Fat Point Brewing Co., Sarasota FL

I loved Fat Point brewery years ago when they first originated in Punta Gorda. They have a great selection of their own craft beer as well as a full service liquor bar. Their new location here in UTC is great with friendly staff and an awesome patio setup. They offer a limited bar food menu. I've ordered the cheese burger and chicken tender basket and it was ok, could be better given the price of the food in my opinion. But overall I'm happy to have Fat Point Brewery here in Sarasota and will definitely be coming back.

Came in as they open. Server talked most of the time to someone she knows at the bar and never asked me if I wanted to order food.
Had a beer and that was all I got to try. Finally asked to cash out. Other table got to order food. Looked good from afar. I’m sure this is a good establishment. Employees just need to be more attentive to their clients.

What a terrific place for Bama fans to gather and watch the game. Fantastic food and service!

Not a bad place for a beer. Food is extremely expensive for bar food and it didn't look all that good. Their selling point is the vodka seltzers that are semi-exclusive to Fat Point. They are actually really good. The drinks are priced better than other joints in the area.

Occasionally, I'm all about the restroom facilities. Haven't been for a while but I'm giving it a whirl for Fat Point. Single restrooms are cool. Why does a brand new place have such junk for toilets and sinks? The seat was all wobbly and it looks like they purchased the equipment from a dive-bar that went belly-up. Strange. The restrooms stink like sewer, too. That takes away one star.

Didn't eat, just drank. I hear they're coming out with a new lunch menu soon, so we'll be back to check it out next time we're in the area.

I stopped in for a quick lunch… bartender was very nice. However, they offered no lunch menu so I ordered the cheeseburger for a whopping $16.95! Not worth it at all… it was tough meat, dried out and the bun was old and hard. No flavor at all. A fast food burger would have tasted better! I won’t be back due to the quality of the food and the ridiculous high prices for the below average food. Don’t waste your time or money.

Bartender was great, very knowledgeable of the beers and menu and great service. Fry seasoning was fantastic. Burger was fresh. Mahi tacos were very good. Awesome atmosphere. Highly recommend.

It was our first time here. First I do want to say that the service was great and every crew member was very nice. It is small inside, but they do have a small outdoor area. As for the food. I had a burger and it was just ok, it didn’t have much flavor to the meat. Not sure if I will try again since there are so many other places to eat in the area.

Awesome new place in the UTC area. A must see if you like beer. The brews are fantastic. Come see Eric, a super cool bartender that will give you samples and is very knowledgeable about all 24 or more beers on draft. Come by and have a hang. The burgers aren’t bad either.

Everyone working here was personable, friendly and attentive. Food prices are a little high, but the quality is there so it balances out. We had a burger, with sweet potato fries and grilled mahi with a side salad. Love that they have some healthy options on the menu as well! Beers were great - cold and a good variety. Will recommend to others and be back in!

Filled a gap in the market around UTC. Nice to have the option to grab a craft beer after shopping. The manager here provided excellent service and made us want to come back again. Will definitely keep Fat Point in mind whenever I’m in the area!

My wife and I have been meaning to stop in as we love checking out the local breweries and finding that place to keep coming back, needless to say, Fat Point has the makings of a real “home” brewery.

Immediately greeted upon walking in, which is always a nice touch. The inside is spacious, clean, and has a nice warm feeling to it that makes you want to belly up at the bar for a few hrs and enjoy a nice beer and some sports on the tv. Full kitchen (we didn’t come hungry), specialty drinks, outdoor seating, and reasonable pricing all adds up to a great first experience.

Definitely will be back for some food and more pumpkin beer (best I’ve had this year) We also sampled a few others and enjoyed them all!

Stopped in after a golf lesson across the way at Golftec and in the words of David Lee Roth "If you let me cool you one time you'll be my regular stop". It's going to be my regular stop. Great beers brewed in house and some pickled ginger onions that come with the fish dip that are a real treat for your taste buds. Wasn't super busy so I got great service but everyone seemed like a pro so I bet everyone gets great service. Give them a shot.

Ordered the grilled mahi mahi with mango and avocado salsa with wild rice as a side. Nothing special, the menu listed the mahi mahi as seasoned, but it was completely flavorless and dry, I didn't even taste any salt or pepper on it. Salsa was made up of tiny pieces of mango with barely any avocado. Didn't think there was seasoning there either besides the two ingredients being tossed together in a bowl. The rice was probably the only seasoned part of the dish. Portion was very small for something that was priced at $16.95. With tax and 20% tip, I paid about $22. Overall, I didn't think it was worth the taste, portion, or price. I only gave this 3 stars because our waitress was nice and the decor was good with outside seating available (we sat indoors). However, the music was incredibly loud and everyone else in my party complained of the same thing, we had to shout to hear each other. Kinda wish they would play the music at an appropriate volume, not a big fan of music blasting to the point where you can't hear the person next to you. Hopefully they can improve more on their menu and portions since they just opened about a month ago.
