Priced gouged after starting then did not complete basic components of agreement. 5/25/2018 owner Michael quoted a hedge trim and bed clear out on 4 beds in person, taking pictures on his phone for reference. A text was sent to confirm the job and clarify that some ground level grass would be remove- Michael confirmed that would happen. 5/26he did the job then refused to remove the ground level grass without additional payment, stating it was too much, despite having seen it in person the day before. Still charged the same amount, stating it " didn't matter. " Entirety of debris was left piled in yard. No receipt provided. Requested he return to remove the debris and provide a receipt and was told he would return the next morning to do so. Never showed and never replied to any subsequent messages.

Thank you Mike for all your expertise and saving me money! I don’t usually take time to write reviews, but this guy deserves a THUMBS UP! I called him out to remove several shrubs around my house that were creating weeds I couldn’t stop from growing, hidden tree stumps that had roots that were close to cracking my driveway, and buckling my pavers. I had called a few other landscapers, but the cost was STEEP! Mike came out, gave me a WAY CHEAPER QUOTE, took out the shrubs, cleaned out the beds, sprayed some super strength weed killer so they wouldn’t come back, and instead of bringing in a bunch of heavy equipment to tear up my lawn, he drilled holes in the large roots of the tree stumps that killed them and SAVED my driveway and pavers, along with saving me over $1,000 a few of the companies quoted me to have them grinded down and removed. It didn’t stop there, because once the stumps had died and were ready for removal, when they started deteriorating we noticed mold that had grown on the side of our brick all around the house. I called him and he came RIGHT BACK and pressure washed it all off for us! My house looks BRAND NEW! My neighbors haven’t stopped complimenting on the fantastic job you have done! Thanks man! You really are the BEST!

Beware of First Response Lawn Care! Mike did not complete another job he started. He was supposed to replace most of my yard with new sod but only killed half of what he was supposed to and never returned. For the past two weeks he has not answered my text or phone calls. Yet he just posted another ad on Craigslist just yesterday advertising his business. Be sure to check out the BBB and Google on this business before you try him.

The entire job including materials, labor, and tax you quoted was under $2400, not $3000 for materials and I have your quote if needed, so that's incorrect! You advertise you accept several methods of payment from cash to credit cards but you never mentioned a company policy of over $500, so that's correct! And why would you start a job and expense materials and labor if we did not agree on a price?

Also, found out from an individual from Craigslist that you took money from someone up front and never returned to finish the job. This is what they told me in their own words:
A couple of years ago I hired Mike to do our yards.
He started off well!
Did a good job, except it took him several days to complete our 7 acres. He kept stopping to run and do other jobs.
I stopped using him for a while.
One day I rehired him and paid him $750 up front (my mistake), just after he weed ated 1/5 of the property
He never returned.
Would not respond to my texts, calls, or emails
Don't know what happened to the guy.

Unbelievably talented, and CHEAP! The majority of my neighborhood uses First Response for their landscaping needs, so when he was referred to me, I was expecting a pretty expensive quote. His quote was under HALF the amount quoted by 3 other lawn companies I had come out and I am SO thankful I hired him! He had the job done in a day and a half, an my yard has NEVER looked so nice! Thank you Mike for all you have done for us! We will be back. I promise!:)

This guy is TOP NOTCH! He cleared my land, grinder stumps, planted new grass THAT GROWS AND STAYS! Awesome customer service, much cheaper than competitors, and he is a PERFECTIONIST! Thanks Mike for being so dependable and quick! I’ll be calling you again soon!

Amazing skill and service! I could not be happier and so impressed! I met with the owner because we had our house on the market for almost a year and it hadn’t sold. I was in a panic because my husband had started a new job in Colorado and we had plans to move before the school year started this year so the kids didn’t have to move mid year. Well our house was not selling, so Mike (the owner) suggested that he create flowerbeds around the house, with border to update the look. His prices were A LOT cheaper than other lawn companies I had dealt with, he had the flowerbeds done in 2 days around the entire house (almost 4,000 sq.ft.home), and they were PERFECT! My neighbors haven’t stopped checking them out and BEST OF ALL, the house SOLD IN 2 WEEKS! We are ON schedule to move and be together as a family for the first time in months! THANK YOU FIRST RESPONSE! You will NEVER know how much you have done for us!

Doesn't finish the job as he promised. BBB doesn't have anything good to say about this company either. I should have checked out BBB before I hired Michael Wade.

Awesome Quality Work beyond my expectations. First Response Lawn Service was honest and showed up exactly when he said he would, completed the job before projection, and was the best estimate BY FAR! I wouldn’t waste my time with any other company! He’s the BEST! Thank you!

This company is MAGIC! I had heard about this guy this summer from several people and their lawns looked pretty awesome. I figured with that type of clientele it was going to cost me an arm and a leg. I live close to the water, lots of roots in my yard and the ground is hard, so I’ve struggled trying to grow grass, constantly have companies come in and redid every year. I was at my wits end, and I was willing to pay whatever it takes to have a lawn laid that stays! This’s guy came in with some pretty big machinery, filled up my entire ground, turning up the soil making it soft, takes it out and laid a very THICK, special sod grown locally he recommended. Well it’s been a couple of weeks and my yard looks like it should be on TV! Along with the fact, I paid LITERALLY less then half the cost I have paid from year to year replacing it! I can not give Mike Wade enough praises! THANK YOU MAN! You are a MIRACLE WORKER!
