I have been going here for years. I called on a Thursday morning at 8am because the medication that I had been prescribed 3 days ago wasn’t working. The nurse promised a call back to me that same day. Come Friday at 2pm, I haven’t heard anything so I call back and I am told that I have to wait until Monday. I’m in pain and they clearly don’t care at all. The receptionist told me that maybe another doctor would take a look at it, but he leaves early on Fridays. He didn’t have time for me either because it’s Friday night and I have a whole weekend of pain to look forward to. Find a practice that cares, because this one doesn’t.

This place is now called Baptist Neurology. I like Eric Ponder, I am unsure of the rest of them now that everyone else that I know is gone. It it is very unsettling when you have a brain injury to go into your neurologist to find no one you know there. I realized that it's not very often that I remember people by their names but I remember faces after seeing them over and over, and with everything else that's going on, this was not something that I or anyone else that goes into that office needed. Hopefully, everything will flow and get back to normal Eric Ponder was able to get a compound of a medication that I've been trying to get for almost a year that no other doctor has been able to get and for that not the location but he gets five stars. Thank you Eric Ponder! You are my hero.

I had been going here for about a year and a half and before they got bought out by Baptist Health, I loved them. All the staff was so helpful and every doctor I interacted with really listened and helped me get some migraine relief. Since May, when they got bought out, I am unable to reach anyone at the practice, when before it was no issue at all and I always heard from someone within a day or so. Now I leave messages to get help with prescription refills because the pharmacy cannot contact the doctor either. No one returns the call and if you finally get through to someone, you have been on hold for over 15 minutes. Really frustrating. Dr. Ponder and Dr. Meredith are amazing, notwithstanding.

When it was first coast Neurosciences i had no problem making appointments for my botox, staff was always friendly and understanding. Now that it’s bought by baptist it’s horrible. They are rude and will not accommodate your schedule no matter what. They only do botox on Fridays and will not accommodate if u work that day, lady was so rude when i was explaining i can’t come fridays, all she said was “ so you don’t want to get your botox here anymore” not even trying to re arrange A schedule or see if there is anything they could do. I have really bad migraines from a head injury.now i have to change neurologist- which is always a hassle especially finding one that does botox. I don’t recommend them AT ALL very rude and unprofessional.

This was one of the most informative doctor's appointments I have ever had. The doctor was incredibly knowledgeable, empathetic and has a great sense of humor. It feels great to have answers.

6 years under their care and the staff has only gotten worse over time, my calls are not returned, and messages not being responded to on the portal, which was created for better communication. They have constant turnover, which makes it harder to get care. I've had a migraine for 2 weeks now and had to go to the ER twice, to which the ER advises follow up with my neurologist, who never returns calls. The staff is SO RUDE! Brenda, Tia, and Nadine are beyond condescending and disrespectful, Brenda being the office manager. Amy and Dr. Toenjes were God sent initially, providing the best care, but somehow I was moved around to the 3 other doctors, all of which are no longer there, and when I asked to be returned to Dr. Toenjes, I was told he is booked for 6 months. I've pleaded to have Amy call me with no luck. I have been told Meredith is on maternity leave. Then, I receive a certified letter advising they are no longer treating me after the end of October. I'm ultimately being punished by having to find another neurologist because this office can't keep staff, which makes scheduling impossible. I have to say, it's a relief to find a doctor who cares and has time, but in the interim, I am STILL mid migraine and am not being treated because I can't get a returned call from First Coast. My opinion is to avoid this office until they get their staff in order to help the flow of treatment. Biggest disappointing piece is as an adult patient, spending countless dollars, you're ignored then spoken to like a child.

Dr. Toenjes and Amy Toenjes have been very caring and watchful of my daughter, Melissa, for almost seven years. Melissa is a paraplegic coupled with multiple sclerosis and through their treatment she has been able to live a full and active life. I recommend them wholeheartedly. I think the current staff are friendly and welcoming.
