nice place to go!

Great food and friendly staff! Be prepared for a long wait. It helps to call ahead and get your name on waiting list about an hour before get there.

HAVE NEVER HAD A BAD MEAL OR BAD SERVICE AT FARLOWS. ONLY PROBLEM WAS THE. COCONUT SHRIMP DID NOT FIT INTO DIPING CONTAINER.

First we have a 7 o’clock reservation and they didn’t almost seat us till almost 8. Took us inside to a table that had 10 seats but we had 11 people and would not pull up a chair so we could sit down. Made us wait longer outside.
My shrimp scampi was OK but nothing to write home about. Waitress would not bring us extra rolls and butter. Never again and I came all the way from North Carolina to try this place my mom said it was excellent. Not worth it.

Really good food, great waitress, nice atmosphere, the band was only ok. It's on the canal, so it's nice to look out over the water after you eat and you can walk around. The parking is crazy is you get there after 6: 30 PM.

This is the best place for food and service that you could ask for. No matter when you go you can always expect to be treated right by their courteous and friendly staff. The food is fresh and delicious. Thank you Farlow's for providing your services to the Englewood area.

Extremely nice, airy restaurant on the water. It was cool today, so we chose to sit inside instead of outside, although they had their plastic covers up and a fire burning to warm it up. Staff super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. There were 6 of us, all couples. Probably should have made reservations, but we were taken in and seated immediately. We ordered drinks, frozen pina coladas, draft beers and a frozen margarita. The food was a mix of fresh fish and Southern cooking. My boyfriend had Peter Island scallops. Scallops covered in a white sauce with artichokes and spinach, then baked with cheese to a golden brown. You get a house salad of greens, candied nuts, chopped tomatoes, red onion rings and cucumbers. Your choice of dressing. A basket of bread is also brought to the table first thing. I had the stuffed scallops with blue crab, topped with provolone cheese and baked. My 2 sides were broccoli and coconut riscutto, a milky rice dish with coconuts. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner. A first for me with the blue crab stuffing. Prices were not listed. Probably pricey, but so worth the trip!

Much nicer on the inside than it looks from the road. We've passed it many times but thought we'd give it a try. Glad we did

Our service was the bees knees. Good food and a nice cocktail menu to pair up with. Recommend the seafood other options are available and quite good. Pleasant on the backwater atmosphere with the outdoor seating. Will be returning.

Food is excellent and it is a really nice place to sit and have a cocktail afterwards, located on the water.

Inside bar area for later quick bite.bar staff very nice and enjoyed service and atmosphere. It's been 2003 since last dining there with family.perhaps I'll make a point of stopping more often. Best Wishes in 2019'!

Heard great things about this restaurant and was not disappointed. Food was delicious and the service was great.

I have to change my review. They have changed something in there seasoning of the stuffed scallops. Use to be my go to. And they do not serve baked potatoes anymore! I'm really disappointed. I did let them know nicely. They still have great service. I'll go back again but not getting stuffed scallops (use to be my go to) and notnot expect to get a baked potato. One more chance at something else

Wait staff professional and accommodating for even the largest party. Food was delicious. Pam was great.
