Firearms Training by John G. Johnson, Cape Coral FL

So I'm sorry that I'm apparently the first person who didn't have a positive experience with John. Four of us booked the Christmas Special for $99 per person each. On the one hand, I unfortunately found John very unfriendly. There was a short hello as we entered the shop and then he disappeared straight away without a comment for 5 minutes. After that he just said that we should get glasses and earmuffs and follow him. No quick small talk about what to expect or anything else. When he arrived in the shooting room, he disappeared again without comment for 10 minutes. In other words, we had already wasted 15 minutes of our lesson doing nothing. He came back with a pistol and I was told to start shooting. No instructions, NOTHING. He didn't say a word to us, just told me how to hold the gun and showed me how much resistance I would face. Pulling the trigger 5 times was the next one. Continue without saying much to us. We didn't shoot at any targets either, only at a paper plate that was so perforated at some point that you could no longer tell whether or where you hit. There were no tips at all. Even while we were shooting in the room, he kept going outside to make phone calls. After everyone had had three turns with the pistol, each of us was allowed to shoot one more time with a gun and 5 minutes before the end he said "Okay, that's it". That's it. A total of 400 dollars for 40 minutes of shooting, no instruction, no conversation, no tips, 2 different weapons, a paper plate.
I don't know if he had a bad day or just didn't like us, unfortunately I can't explain all the positive comments any other way.

I just had my class with John G. Johnson today, and after 5 years of not shooting John absolutely refreshed my shooting and taught the real foundation and techniques of shooting a pistol. I highly recommend being trained by John G. Johnson.

Our family of 3 took the basic pistol combo class with concealed carry class. John was fabulous. He puts you at ease while teaching and has a great sense of humor. I had never shot a pistol before so he explained how women shoot different then men. My confidence grew with every practice round. The men listened and practiced too and also improved with every round. We really liked the private instruction and attention and we felt like family. Skip the big corporate locations, John is more affordable and the real deal. We are looking forward to learning more and of course lots of practice.

My husband and I attended John's class a couple of weeks ago. He was outstanding! His patience and knowledge made me feel very comfortable and allowed me to finally get past my anxiety regarding firearms. Thank you John. Looking forward to returning.

John was exceptional……. With only 5 shots John was able to give me a couple of pointers and I was making clusters every time. He lets you try a couple of firearms to see what is going to work best for you, gives his recommendation but let’s you make your final decision. I would highly recommend taking John’s training course even if you have shot in the past.

Super great experience! Training and conceal training all in one, super easy paperwork and rescheduling! Love how friendly and open the class can be and got to choose the best gun for my first time shooting! Really fun highly recommend

I did the combo class with John and he did an awesome job from start to finish. This was my first time shooting and I had very little knowledge about pistols. He was extremely thorough with every aspect of shooting from safety to how to be a better shooter. His set up at the facility and his teaching approach made the experience very comfortable and enjoyable. I highly recommend John.

John was absolutely fantastic and a true professional. You can tell he is an experienced educator and professional. I took one of his courses and learned some incredible tips and tricks to help me get so many clusters when shooting, something I was struggling with in the past. Been to ranges all over the States and Canada and this was by far the best experience.

John was very helpful with what type of gun I should purchase.
I highly recommend giving them a call. They actually let you handle and get comfortable with the gun before you buy it and are stuck with a gun you can not use and or are not comfortable using. Also very easy to talk with and makes you feel comfortable.

Mr John is absolutely amazing. He’s extremely knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable. I would recommend his class to all first time handlers. I left his class with a lot of confidence. I’m excited to go back.

I did the pistol training plus concealed weapons class this morning. John is amazing! He puts your nerves at ease, makes it easy to understand, and lets you try several pistols. Ultimately it is your decision which one to pick, but he will you give advice and suggestions as well as the why’s and why not’s. He is very knowledgable and made the class fun! I love that it is family owned. His son, Jacob, is also very knowledgable and personable. If you’re even thinking about trying this class, do it! You won’t regret it!

Went to private class today, I’ll be shooting for a while, found out today that what I was doing was not 100%, correct, appreciated the great feedback I received, looking forward to using the range to improve my skills. I would highly recommend this class, even if you were shooting for a while.
